Great value, fast, works perfectly
This is the second one of these we’ve bought since we like the first one so much. I picked it because of the multiple charging USB-C ports, so I can use it with the docking station and dual screens that I have for my work computer. It is a well made, quick laptop with great features that compares well to examples that are much more expensive. For $700 this is a great deal in my opinion.

Not happy
Ordered this and received yesterday. It wonât connect to internet and my internet provider checked everything and itâs not my wifi – itâs the computer. I canât get support because the seller didnât transfer ownership to me and I canât get their information to transfer because seller hasnât responded to my message. I canât do anything because the laptop canât continue setup without wifi connection.

Superb value for work, OK for recreation
This is one of my favorite laptops that I’ve owned. Unless you spend a large sum, there will be compromises. For the most part, the 7420 2-in-1 is a tremendous value if you want to get work done and need a portable and small footprint with enough power and acceptable battery life. This machine is certainly fast enough, miles ahead of the i5-based processor I used to have in my HP X2 Pro which cost much more than this did at the time. Build quality is surprisingly good and the keyboard is better than I expected, by far. Other than the half-size up/down kyes which are annoying but usable, the overall hardware itself is excellent. Solidly built, attractive, sleek aluminum body (perhaps a little too sleek and you may want to skin it.) I replaced the RAM with 32GB and the HD with a 1TB stick. It’s upgradeable to 64GB RAM and a large HD if you need it – superb. Sound is far superior to what I had, surprising really, although I’m not a tremendous fan of bottom firing speakers – but for the most part it works well.Where it’s limits lies are as follows: Dell foolishly didn’t allow for a screen upgrade option. It’s certainly bright enough or business work. But if you’re looking to watch movies, you will need to crank up the brightness to get reasonable contrast so don’t expect it to do wonders on battery life. The complaint about the screen brightness is worse than it is but it’s clearly a step below my beautiful HP. But I do love the 14×10 resolution and can live with the 1080p resolution since 4k here is just too fine – unless you’re watching movies where it won’t make much difference but you might see a little improvement. I found the display too glossy for me and I put on a glare resistant screen protector. It also works well for protecting the screen using a pen. Also be aware that this will not drive a 4k monitor externally. That’s OK because I have a portable display that I take with which is only logically usable at 1080p anyway, so this feature may be important to you, but not really for me. That said, I don’t think this is your go to device if you intend to take it to work where you’ll use it on a big screen monitor frequently. It’s another odd choice I don’t understand but if you don’t need it and just as a laptop, it’s a compromise you’ll almost never miss. The touch screen is excellent. Even though I use a mouse, I love the option to touch the screen, sign my name when needed for documents – it’s such a boon that you don’t get with the UHD screen that was available at some point but no longer.Another limitation is in the battery life. I can get 5-6 hours at best, at least that’s what I’m seeing using power saving although I’ve never fully depleted the battery. It’s not the larger model that has the 64 battery. It’s acceptable but won’t win any awards. It’s also a bit heavy, although it’s reasonably weighted – I’d say it’s very dense, solid. This is not a tablet like a surface and something of a cross between a bigger laptop and an ultrabook.I love having the 1/8″ microphone headphone jack which has saved me on numerous occasions when I needed headphones. The video cam works reasonably well, love the built in privacy protector switch. There isn’t much I don’t like about it and, getting it on sale, it was a bargain. It’s a great pice.

When I got the laptop
I like that it is a touch screen and it looks brand new. When I opened it I found nothing broken and it looks like a new laptop and it has lots of USB type A/B.
