Netgear Orbi AMAZING!
I had your standard router that came with my frontier fiber optic Internet. The signal is great if youâre in the same room as the router but once I traveled any distance from it the signal dropped rapidly. This was a particular problem for my ring doorbell camera and my ring driveway camera. Also when I was in my backyard around my pool etc.I was complaining to a Ring technician about my cameras buffering and taking so long to come up on the app. He stated that it was my router and I should probably look into a mesh system.I did my research and decided to go with the Netgear Orbi. Installation was really easy and the end result is unbelievable. I have maximum Internet speed everywhere not only in my house but in my backyard and halfway down my driveway toward the street where before I couldnât even get any signal from my old router. My ring cameras are coming up faster than they ever have.I highly recommend this system if youâre having trouble with slow Internet at your home.

Orbi Wi-Fi System works well
I had to replace my old router and teh Orbi sysem was recommended by an installer from my internet service. It seems to work well; however, my HP ENVY Printer has been acting funny ever since.

Fantastic product and easy to set up
My ranch-style house is large with the distance between my router and other rooms difficult to get a clear signal. Orbi was the solution. It’s easy to set up and works, flawlessly. Now all rooms are connected without issue. I am really glad I got the Orbi… I wouldn’t have been able to have the coverage without it.

New Install and working, but most reviews indicate problems later down the road
I received my Orbi Mesh Network router and two satellites two days ago and set them up yesterday. The setup worked as indicated. Once the router was set up the two satellites joined seamlessly. The only issue I experienced was that the serial number on the bottom of the router wasn’t recognized in the GUI. One of the things you can do in the beginning is change the password, but the GUI uses the serial number to complete the task. Since this was an Amazon Renewed product, I’m wondering if the serial number was changed but the label was not.I contacted Amazon support and they were unable to help me but gave me the contact information to Netgear (Which I already had). So I opened a ticket with Netgear to see if there was somewhere in the GUI that would show the actual serial number of the device. Interestingly, even though the serial number didn’t work with the GUI, the Netgear website accepted it and returned the proper device. I’m still waiting for an answer from Netgear.Once I had the router and satellites up and running, I was able to log into the GUI using the normal admin, password combination and from there was able to change the password and check the setup. The GUI looks very similar to the one I used with my Nighthawk wireless router, so the familiarity was there. So far, everything is working fine. I used the same SSID and password as my previous setup with my Nighthawk router and extender, so most of the devices I used reconnected. However I did have to re-login to some of the devices. I also turned my Nighthawk into a switch so I could use a few more wired ports than were available on the Orbi router. There were only three, but I needed four, so I took the output from one of the ports and plugged it into the main port on the Nighthawk. So now the Nighthawk works as a switch and my wired devices are working fine. The instructions say to turn off the WiFi portion of the second router if you are using it this way, so that was done, and I’m pleased with the results. Some reviews indicate that the Orbi works for awhile but for some unknown reason, will start having disconnects or other issues. It’s too early in the process for me to either agree or disagree with this. All I can say is, initial impressions are good. It’s working well. I haven’t checked it as far as streaming yet since that is the main reason I purchased this. So I will update this review at a later date. In the mean time, I’m happy with the result.UPDATE: I’ve tried the streaming capability and had the same issue as with the Nighthawk router. The stream stopped and started waiting for sufficient data to continue the stream. So I had no difference. I’m using Dish On Demand to watch programs that I missed. What I found was that the video resolution set in the Dish setup was for High Resolution such as 4K. I changed the resolution to 720 and the video On Demand works much better. The video resolution doesn’t look much different from the higher resolution selection, but it works much better. Which tells me that I could have made the change before getting the new router and it probably would have worked as well.Even though there wasn’t much difference between routers for the problem I was trying to resolve, I don’t think I’m going to send the Orbi back. I like the look and the technology of the new router, so I plan to keep it.

Killed it on the first try
I recently moved to the country and I work from home, the internet provider sent the typical stock units and they were absolute garbage for zoom calls and running multiple apps and desktops. The Orbi units were a breeze to install. I had the app and the three units installed in less than 30 minutes.Moving forward, I’ve had these installed for nearly 3 months. I have had zero issues with the Orbi units and internet reliably is not something I worry about anymore.

Interesting experience
Set-up is not as easy as the advertisement states, but customer service was easy to reach. My only issue with customer service was the language barrier. However, we were able to get everything up and running within 10-15 minutes (8 minutes of that was navigating the language barrier). Moreover, I did see one of the reviews mention the companies excessive messages to purchase their Armor security program and the Smart Parental Controls option. I would agree that I get a lot daily since purchasing. But in today’s sales and marketing climate I understand (fortunately being able to turn off notifications resolved this for me).So far the only issue that I have come across with this particular Orbi system is that it does not cover 7,000 sq ft. as advertised. Well maybe if you live in a a wood framed vinyl sided house that coverage might be true. But I live in a 3,400 sq ft. brick constructed ranch home. And as noted the satellite signal does not travel as well through brick apparently. So I have to purchase a third satellite to cover the remaining 2, 000sq feet roughly. I guess we shall see it that does the trick. But overall, I think it is a good product for the cost. Even having to purchase a third satellite when all added up my final payout is still $100’s under the cost of other mesh systems that I have come across.
