Does as told and works well!
I have had good luck with intel network cards for many years. That work on any OS out there, which is an important thing to me. The cheaper off brand ones work, but not always in all the OS’s you use.

Refuses drivers, and different than picturedâ¦
Hereâs some photos or what I received. Heatsink is not removable without breaking clips and the newest drivers it supports are 3 years old. The official intel driver setup wizard for the i225-t1 just say âNo intel network interface detected, no drivers installed.â Kinda sketchy for the price. Plus I cannot find a serial number anywhere, including on the useless packaging what a joke.

TRUENAS Core Compatable
Lost my 10 G Intel X550T1 in a lightning strike. Running a 2.5 network is a cost cutting compromise. SSD write speeds at 300mps instead of 550mps – fast enough for home use. Compatible with Truenas Core and handles large packets with Ecc properties as needed by the system.

Not the advertised item
I received a HP OEM network adapter based on the Intel chip, which arrived in an unsealed clear formed plastic insert with no box, label, or documentation. While it functions, the unit is old and accepts only a 2021 driver. The port housing was also age-tarnished and this unit clearly was not stored in ideal conditions. I am considering a return, as newer/better items are available at the same price point with a better provenance.

Works
Works out of box with ESXi/vCenter 8.0.2

Pricey but works great.
IMO Intel makes the best chips for network adapters, the Windows drivers are well supported. My only complaint is the cost, which seems excessive for an adapter thatâs slower than 10Gbps.

Works great with TrueNAS
I bought this to upgrade my home server and backup systems to 2.5Gbps. I use it with a Qnap 2.5Gb switch and my transfer speeds have doubled! I don’t need 10Gb or higher but when I need to transfer the occasional tens of gigabytes, I’ll be happy.I currently use this on my TrueNAS SCALE machines and my friend uses it with his TrueNAS Core and SCALE devices. It was plug n play simple for me. No issues.
