OUTSTANDING Explanation and Resource!
Bought this tonight after watching videos and reading Network Text for College course in TCP /IP and could not get a good grasp through my assigned textbook. Looked up some web sites for tutorials, practice pages etc but they weren’t giving me the understanding. I found this book and figured “What could I lose for a few bucks ” and Man is it worth the $. I wish this guy wrote my textbook!!! Ramon, this is awesome.Outstanding explanations of network subnetting. I took a break and had to write this!!! Thank you!! btw I grabbed your other books also. I’m making a transition to IT from a prior career. This will definitely help on the journey!

Subnetting, VLSM, CIDR made easy.
The entire book was very helpful. I really got a much better understanding of IPv4 subnetting. The mathematical explanation laid out on page 25 was the link that made things finally click for me. It is a much easier and faster technique than what knew of. Great and easy to read. Very helpful. Thank you Mr. Nastase.

Good and quick
This book helped to understand subnetting quick and easy. There were excercises that really help cementing what Ramon was teaching. I recommend this for anyone trying to understand ipsubnetting the easy way. I got confuse with the Cisco router setup, not sure if he wanted the reader to do the same commands with a Cisco router. All in all I enjoyed it.

Simple, Easy, Informative.
Lots of IT geeks say subnetting is easy once you get it. Well, the issue is “getting it”, and this book helped me in that endeavor immensely.

WOW! Great Book!!
I understood and the basics IPs just by muscle memory. I never really took to the time to dive into what they actually represented and how we got them. This book did an EXCELLENT job explaining IN DETAIL IP subnetting. HIGHLY recommend!!

Book is easy enough to read and understand but I don’t think I could recommend this as more than supplementary information to a more robust course or text book. The book only covers one method of calculating network IDs, first host in a network, last host etc. which is understandable seeing as this book is aimed at beginners but it should also mention that this can also be done using binary. Even if it doesn’t cover them in depth, people know that what’s mentioned in the book is only one way of finding out network information and can do further reading if they feel the need.I would also strongly recommend only getting the digital version of this book. I ordered the printed version because I prefer to read off physical paper but the print quality is well below average. It also hasn’t been formatted correctly for printing because there are some links inside that are still just hyperlinks with text like ‘click here’ so unless you are reading it on a computer there’s no way to go to the page or even see the URL to manually type in the page address.Seeing as the Kindle version of this book is only a few dollars I can’t really say that it’s a bad value. But when comparing it to some of the free blogs about subnetting and even full networking courses on Udemy for only a few dollars more such as David Bombal’s full CCNA course with 80 hours of video training + downloadable resources, I would never say that this book is a standalone resource. If someone is serious in learning about networking or even just subnetting specifically I would recommend buying this book but only if it’s in conjunction with other material.
