All I needed was this?!
I’ve seen these cards pop up before, but I always had it in my mind that they only worked if you’d had your GPS activated through the dealership. I can’t remember what that cost to have done when I bought my car, but it was something obscene. I would have gotten one of these ages ago had I known all you needed was a $30 SD card. There are a fair amount of dead/spotty zones in the surrounding rural areas and I’ve gotten lost without service before. Installation, if you can even call it that, is as simple as sticking it in the card slot, turning on the ignition, and pressing the NAV button.

Works well
I am very happy to have navigation on my Mazda 3 at such an great price. Mazda quoted me $397 for the card. It’s truly outrageous to charge that price for a tiny card. I have my old GPS which flopped around and was hard to read because the mount was junk. So I am delighted to dispense with the wires, etc.Didn’t have one address that I know has been there since the 1980’s.When you enter a favorite address, you can’t name it a person or a place. You have to do that in a different step.BUT it started right up as soon as I slipped in the card, and turned the car on. This is a critical step, because if you first start the car before inserting the card, it will program incorrectly and it can’t be undone.I haven’t gone anywhere yet so I can’t yet say anything other than that.I didn’t see any selection of closest way or fastest way. And since it didn’t come with a manual. I can’t say.

2021 Q2 Update – NOT LATEST MAP UPDATE! — BHP1 66 EZ1Q
This is NOT the 2023 Maps as it says in the product image.Files inside the card show this is the “BHP1 66 EZ1Q” update from Q2 2021, so it is already more than 2 years older than the most current update. If you really want the latest maps, you need to make sure the listing is for “BHP1 66 EZ1T” with a T at the end. (Updates labels are alphanumerically ordered)BUT… If you are using extremely old maps, this is still an improvement at about half the price of a genuine Mazda update. (Sign up for emails without actually upgrading and you’ll get a 30% off offer every month or two to make it $70.)My maps were from 2016, so these maps are still 7 years newer than what I was working with, and since I got it free from the Vine program it’s still a win for me. I would be a bit upset if I had actually paid full price for these expecting the newest maps. Also keep in mind that you cannot update this card any further since it’s not a genuine Mazda card. The Online updater toolbox will detect it is not OEM and won’t allow an upgrade, so save your original genuine Mazda nav card to update if you decide to in the future. As long as you are aware these are 2021 maps, the card did work as intended. Once installed, the car modifies the license file to lock it to that specific vehicle. It loaded fine and the maps are working well so far with no glitches or any errors that I could see. I’m happy to have newer maps that include some of the nearby traffic circles that weren’t included in my previous maps.

Works great in my 2020 Mazda cx-9
I ordered this card, looked up online how to replace card, popped this card into place, and it worked. The online video that I saw was not correct…LOL. But the SD card is in Armrest compartment, just not as shown.I took a picture of the location on my cx-9, it has an orange tab. The SD card is removed like most SD cards, just push down on top of SD card.It is a simple matter to remove the SD card and put this one in its place.Navigation took a few seconds longer to load, but only the first time.I was tempted to make this a 4 star instead of 5 because the product description says to email information to seller BUT there is no email address that I could find listed…. NOT Good. I got this SD card and installed it without sending an Email.

Cheaper than the official maps
This is much cheaper than the overpriced official map cards from Mazda. I put it in our 2019 CX-5 (swapping out the old one) and it processed it right away. Its still a static map that’s not updated automatically like a cell phone map, but it sure comes in handy in areas where there’s no cell service.

Much better than the dealer option
We live in an area where there have been a lot of new roads developed in the last 6 years. I popped in this SD card to our 2018 CX-5 and we had current maps. A great purchase!
