Updated post:This is an update to the original one.The lock: the original lock stoped working after 3 months. It would just make a winding sound but wouldnât lock and unlock. We have gotten the lock replaced. The app that goes to the lock is user friendly, but itâs like a universal app- not brand specific. But still works great. The lock itself does the job. Easy to program and visually looks great.Customer service: The original lock stopped working after three months, but I called the number on their website and was able to get through to someone right away. They directed me to an email and they contacted me back right away to get a replacement locks sent out. the replacement came quickly and they checked with me throughout the entire process to make sure it came and that I was able to install it. They also offered me a two year warranty and a full refund. Overall, customer service handled my issue timely which is why I updated my review.Original: Thought I would love this u til it stopped working after only 3 months. Do not buy

This lock does exactly what it says it will do! I havenât set up the key cards or passcodes for anyone but myself but I have set up the finger print, remote lock and unlock, added the gateway to make it wireless and communicate with Alexa, and obviously Iâve used the key.Instillation: it was easy enough to install with the preexisting holes. If you are buying/hanging a brand new door with no holes the lock comes with mounting mats for ideal placement and spacing which I thought was really nice. With the preexisting holes it took me 20 minutes from start to finish to install. I did have to drill a hole through the door for the bottom of the handle to attach properly. I read another review where the person removed that part that goes through the door so that they wouldnât have to drill a hole and they said it worked fine. But I wanted mine more more secure so I donât really have any issues with that.Set up:initial set up took a few minutes more than Iâd have liked because I had to reset the lock a couple times to get it to register with my app. Once I figured that part out it was smooth sailing from there. Adding users is easy. You can add permanent users, one time users, users that are on a schedule like the cleaning people or dog Walker, and you can add temporary users like if you want to Airbnb your house for some reason. You can do all of that from your phone on the app. Once you add users you can see a log of who accessed the lock, when they did it, if they locked themselves out by failing to input the data correctly and all of that.Mechanical operation:The lock itself turns smoothly. It works quickly when it locks and unlocks. It verbally tells you that the door has locked or unlocked, it tells you if the system locks itself and if the operation has failed. After multiple failed attempted the system will lock for security reasons for 10-15 minutes. The handle latch on the outside feels sturdy and operates smoothly, the handle on the inside feels sturdy and turns smoothly to open the door. You can turn the handle up or down which I guess is nice. My daughter has chubby fingers and turning it down she hits her knuckles on the corner of the bracket thing. Turing it up she does not.Biometrics (finger print):Here is here you may or may not have issues and since I have encountered them all you donât have to LOL!!!First things first when you set up the finger print for each user make sure you have the physical key on your person. If you put the finger print code in wrong 5 times the system will lock and you have to wait 10-15 minutes to try it again.2nd: when you set up your finger prints make sure the door is closed and you are in the most natural and comfortable position that you would most likely be in when using the lock on a day to day basis. The finger print scanner works perfectly every time once you have set it up BUT itâs not like the finger print scanner on your phone where you can place your finger sideways, partially on the scanner, or anyway that is not straight up and down. When you set your finger print you do not have to roll it around or anything like that just lay your finger flush on the scanner and try to do it in the same spot every time. If you donât it may not read your finger print correctly later.3rd: if you try the lock with your finger print and it doesnât work every time or it acts funny save yourself the frustration delete the stored finger print and do it again. I found that having the door closed while you do it is the best for setting it up because thatâs how it will be when you need to unlock it later. It helps you to position your hand comfortably to lock and unlock the door.My mother is handicapped and canât turn her hand so we used her middle finger and it works fine. So if the thumb doesnât work donât fret use any finger that feels comfortable for you.I also added my phone number and my email in 2 different accounts accidentally. I did have to call customer service which is overseas somewhere. They didnât answer but called back very quickly. They use WhatsApp so you can text and video call. My representative was Nancy. She speaks English well but there were some nuances that were difficult for her to pick up on but she was very very helpful and asked me to clarify anything that she didnât quite understand. It didnât take long for her to figure out what my issues was. I needed to transfer my locks from one account to the other to consolidate them. She didnât want to keep me on hold while she worked to find the solutions so she asked me if she could call me back. She did so relatively quickly. All together my service call took about 15-20 minutes. When she called back she verbally walked me through how to transfer my locks. I wasnât near the door at the time so she also texted me the written instructions in whatsapp. I liked that part because should I have any similar issues in the future I can easily refer back to the instructions . Overall, I am happy with my locks and the customer service that I received.

Got this lock about a year ago. Was easy to install and works fantastic.Had an issue with the digital keypad which was non responsive. Contacted the service team to report. Tara from the service team responded promptly and resolved the issue.

Awesome door lock.
Very nice modern looking door lock. We like that it uses our finger to unlock and lock the door. That way we do not have to reach for our keys. It also came with RFID tags that we can waive in front of the door to unlock as well. Very nice features easy to install as well. Had to contact customer support to get help on getting it set up Eunice from tech support was very knowledgeable and helpful on getting things done.

Nice looking, works great
I live in a mobile home park, and my mobile home has a sunroom that I can only reach by going out the front door, so grabbing the key all the time was a hassle. I love the keyless entry there, makes it so much easier to get in, especially when my hands are full. The only reason I gave it four stars, is because you have to tap it alive before you can put the code in and sometimes it takes three or four taps, that’s a bit annoying.

Lock was installed incorrectly by out handyman, and we couldn’t figure out to make it work. My husband called a customer service number provided, and they guide him step by step on how to re-install it. About 30 min later, lock is working perfectly. Not only functional but also sleek modern look to our new door!

After almost a year of using an electric door lock, I can confidently say that it has not lived up to expectations. One of the biggest issues is fingerprint identification. The sensor is inconsistent, often requiring multiple attempts to recognize my finger. On several occasions, it completely locked me out, forcing me to rely on the app to open the door. This is especially frustrating when you’re stuck outside, like I was a few times, with a dog in tow after a walk.Another problem is the battery life. The touchpad remains active even when not in use, which causes a significant drain on the battery. The last set of batteries I installed only lasted about four weeks, which is far shorter than I expected. Itâs inconvenient to have to replace them so often.The press buttons for entering PIN codes also leave much to be desired. They’re not very responsive, and sometimes they donât work at all. It’s as if the lock has a mind of its own, deciding when to function properly.Overall, the concept of the lock is appealing, but the execution has been far from satisfactory. Itâs unreliable, and I wouldnât recommend it unless these issues are resolved.

I’ve bought a number of Chinese-produced home electronics over the last few years that have bluetooth connections or user apps, from floodlights to home security cameras, and generally speaking the apps are terrible. glitchy and poor interface. This app works super well, easy and logical to use, and makes managing these locks a breeze.In addition, I was quite impressed with the ease of installation. I had one non-standard door that required a little ‘frankensteining’, but hardly the lock’s fault. The other door (the white one) was a new standard door, and it installed in honestly 5 minutes.The construction is solid and so far the battery life also seems good. I’ve only had to change batteries once every 6-7 weeks or so, and it gives you plenty of warning when it’s about to die.

My husband installed our Hornbill Smart Lock and said installation was fairly straightforward.I downloaded the TTLock app and set up our free account.I followed the instructions in the well-written User Manual and the Smart Lock was quickly fully functional using our fingerprints for access. See video included with this review.I purchased a separate Gateway (not included in our bundle) to enable full integration of the Smart Lock with our Google Home system.I followed the instructions to set up the Gateway included in the User Manual for the Smart Lock and added the Gateway device to our Google Home app.Both the in-app and voice commands functioned perfectly on the first try.Overall, excellent value for our money.The lock and grip set both look great and seem well-made, but I do have three disappointments:1. The interior door handle on our grip set had a small amount of paint missing when we opened the box, so there is some exposed metal. See image included with this review. I will be contacting the Seller to complain and request replacement of the handle.2. The free TTLock app that manages the Smart Lock & Gateway includes features requiring payment of an annual fee. I donât recall the product description of this item on Amazon mentioning any fees. The fee seems to apply to features geared toward users with multiple rental properties. Even so, potential purchasers should be notified upfront of any ongoing fees associated with use of this product.3. I paid CDN $45 for the Gateway. While itâs working well, it is very lightweight and made of cheap plastic and therefore seems overpriced. I donât think it will withstand much handling, especially if it is accidentally dropped. Buyer beware.Overall rating: 4.5* stars*but since half stars arenât an option in the app, I gave this product 5 stars

We love the app so much we bought two more locks to replace the other doors. The app is easy to setup and rich in functionality. Be sure to order the gateway unit for each lock if you want to use the wifi feature to integrate with your voice system or control the locks from more than 2â away. Dont forget to buy a charger too. Gateway does not come with a usb power source.

Compare to other smartlock in the martket, hornbill smart lock is most versatile and budget friendly . There are different way to unlock including fiber print, fab , passcode and traditional key. I am happy so far as my family doesn’t have to carry home key around. I had a small problem with my handle which I have to press down quite hard to open the door. The support is fantastic. Very responsive and they sent me the replacement immediately. I will update my review after I install it.
