Great piece of gear
I’ve had it for a while without issue. Greater range than to extender it replaced and much, much faster. If you need a wifi extender, this one is a great option. It was easy to set up and works seamlessly on my network. I can recommend this as an extender. I do not know how it works as a wifi mesh unit as I have not used it this way, only as an extender.

D-Link is Quality
I upgraded from the D-Link DIR-860L that I had since 2015. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that model and it was extremely stable. The only time I had to factory reset was when I forgot the admin password. I wanted this one because of the WPA3 security and to reduce buffering issues I had because of my first gen Chromecast, which I also upgraded to the 3rd gen model. In addition to the speeds for all my streaming, the price point was beautiful for under $90 including tax.Iâd love to utilize the mesh capability, but thereâs no need in an apartment. I hope to keep this for years to come when I upgrade my TV and Iâm certain Iâll maintain brand loyalty due to my positive experiences with D-Link. Lastly, using the app it only took 15 minutes to configure, but I required advanced settings for my living situation, so there was an additional 15 minutes, for 30 minutes total.

Not very strong above the uni.
Works great in a round parameter but not as good above it.

Not reliable, not stable. Disconnects multiple times a days
This product is just so unreliable. At this point you just accept the fact that this thing WILL drop all connections at least a few times a day, and on bad days itâs usually back to back. Not just Wi-Fi. Ethernet as well. The entire thing resets. I returned the first that I bought last year and prayed it was just a bad one off. Nope. Same issues as that one I have with this one.Cons:Resets in the middle of an online game.Resets in the middle of streaming videosResets in the middle of work zoom callsResets multiple times a day for absolutely no reason.Pros:It was cheap on Amazon prime day (insert clown emoji here). When Amazon offloads their 1 star products onto its customers for dirt cheap.

A decent choice if you’re looking to upgrade a mesh wifi
I did my homework for weeks but couldn’t find any definitive answers so I purchased these as a trial to see if I could pair them up with my D-Link AC3000 (DIR-3040) router and create a mesh network but nope, it didn’t work out. I wish this information was more transparent especially considering that it’s all under one brand.Anyways, a friend ended buying this from me so having to set it up twice in one day, I can say the process is very easy with the app. Signal is ok or decent but i don’t think it’ll cover up to 4500 sq. ft. With it’s compact size and clean design, you won’t have to worry about it being an eyesore or taking up too much space either. Overall, I would say that if you have a small home and is looking to upgrade to a mesh system so you can fill up some dead zones, this would be a decent choice without hurting your pockets. My friend is pretty happy with it and gave me some spending money after.

Freakinâ Awesome Wifi Router
This little thing is awesome!! Tried another traditional wifi router and couldnât get it configured to connect to xfinity. This bad boy was a breeze. Set up is thru an app⦠it auto detects the connection from the modem and configured the settings. I was up and running in about 5 min. Love the 4 Ethernet ports in the back⦠directly connect my computer to the router. Canât be happier with this router!!

No viene con mucha protección, y el router venia usado o fue de una devolución y lo revendieron como nuevo, en la parte de la base venia raspado como si lo hubiesen abierto, y la tapa venia sucia, con manchas cafés como mugre/tierra.

The mesh network works perfectly, setup is easy and the DLink app is simple to use, the only downside is the web management, itâs very basic and simplified, I expected having a similar interface to the old school DLink routers. Thatâs why I am not giving a five star rating, plus the fact that it is no longer supported by DLink since 2022, no firmware updates or support. Most probably Iâll replace the firmware by OpenWRT, which supports this hardware and gives way more control and additional features.

I can confirm all the negative reviews. I strongly urge you to avoid this product even at the reduced 99$ price.I decided to upgrade from my ISP provided router + TP-link extender to a mesh network for a better wifi experience. I decided to purchase this D-Link mesh setup given the good price. The setup was a bit fiddly but overall it was not to bad. But I quickly realized why most mesh bundles come in packs of 3. The mesh setup requires you to replace your ISP router function with one of the mesh routers. With a pack of 2, one of them needs to be wired to the ISP router which leave you with only one extra to place in the home. I ended up with essentially the same setup as my original extender without being able to reach further in my house. I strongly encourage you to purchase a pack of 3 or more if you want to actually extend your network. But the worst, ultimate worst issue is that the signal is unreliable. It constantly, constantly, drops connection. It was so unreliable, that I switched my work computer to the original ISP signal because it was affecting my work. My TV would pixel out or completely lose the stream and I was watching videos on my phone when I realized that I was on my cellular network since the signal dropped.Bottom line, I had a better experience with a cheaper TP-link extender then with this setup. I can’t even tell if the mesh function is providing a better experience due to frequent signal issues. I was considering purchasing another pack of 2, but at this point it would be a waist of money.

Arrived on time. Packaged appropriately. Works as intended. Itâs range works better than my last router and so far no complaints except that when you want to hook up a device that runs on 2.4 GHz you canât have the imesh extender powered on as intended with imesh system. Youâll need to enable a function to do that which drops the extender so you can flip flop manually for 5Ghz to 2.4GHz. The system as an imesh unit(s) are intended to pick between the two, 5-2.4GHz automatically for better internet speed. If you can disable smart connect while using the imesh system together, Iâve not figured out how to do so, so that I may connect certain devices which require 2.4GHz to operate. It does connect but as mentioned above and the problem I encounter. Over all if I had done my research and was more diligent, I might have learned what the product could or could not accomplish certain expectations or other connecting products. Over all I am pleased with this product and seller as I am able to return it without hassle! I should likely utilize the tech support and inquire before I do write this review as they may very well be able to provide some insight! Recommend this product and seller. Thank you.Update. So after doing some research I was able to disable smart connect. The smart connect is a function that allows the imesh system to connect to either 5GHz or 2.4GHz and will choose which is best at any given time without any device needing to switch to better frequency. Disabling smart connect allowed me to use both imesh units as one router in 2 different areas of my home. Iâm now able to utilize the 5GHz and 2.4GHz frequencies separately so that I can run devices which require 2.4GHz only. Great system! Very pleased with it. Definitely recommend this product.

I purchased this d-link x1800, as well as their compatible wifi 6 router to create a wifi mesh system throughout our house/backyard. I installed this with a hardwire backhaul between the router and 2 nodes. Unfortunately, constant speed drops, connection drop outs and a poor user interface with almost no usable information on the app is making me return this system. I ended up purchasing a TP-Link AX3000, which is a night and day difference. I’ll explain the differences below. The app: The app is absolutely terrible. I didn’t realize how bad it was until I used the TP-Link app with their mesh system. The problem is that doesn’t tell you any usable information, it’s way too basic, so you’re left guessing whats going on, especially during the setup phase. For example, the app doesn’t tell you if the nodes are running off of a ethernet backhaul, or wireless connection. The TP-Link does. You also do not have the option to change wifi channel frequencies, as the system apparently does that on its own (I don’t think it does it very well though). I also appreciate that the TP-Link app sends me notifications if new users join the network, or if a node gets disconnected. This one does not. The setup is also very specific, and I feel that if you don’t take the exact steps in the exact order, you have to redo the entire setup. Another thing is that it does not give specific information on how to setup a hardwired backhaul, specifically where to place my ethernet switch in relation to the main router and satellites, and also how to setup the isp router. The TP-Link has all of this information, and more, ensuring you’re setup correctly without any double NAT or loop problems.Constant speed drops: I ran into constant speed drops, that would sometimes drop to less than 1mbps, which would require me to reboot the entire system. Most of the time though the speeds would not be at the full 300mbps, and hover around 80mbps. I tested all of the backhaul connections and they were getting full speeds, but at least once a day it would drop so low that it wasn’t usable. I’ve done all the troubleshooting, resetting the entire system etc and it was still causing problems. Tech support could not figure it out, and I was left rebooting the system at least once a day. For reference, the TP-Link system I had setup in under 20 minutes and have not touched it since.Build quality: now I don’t care what the nodes feel like, as long as they work, but just feeling these compared to the TP-Link is crazy. These feel like an empty box, super lightweight, while the TP-Link actually feels solid. The ethernet ports also refused to hold in the clips, so I was forced to tape them to stay. Again, TP-Link clips right in and doesn’t move. All in all, I would suggest not getting this system, and highly reccomend going with a TP-Link mesh system. I’m sure some people could have this work, but since the app doesn’t let you control anything meaningful, I could not change settings manually that could have possibly fixed my issue.
