IPERF3 Performance
I have bought 4 of these so far, and 2 I gave away. I’ve been using IPERF3 for testing with my pair and decided I wanted to know exactly how much speed I was getting from these. When using just 1 as an AP, I got upwards for 180Mbps. The band steering features seem to be working well, and other 802.11ax features, as I disabled the 2.4Ghz interface and noticed a drop in speed by about 20Mbps. In a test with two extenders forming a wireless bridge, one in AP mode, the other in mesh mode, I noticed slightly higher speeds, as much as 210Mbps (with both laptops wired in to the ethernet ports). These devices work really well in this configuration, which is surprising as both of my laptops have Intel AX201 wifi cards. I was expecting the 1 AP configuration to provide more throughput. The worst configuration was using both in the mesh mode with the main router being a Ubiquiti AP that I have no management access to. In this configuration I was receiving about 40 to 60 Mbps. I believe the Ubiquiti might only support 802.11ac in my test. The downsides are that the web configuration is slow, there’s no access for SNMP (as this would be excellent for more network insight), and without proper mesh intelligence the performance could (emphasis on could) be bad for an uninformed consumer. However, the web configuration is really well thought out and guides most general use cases to an optimal solution. I’d recommend the Netgear EAX12 for most home and business installations as I’m rather happy with buying my set.If you lose network access when trying to connect to these devices, try accessing the webpage through IPv6 with the device’s built in MAC address. Try opening [ipv6address]/list_extender_device.htm in your web browser (with the square brackets) to see the device. There are websites that convert MAC addresses to IPv6 addresses which should help you get access to the device.

Great range and easy set up
I’m using several of these in a large warehouse and have had much success! Would recommend.

Drops wifi for no reason, customer support stinks, and the setup didn’t at all go as instructed
Wow, what a disappointment. The install of this wifi extender reminded me of the 1980 vintage tech–where none of the install went at all like the instructions said it would. Their “nighthawk” iOS app is worthless–won’t even connect to the unit, which is how they want you to do the install. Eventually I figured it out using the ip address and a laptop, but then all of the “wizard” assistance for setting it up were non-existant…Once I got it up and running it worked… and then didn’t. For no reason at all, it just stops working and no device (laptop, iOS device, etc.) will connect to it. The only solution so far seems to be unplugging it and plugging it in again.. harking again back to the old days of technology.Tech support reaches a very difficult to hear and very thick accent of a tech support guy who apparently is working in a gymnasium, because all that he could hear was the noise in the background, which I too could hear. He knew nothing about the product and had to put me on hold for even the simplest of questions. He did confirm that their Nighthawk app “is tricky” and “sometimes doesn’t work,” then proceeded to tell me that “it’s complicated.” He offered no solutions to the intermittent problem of the unit ceasing to work, even though 3 of the 4 indicator lights remain green. The 4th red light meant that strength of connection between this extender and “the” device (as if only one device can connect to it) was poor… which is obviously the issue.Unfortunately Amazon’s return policy on electronics like this prohibits getting my money back–so BE WARNED that this is, sadly, not a good one to buy. I would recommend AGAINST buying this.

Excellent signal extender
The extender works great! No more problems with the weak signal from a distant router.

Great extender but setup is tricky
My Wi-Fi router wasnât quite reaching back into my bedroom, which is across the house, so I bought this extender. The first one I bought came with instructions that werenât very clear so I resorted to online tech support. I managed to get it hooked up via my laptop and it worked greatâ¦for about a day. Then it just stopped working all together. I did a factory reset, I did every online troubleshooting you can think of and no avail. I had to reset both my modem and router to fix my internet issue. So I bought a second one, thinking maybe I had received a dud originally.Hereâs weâre the set-up comes into play. Both my modem and router are NETGEAR and use the Nighthawk app and so does this extender. I discovered while resetting my router that I can add the extender as well. The instructions they give you in the box: toss them! Download the Nighthawk app, tap the three lines on the top left-hand corner, tap âset up a new nighthawk systemâ and select ârange extenderâ. It walks you through everything else very easily. So far everything is running smoothly and functioning properly. If anything changes Iâll update my review

Great help in my home
This extender is easy to set up and use. Itâs been incredibly helpful in reaching a part of my home that had a very weak signal. Now I donât have to worry about video calls dropping or excessive buffering when streaming shows.

so quick and easy to set up via the app – simple to install, my Foxtel box did not pick it up, so rebooted Foxtel and it picked it up instantly 🙂 the household was good to go in about 10 minutes.

So easy to set up this product. We use it for our security cameras that are a bit too far away from the main router. The cameras work great now with better live stream picture.
