Incredible ALR
Not much else to say, this screen is incredible. It honestly wasnât hard to set up, not sure if they have made improvements since the previous reviews but itâs like 16 screws, hand full of springs, and everything fit together perfectly. You can see from the picture with the lights on that the picture quality is amazing. Thatâs from an AWOL 3000 pro streaming YouTube TV.

Great
This is my first foray into projectors (paired with the AWOL LTV-2500), so I wasnât entirely sure what to expect, despite doing some major researching. So far, Iâm very much in love with my new setup. Only a few minor gripes:1. Assembly was tricky. The instructions were clear enough, but there was one aspect of the assembly process that was a major pain. You stretch the edges of the fabric screen around the outside of the metal frame and then anchor it in place on the back side with a bunch of spring hooks. If you donât get the screen centered PERFECTLY, you simply canât get the final frame cover attached. I canât see any reason for it to be so unforgiving – we were only off the slightest bit and canât imagine it affecting the image at all. We had to go back through and detach every single hook and then very carefully reattach the hooks, ensuring that the screen was perfectly centered and didnât shift at all – really painstaking and ultimately taking way longer than expected to finish assembling.2. If youâre hoping for the same kind of image youâd get on a flatscreen TV, youâll want to lower your expectations just a bit. The resultant image is really great – crisp, colorful, and plenty bright – but it still has a slight âprojectorâ quality to it. In particular, it has the slightest shimmer/sparkle that reflects off the screen. Itâs not a huge deal, and you pretty quickly forget about it, but itâs there.3. Iâm still cringing a bit that I spent so much on this screen. Itâs certainly nice, but itâs easily the same price as a nice flatscreen TV. Iâm not entirely convinced it needs to cost this much.In the end, I donât regret this purchase, but recommend making sure you know what youâre getting. Probably closer to 4.5 stars for me.

Great screen!
We bought this with the Awol 3000 projector and we are very happy with our purchase! Good picture during the day with light coming in the window. It was tricky to put the screen on the frame. I suggest finding a YouTube video and having two people work together and do opposite sides at the same time.

The 100-inch screen is Amazing!
I love our new LTV-3500. The video quality is amazing! In our theater room we had a 75-inch Sony TV, and it was very good, but we needed something bigger, so after several months of studding the new Laser technology projectors I decided to go with the LTV-3500 from AWOL and it was the best decision we made. Now we have 100-inch screen, and it looks amazing. The LTV-3500 colors are so good. I could have gone with the LTV-2500 model because the room is completely dark, but I told my self lets just go with the best, so that is the reason we went with the 3500 model.

Very Good ALR UST Screen
The AWOL VISION Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) 100â projector screen (C100) for UST projectors is a very decent screen. It provides an enhanced viewing experience compared to a plain white screen (by rejecting ambient light from above). The 95% Ceiling Light Rejecting(CLR) design really does work. No measurement were made by me to verify the 95%. But the effect looks good. The AWOL screen assembly is good design, but I am not saying it is an optimal design. There are competitors to AWOL, but I donât see that anybody has an advantage over AWOL. One real down side is that these screens are not cheep from any brand. It is necessary to assemble and install the screen before using. It is obviously not practical to ship an assembled screen. I suspect that it would be correct to say that to assemble and install this screen is not for the faint at heart. I would expect many people are not mechanically inclined enough to handle the task. A single person can complete an installation if they are skillful enough. The screen was delivered to me on July 25, 2024, assembly began shortly afterwards (a reference date for the assembly instructions that I received). There was an included instruction manual and an online YouTube video. This review is only going to point out issues that I had and consequently what I did.First, the included instruction manual was dead wrong in the horizontal positioning of the wall mounting brackets. For the C100, the upper wall brackets should be between 55 to 65 inches horizontally apart (my opinion). In my installation, I was fortuitously to have wall studs ~64 inches apart just where I would like to have them (screen centered at the desired position). I noticed that when the screen is hanging on the brackets, you can slide the screen horizontally a couple of inches for a final position tweak. The ability to slide the screen on the wall brackets for a few horizontal inches is a plus.During assembly process, I used the bare inner frame to check the locations and the installation of the wall brackets. This is before the ALR screen material is installed on the inner frame. That was a great idea from AWOLâs YouTube video.A couple of other assemble instructions were not optimal, but do work especially if you understand the intent of the instructions.I gave the AWOL VISION ALR C100 screen 4 of 5 stars. Because of the spotty assembly instructions, I subtracted 1 star. However, AWOL has a good support team, they will listen to you and not blow you off or forget to return your emails.

Love it
I was nervous about putting this large screen together because it was just me doing it, but to my surprise, it was easy. Plan your project and lay out all the parts on a flat surface. The most difficult part is putting in the metal compression springs that keep the screen tight and secured to the frame, and that is easy enough with the tool already included in the kit. The picture comes alive against this screen, I am so happy about this purchase.

I bought the 120″ ALR screen for AWOL VISION AU Direct. This came from China and arrived on time. Unfortunately the screen material did come with wrinkles across. The seller gave tips to rectify but unfortunately they didn’t work. They didn’t hesitate and sent out a new screen material, which was flawless. I also didn’t have to send back the old screen. The seller was always in contact throughout the whole process. Always replied within 24 hours but usually quicker. I was kept up to date, and they made sure I ended up with a product I was happy with. Shout out to Winni, who looked after me.The product itself seems well built. Good viewing angles, and makes the projector watchable during the day. Instructions are ok. They did offer a video call service in case I needed further help, but I never used it. The wall brackets are flexible enough to place, so should suit most wall setups. The brackets also allow for some adjustments, if you only put one screw in, so you can make sure your frame is level before putting the second screw.

First impressions——————-Full disclaimer here is that I do not have an ultra short throw laser projector. I was not aware of that technology until I got this screen and it made me look further. Now I need a $5000 projector I guess â a slight upgrade from my sub $100 LED projector shown. The current setup is a laptop -> VGA input -> Cheap Projector (on grey-purple walls). The screen is almost as dark as the walls, which was a surprise, but itâs described by the micro reflector structured surface in the manual.Itâs HUGE and Beautiful (and smelly for 2 days)! We are building a new house and there is a wall with this screenâs name on it. However, I will not be disassembling this to move it. It was easy to build and install, but easy doesnât mean simple. It was a tight space to build. This screen boasts some pretty large improvement numbers like 80% picture quality improvement as well as 95% light rejection from ceiling lights (CLR) but, I did not experience such a drastic improvement that I desperately craved. In fact itâs arguably worse especially with dark scenes. I am debating flipping the screen upside-down (yes the arrow is pointing up right now) and hanging and flipping my projector to try to use the reflectors to my advantage. I did my best to take the best images possible to really showcase the screen, but in one image you can clearly see the laptop screen and the projected image from only 8 feet away (not filling the screen for now) â itâs not bright. Iâve seen video examples of these screens and they look like 4k plasma from all angles in daylight etc.. I did not experience that. Again.. cheap projector; expected an improvement still though.Pros—– -Beautiful 120â screen -Technology designed for USTL Projectors -Easy to assemble(small oopsies in the manual) and mount -Superior quality -Thin profile, Light weight -Really sturdy build (for a screen and aluminum extruded frame)Cons—— -Harsh chemical smell for 2 days (Vinyl) -Did not improve picture quality for cheap LED projector as expectedConclusion————-I definitely recommend this nice little product, I just canât give it the fullest review as I lack half the technology to enjoy it correctly.. it did not correct my cheap projectorâs poor image. This is no fault of this screen as itâs simply not designed for it. Iâm disappointed, but excited to now start looking at a way more expensive projector than I need. LOL. Iâve seen examples of these and they are impressive. The assembly was pretty easy. All the parts where there, although floating around in some cases. I noticed in the manual that the fiberglass rods are labelled incorrectly for qty which made that section confusing. I also forgot the corner pieces, but itâs okay for now. Quick measurements with a laser level and it was hung in no time. Due to me expecting more out of this, making it arguably worse; now leading to costing more later to get the most out of it, I am giving a 3.5 stars, but I canât give fractions so I am rounding up to 4 stars.

I got this for my theatre project, and couldn’t be happier. The picture quality really is outstanding, and hard to fully explain the sheer improvement over my previous set up.My overall approach to my home theatre is to get the cheap stuff first, then slowly upgrade to things like this. Originally, I just used a white wall – but then upgraded to one of those cheap sheets. So to say that this dedicated screen is an upgrade is really an understatement. The building process is really straight forward & relatively easy to do – but I would recommend getting the proper tools (laser level, etc.) to set this up 100% correctly. If you don’t think you can do it perfectly, then hire a contractor to put it up for you, as you will 100% notice an misalignment. The picture quality has really surprised me, as I am still using my mid tier projector and it really makes it pop. My next upgrade is going to be their short throw projector & I can’t wait.If you are looking to build a really nice theatre in your home, you really have to get this one!

[PROS] ðâUltra video quality to allow a legitimate home theatre experience, I tested video using a mid-range project and my family was extremely satisfied with videos (tested Amazon Prime/Netflix streaming)âThe packaging job is exceptional, the screen arrived in a large thinner box (I was expecting something massive) rolled up neatly with all the accessories and instructions organizedâSet-up process was a breeze, you will just need to fit suitable space in your home because the screen is massive in size compared to a standard television[CONS] ðâPurchasing a separate higher end projector is not required however to experience the best image results it’s something to keep in mind when they go on sale :)âAfter opening the box and unwrapping the screen, airing out the room for 48-72hrs is recommended because of a strong material smell[PRODUCT EXPERIENCE] â â â â â ðThe AWOL VISION ALR Projector Screen (100″ Fixed Frame) is currently priced as $1,850 at the time of this review. We removed our living room television (55″ Samsung OLED) to make room for the projector screen. The plan was to set-up the screen the same-day however because of the smell, I moved the screen to our spare room and aired out the room for 2 days with an open windows – the smell eventually disappeared and thereafter, I resumed the initial set-up process with the projector screen. The process took me about 45 minutes because I had trouble balancing and required a mini latter to help ensure the screen is perfectly straight on the wall.We leveraged our Epson project (value about $650) for testing, but I do understand for the ultimate experience I will need a $2000-3000 high end projector down the road (too expensive – may black Friday special will bring them down in cost). The image/video quality is impressive, you really have to see it in person to appreciate this technology but it’s extremely expensive when combing the cost of both the projector screen and projector itself. On the plus side, you will never have to visit a Cineplex theatre again 🙂

The projector screen comes nicely packaged and has a sturdy frame. It is an off grey colour which is the best for a projector to display the most vibrant colours. It is meant for a short throw projector which would be mounted directly in front of the screen, not one mounted to a roof.It was fairly easy to put together and hang, but you will need a couple of people to make this easier as it is a large screen. It comes with multiple parts and springs to keep the screen tight. If you follow the instructions it should be straight forward. The screen is an expensive upgrade from a normal cheaper screens and will last a good while!
