Worked flawlessly and it was easy to install on DELL XPS8910 System !
High value Gigabit Ethernet product.. Installation required me to disable ‘Secure boot’ in Bios and re-enable it. Driver’s were automatically installed after systems was restarted. Value for $$.

Works out of the box and are reliable
We have quite a few of these running on VMWare servers and I also went ahead and stuck one in my desk station because, why not have a 10GB dual NIC in it?They perform well and have had 0 issues running 24/7 and are a good economical option for adding dual NIC capable of 10Gig (the HP branded ones can be expensive). No compatibly issues with VMWare or Windows Server or Window 11. We have them in HP and Dell servers and my desktop is a custom built ASUS with an AMD CPU.

Very Reliable, Easy Install, Recommended
My use case is a personal development network with two high end desktop workstations, one with AMD Ryzen 9 and the other with Intel i7. Both are running Ubuntu Linux 22.04.2 PRO and I am using a Mikrotik CRS306-4S-1N switch. Both Desktop systems have dual 10G NICs and cable into the switch with 6COM 6C-SFP-10G-T SFP+ 10G RJ45 Adapters and CAT8 cabling. As soon as everything was plugged in the systems came right up and everything was fast and sweet.Don’t forget to plug in the backhaul cable from the switch to your in-house network feed otherwise no DHCP and the 10G connections don’t com up.Highly recommended. This is plug and play and the most practical sense. Installation time was about an hour and that include putting boards in two machines, running cables, attaching adapters and installing switch. “Settings/Network/Ethernet/Wired/enp11s0f0 showed connected at 10000 Mb/s immediately. My one extra thought though is that the dual channel boards are only a little bit more, and by the time you bother to open up the box and install a board, you might as well think of the future, IMHO.

Pro: Cheap, 10Gb, Dual Ethernet, 8x PCIe, Easy(BSD), Stable. Con: No 2.5Gb/5Gb, Runs hot, PCI v2.1
This card is a good fit for my specific use case but it won’t work for everyone. It has no 2.5Gb or 5Gb support. It’s an 8x PCIe; that’s good for speed but won’t fit in a 1x or 4x slot.–This listing says the X540-AT2 “support 100Mb to 10Gb” but the X540 is an older controller. It does not support 2.5Gb or 5Gb.This card connects at 100Mb/1Gb/10Gb only.–The card is 8x PCIe. I needed this for my older PCIe v3 mainboard (my 1x can’t do 10Gb/s).The Intel spec sheet for the X540 says it’s PCI 2.1 (32Gb/s@8x).The X540 is discontinued. The chips or cards might be NOS, which is fine.–It was plug and play for my pfSense 2.7.2 (FreeBSD).–The X540 chipset runs hot. Reviews say it is stable under heavy use with passive cooling and good airflow. This card has a fan but reports are some fans died early. I have a 2nd fan blowing on mine. The X540-AT2 draws 12.5 watts at 10Gb. This is comparable to other Intel Ethernet controllers.–My use case: Old ASUS PCIe v3.0 mainboard, pfSense 2.7.2RJ45 connected to 10Gb ONT, 10Gb SPF+ module in my budget 2.5Gb switch.–This is the cheapest I could connect 2.5Gb internet to my LAN:This card ($44 used)Sodola 2.5Gb (x8) switch with a 10Gb SPF+ expansion port ($60)Fibergaga 10Gb SPF+ module ($40)

Itâs works!!!
It works easy to install, I would recommend to any low budget enthusiast like myself.

works as expected and affordable
I have this installed under Xigmanas, and it was pretty much plug and play. It has been stable, and I know it handles uploads from two 2.5gbps sources concurrently just fine. I haven’t tested beyond that. It is simply packaged, and was quick to install.

Fan Failure in 2 weeks 24/7 running
Network card works fine for my home router I built, but the fan in the heatsink failed in two weeks time. Makes a horrible noise. Unplugged the fan and zip tied an 80mm noctua to it. Cheap cheap cooler on an already lower end NIC, so why did I pay over $100?

Can’t get it to work with Linux VMs on ProxmoxSERR-
Got this for my Proxmox machine; It works fine with a Windows 2019 VM but TrueNAS Scale and Ubuntu VMs not so much â they get a valid IP via dhcp but no network connectivity so I think there are issues with Linux drivers or kernel. I just ordered a SolarFlare SFN6122F which TrueNAS reports works (see TrueNAS resources: 10 Gig Networking Primer), if it does, then Iâll be returning this.âlspci -vvxnnâ below:Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82599ES 10-Gigabit SFI/SFP+ Network Connection [8086:10fb] (rev 01) Subsystem: Beijing Sinead Technology Co., Ltd. 82599ES 10-Gigabit SFI/SFP+ Network Connection [1dcf:030a] Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort-

Très bon produit je suis presque au taquet niveau débit, j’ai investi environ 100⬠avec le câble SFP+ mais je ne le regrette pas, ça fuzzzz comme l’éclair. Je recommande cette carte réseau vivement.

Bought for esxi server 7. discovered and working without any issues

Prodotto fantastico, semplice nell’installazione e nell’utilizzo. Configurato senza problemi sia in S/O Windows che Linux, anche con pfSense per via del chipset Intel che non crea alcun problema.
