Fits Ranger Discovery Lightweight Electric Chair
I have been looking for a caregiver mount for our lightweight Ranger Discovery electric chair on and off since we bought it last year. I was thrilled to find this on Amazon though I wasn’t sure it would fit. It does! This chair is in the Air Hawk line of chairs, but larger in overall size, but I believe it will fit those chairs as well.Great flexibility in height and distance out from chair to allow for a comfortable stride of caregiver as well as on the fly adjustments for tight crowds if you need to narrow your profile and walk behind instead of alongside. My daughter has a a visual impairment (CVI) and complex environments are hard for her to navigate, thus the caregiver mount. The only thing that would make this better is if we could move from caregiver to driver position without disassembling. Might buy another joystick and swap the power cable between them so we can share driving duties when she is comfortable driving like on her main, larger Permobil power chair.Great addition to this chair!!

Well Made, Check Dimensions Before Buying
This is sturdy and well made, pretty much all of the pieces are anodized aluminum with the black bracket being painted steel. The one exception is the clamp, which looks to be raw aluminum. This listing is lacking dimensions, so I’ll try and add some:-The clamp will clamp on to poles that are a little under 0.75″ in diameter to about 7/8″ diameter. Any smaller than that range and it’ll be loose (you might be able to wrap it in tape to make it bigger), and any larger it’ll have troubles clamping both sides of the clamp firmly.-The joystick base is about 2-1/8″ diameter. The 4 mounting holes are maybe a hair shy of 3/16″ diameter (it’s right on the line). The four holes are not arranged in a square pattern. Two of the holes are 1-3/16″ apart (center to center) and the other two holes are 1-5/8″ apart (center to center). Do keep in mind it’s aluminum, so it’s pretty easy to drill out if your joystick is really close, but not quite the same.-The big silver arm/rod is about 7.5″ long, but because of how big the black bracket is, you’re only going to get about 6″ of height adjustment.-If you arrange everything in a straight line, you can get the center of the joystick base about 8-3/4″ away from the center of the post you have this clamped to. If you can’t go in a straight line, you’ll lose a bit of that length.-They included an aluminum locking collar of some sort with an 11/16″ inside diameter and I have no idea what it is forOverall, this is sturdy and stays in place when it is locked down. The biggest thing to make sure is that the dimensions will work with your chair. And even then, the clamp has some wiggle room (you you can wrap a post in tape to increase the diameter, etc if you need to)– so the main thing to check out is the joystick base.

Great idea in theory
This is a great idea in theory and we tried so hard to make this work and I’m not sure where thi gs were going wrong but it really made for a jerky ride for the passenger. We thought at first it was the way we were doing it but it didn’t seem to matter how we did it, the person in the electric scooter would just kind of be jerked around. Not really bad, but enough to be uncomfortable if they don’t have a lot of control. I really think this needs to go back to the drawing board because it’s a a wonderful idea, just needs some work.

Great quality but doesn’t fit all power chairs
I got this because my handicapped son doesn’t like using his power chair in crowds due to people stepping out in front of him, not moving out of his way, and not giving him room to maneuver his chair. This is a great idea that I’ve been looking for, for some time now. It is made of aluminum, very sturdy, and the craftsmanship is excellent. It will fit his small lightweight foldable power chair but not his main Invacare TDX SP power chair which is what I really wanted it for. I think with some modifications I can get it to work but I wish the mounting bracket, and joystick bracket, had more versatility or you could get the mounting bracket you need. It is made for the smaller power wheelchairs with tubular back frames which IS stated in the description. I was just hoping it would fit his big chair. All in all, it is an excellent product.

Very sturdy controller extension armðª
This kit has several different ways of mounting. The listing has vastly improved since I tried to install it. It came with everything I needed to support the controller but I had to go pickup some screws for the controller itself. This seems fair as there are many out there. So far it’s held up well to a couple of heavy knocks, do pay attention to how far the knob sticks out as it can leave scratch a bit of a trail into walls if you get too close. Was going to give it 4 stars but with the updated listing and dimensions, no qualms.

Would not mount to my Joy stick
This is a nicely made unit. It feels and looks like a nice aluminum alloy material. It appears to be universal enough to fit a variety of power wheel chairs. However the ad does not provide any dimensions or information to assist in determining if it will actually work on your chair. So it would help others greatly if more information might be provided in the future. The quality is pretty nice from everything that I see of it I like it. Unfortunately in our case the part that fastens to our joystick will not allow us to mount it. So we can not use it. If the seller provides dimensions and such then you can determine better if it will work for you.
