Worked perfectly as a run between buildings in conduit.
This was my first time working with fiber optic cable. I’ve always run CAT 5/6 ethernet, but had problems with lightning taking out switches on either side of an underground run between buildings. Bought this, plus a cable pulling tool to assist with pulling through 100′ of 3/4 conduit. Was a little concerned with the fragility of the cable vs ethernet, but I shouldn’t have been – it connected right up to my new SFP switches, and is now running 2.5G between builings at 300+ feet! I’m hoping this will put and end to my lightning issues. Time will tell! Going to buy some more to do the hop to the next building.

Excellent quality, great price.
Build quality is excellent, and cannot beat the price. Looks like the exact same fiber cable a local retailer sells for 3X the price.

Does What It’s Supposed To
Don’t have a lot of experience with fiber, but this feels well made and did the job when connected to the sfp+ modules in my switch and udm. I only wish it was shorter but this appears to be the shortest length that is made.

Works perfectly!
Used this to provide 10G between the SFP+ port on my Unifi Dream Machine SE and one of the 48 port PoE switches in the rack – plugged right in to the SFP adapter and worked with no concerns. So nice to open up more backplane bandwidth at 10G!

Does its job
Works as expected.

Easy to work with
Set this up as a trunk from the router to upstairs. Routes from the first floor into the basement, up a pvc pipe into the attic, then dropping down to a storage room with access to a fiber keystone coupler that goes into another room. No issues with the physical routing experience or with network performance. The actual installation process started in the attic, and normal I have to use a string or attach a weight to pull down cables through the PVC pipe into the basement because there’s a lot of other cables to get stuck on. However, the connector end of this cable acted as its own weight to effortlessly feed it down the pipe.

connected two switches through a plenum. Pulled the FPC without any damage/breaks.

Cost effective solution – updated
Setting up a 10Gb backbone at the house can be a bit confusing, but the SFP+ and fiber cables from 10Gtek have made it easy. I started using fiber to isolate sections of my home net so that nearby lightning strikes would not take out more than one piece of equipment. The first shipment of this patch cable arrived with the ends crushed and parts missing. I filed a return through Amazon and received the second cable two days later. My cable works perfectly. I know I don’t need mode 4 for a 10Gb run, but the 10Gtek mode 4 was about the same price as some other mode 3 cables so I went with the higher capability cable. Who knows, I might someday upgrade to higher speed switches and need a better cable.Update – The site image looked kind of pink and description said peach, and since I am pulling 2 100ft runs, I ordered the peach to make it easy to tell them apart. What I received was close to the common bluegreen that most OM4 cable is. Since I did not want to wait, I just broke out the red magic marker. Not happy about the color change.

I like these cables a lot. All of my fiber ports are strung together with these cables. Theyre affordable, easy to run, and work just the same as more expensive cables. As long as they keep making them, I’ll keep buying them.
