A lifesaver in summer
I’ve used fans that hang around your neck for years around the house, but they look pretty dorky and will blow off target if you need to work at unusual angles. This neck fan is not as effective at cooling me since most sweat appears on my face, not on the back of my jaw where it blows, but the fan continues to cool more reliably than a neck fan in non-standing positions or when exercising. I also feel comfortable wearing it out because it’s mistaken for headphones or if people ask what it is, they think it’s a great idea. The fan is quiet on speed 1 and lasts ~6 hours. Speed 2 reduces run time to ~4 hours and though it’s not loud enough to be annoying, it makes it harder to hear people at a distance over the fan noise near your ears and the sound of the fan might provoke questions from a cashier. Speed 3 reduces run time to about 2 hours and you probably won’t hear people who are over a few feet away. Walking around in the sun at 80F or higher, speed 3 feels necessary to me, but I sweat easily.Fan arms can be bent to keep the fans near your neck, though they tend to spread as you move. The fan will slip back and may fall off when you lean back, so it won’t work for all types of exercise, though I think you could put a lash around it to keep it on.Among me and my friends, we’ve gotten 6 of these fans with no issues so far in the last few months. The manual does warn not to overcharge them so you should try not to plug them in more then 2-3 hours if they’re near empty. I recommend getting a power plug adapter for your charger that turns off after a set time.

Neck Fan
Battery lasting a long while. I charged it in arrival. Used it at medium to high power for my exercise class 3 different days for an hour each time. Didn’t wear it for a week and a half. Then wore it to my family reunion on high for approximately 5hrs. 3 more days passed. Wore it again to my exercise class on medium for another hour – all in the original charge. I had misplaced the charging cord but have since found it and plugged in to make sure that it will be ready to use for my next class. Only thing that I will mention that my hair did get caught in it but since my hair is fairly short I was able to free it once I turned the fan off .

A little disappointed at the removal of the intermittent feature
This is my third or fourth purchase of this neck fan over the past few years. Each time I’ve needed to replace them was due to my own negligence; the first one was a casualty of working in a fast-paced retail environment sometimes six or eight feet up proved to be too severe of a fall for them after multiple occurrences, and understandably so; the fact that this happened several times and it *kept* working is impressive.Eventually I found straps (https://a.co/d/0iXC3HaV) that I slipped over each side and latched together similarly to eyeglass straps, allowing me to lessen the chances of the fan falling off my neck from the top of a stepladder, but also allowed me to disconnect quickly if needed; I replaced the carabiner with a small metal o-ring (https://a.co/d/0fGOOzRT) for a more slimlined fit.My most recent Comlife fan had a reasonably long life until I inadvertently discovered that one must be quite gentle inserting the USB-C charging cable to preserve the soldering for the charging port. I was in a rush to get it charging, pressed too hard and unfortunately this proved fatal for an otherwise flawless experience.I was excited to open a brand-new one tonight and was a little disappointed to learn that the intermittent setting – a brilliant idea and hands-down the MOST useful feature for my circumstances, allowing me to work my entire shift on a single charge – has been removed. It also now has a very prominent “COMLIFE” logo on both sides that I’m not entirely thrilled about instead of the previous pleasantly blank and nondescript appearance; I’m hoping my employer doesn’t have any issues with me now being a walking billboard for the brand.Overall I’ve raved about this neck fan but it now remains to be seen if this “new and improved” iteration is as capable as its predecessor. Battery life is crucial for me and if it’s diminished by inexplicably removing intermittent mode without addressing the aforementioned brittle soldering it might spell disaster.I’m cautiously optimistic but wary of potential disappointment. I just wish it would’ve been more clearly indicated that multiple significant product changes had occurred so loyal fans of this fan aren’t taken by surprise.

3 speeds to keep you cool
We are going through an extended heat dome period, and today the high was 104. On a trip to Atlanta last month I saw someone using this fan and took a photo. I found them on Amazon, of course, and I ordered 2 of them. I wear this fan indoors when the heat overwhelms my A/C output, and outdoors when I feed the birds, water potted plants, and walk the 250ft to my mailbox. I have not needed the highest fan speed to keep me cool outdoors as long as I am wearing a hat.No one has complained about any background noise when I am using my Beats headset with a Bluetooth connection while on a phone call, and I have asked if anything is audible on the other end. This fan could quite literally be a life saver. It has already made this summer much more bearable!!

Best invention to stay cool
I bought this the night before going to an outdoor concert and it was going to be in the 90’s with humidity. I saw other people with the same idea wearing it and they liked it. Wasn’t sure about the brand and to many to choose from. Looked it up on Popular Mechanics and they recommended a similar from same company but Amazon didn’t have it. I tried to check with consumer reports but their web site was down. So glad I got a good pair made the concert and walking in the heat a better experience.

The product is very well designed. While it might feel a bit awkward to wear in public, it works well and is easy and light to carry during hikes.

Me rafraîchir oui, risquer l’angine, non 😉
