This audio switch box works great with my two computers!
I just got a new Windows 11 gaming PC to prepare for Windows 10 end-of-life coming up next year (October 2025) so I’m still using my current Windows 10 PC and wanted to share my Bose computer speakers that I’ve had for years but still work great.I already set up a KVM switch box for my monitor, keyboard, mouse, microphone, web cam, and printer, but it doesn’t have any audio sharing so I got this 4 Way 3.5mm Stereo Audio Switch box and it works great! There’s absolutely no sound distortion nor degradation ….the sound is still amazing. My Bose speakers are connected through their subwoofer under my desk so now I plug that into the single In/Out port of the switch box and plug the audio cables for my computers into the A & B ports to switch back and forth between the computers, just like my KVM switch. What’s also really nice is that since this switch box has four available ports (A,B,C,D) I could also connect an audio cable to my laptop to share my Bose speakers with that as well.

Saves a LOT of extra cable runs.
Saves a LOT of extra cable runs. I had two feeds to my speakers and had 3 cables “hanging” going to TWO separate volume controls and had to unplug/plug to get the feed that I wanted. NOW just one feed from this one volume control with simply turning a switch to the source that I want.

Great passive option for volume control. This is an attenuator, not an amplifier.
This is exactly what i was needing. I needed a non powered, super easy option to simply plug in a static sound source so I can control the volume. In simpler words, I needed to give a singer a headphone feed but didn’t have a way for them to turn it up or down themselves. This is the perfect option. No power supply, just plug in the audio source and then plug in the headphones. It does not split the audio source to 4 headphone outs. You can’t have 4 people get the same feed. This will do 1 separate audio source to one headphone out at a time (up to 4 separate headphones, but only one at a time) or 4 audio sources one at a time to 1 headphone out. It can go either way. This is only an attenuator, meaning it doesn’t make things louder, just quieter. It would need power to be an amplifier. So if you feed this with a loud enough source, you can turn it down to a listening volume, etc. This worked perfect for my singer and will continue to work for quick, on the go situations like this. I love how small it is. I do wish I could split the signal to 4 headphones at the same time, but one is fine for now.

Actively switches between sources but passively passes everything else through
Works as a switch. Select between source 1 or 2 but does a poor job of separating signals. Audible artifacts or static transfers across the output channel if both sources are active. The unit is poorly shielded as static is generated during a signal source start up. The volume control seems non existent. The unit is highly sensitive to the quality of the cables. $20 3.5mm gold plated audio cable works fine but still generates audible artifacts but generic OEM cables [not the one included with the product] generates static and modulation at the slightest movement. Overall it works to switch between sources but don’t expect anything else and expect to have to unplug it occasionally.

Great for multi-in, one out setups!
I keep my laptop and turntable record player in the same corner of my room, and it became a hassle to keep unplugging AUX cables. Enter this device! I keep it adhered to my desk, with two inputs running to the IN ports, and then 1 out to my desk speakers. It works great for switching between outputs, all I do it reach over and flip from OUT D to OUT C. I can also plug in my phone to my speakers in OUT B if needed, so it’s great to have the spare I/O. The volume knob is also useful for speakers that don’t have volume control.I’m surprised this doesn’t need power in, for better or worse. Sound quality is not degraded at all, but volume does come down a tad tad tad bit. I’d prefer there be power in to make the sound louder if necessary.

Simple and Functional
I ordered this passive volume control for down-and-dirty a/b testing. For this, it works excellently. It is compact, well-built, and super easy to use.I have only a minor complaint. The printing on the volume control can be confusing as the labeling makes it appear as a 2-in, 1-out system. It can be used in either configuration depending on your needs. Also, some noise can come through depending on your setup, so keep this in mind.Overall, I am very happy with my order. it does what it should. If you have a use case that fits this device, then I can confidently recommend it for reliable usage.

Listen!
It all started with the new monitor. My old one had built in speakers and a 3.5mm port on the side for earphones. When my honey was asleep in the next room or reading, I plugged the earphones in and the internal speakers stopped playing. Alas, the old monitor died. Almost as bad, the new monitor had a single outlet for sound and no speakers. This switcher has a single port for the sound to come in, and two out ports, one of which I use for external speakers and the other for my headset. I can switch between the two with the touch of a button, adjust the volume with a dial rather than finding an icon on my computer screen, and even turn off both outputs, so that I don’t even have to listen to that small noise that comes out of the headphones when I’m not wearing them. I haven’t tested with my sound meter, but quality seems as good as a direct connection. If I wanted I could reverse the gadget for two inputs and one output. As I type this I am enjoying the Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor.
