Convenient and works great
I bought this bottle for travelling to avoid buying so many plastic water bottles. So far it’s worked out great! It does have some flavor from the filter the first few weeks but over time this improves. Also when filling the bottle, make sure to squeeze most air out of the bottle before sealing so that the water will flow through properly for drinking.

Size matters, lightweight counts. “Pack light”
I traveled for 7 months around the world, through dozens of countries, with Lifestraw 3/4 liter metal insulated bottle. My problem was the size and weight. The filter worked great and I drank water daily from any water source I could find. After great use, I’ve changed for Lifestraw’s smaller and much lighter soft bag water bottle. I need to ‘travel light’ because living out of a backpack for months requires size and weight to be small. Especially because I’m 73 years old and can’t carry a heavy backpack.

After a week of use it still has a bit of plastic taste
I’m hoping the plastic taste will dissipate, but it’s been a week and that flavor is still there. I didn’t have any trouble drinking from it like some others have.Edit: March 2024.The plastic taste is gone for almost all water I put in it. I have had a couple fills from the airport faucets leave a weird taste, but I’m attributing that the the original water flavor.

So happy with this!
I go hiking with daughter a lot and with this I’m not worried about the water I’m drinking.

Extremely portable
I’ve had other hard bottle life straw bottles and they pale in comparison to this one it’s super light super portable and the fact that you can squeeze it to push the water into your mouth without having to suck like a golf ball through a garden hose is nice.

Water tastes good. Came in handy as soon as I got it
We were out in the sun. My daughter and I ran out of water..they had water fountains so I filled this baby up and refilled her bottle and mine with peace of mind. And I just got it yesterday!

Docked a star for color that can not be found
I agree with the other reviewers – this is what the Katahdin BeFree aspired to be. It actually clips to a carabiner, doesn’t break and the filter is very high flow. There is a taste, but all my rubbery plastic bottles have them. I often throw tea bags in to help disguise it. The bladder portion is probably a Hydrapak in disguise.BUT, I have to dock them a star for the dark colors. I can never find the thing. It camouflages itself in my black pack, the bottom of my car, anywhere late in the day and even just when it’s been packed far enough down in a light colored bag. Both my husband and I have looked high and low for it during hikes and assumed it was lost only to discover afterwards that it was just playing chameleon and we had it all along. If Lifestraw wants to insist on a dark color they need to add an LED or reflective racing stripes or anything at all.

too big to fit in the front pocket of trail running vest
Itâs too big to fit by quite a bit. Disappointed as the advertising photo has a runner wearing a running vest similar to mine.

It is a pretty good filter bottle but the replacement filter is too expensive.
