10 gig ethernet on the desktop
Finally a reasonably priced desktop 10 gig switch. It just works. Unmanaged, but I didn’t need to manage any of the ports.

Works pretty well
I got the QSW-2104-2T-A-US (New). Not sure what’s new about it, but the lower price was nice.It works well and at full rated speed on all the ports.I did experience it restarting or having trouble negotiating on some of the ports right after rebooting it, and it seems to be sensitive to being moved around, though hard to say how much of that is due to the switch or the connection (probably the latter I’m thinking), but nothing it didn’t resolve on its own within like a minute. I don’t notice any issues throughout the day, never had any interruptions when using it, so if it does restart it’s exceedingly rare and probably quick.Best of all, it’s cool to the touch. Sturdy metal casing, nice large rubber feet and doesn’t overheat. Contrast with the more expensive Netgear GS110MX/GS110EMX which has also had a spate of failures due to overheating. That’s 2x10GB, 8x1GB. This is 2x10GB, 4×2.5GB and doesn’t get anywhere near as hot. Netgear needs to get their act together. They actually dropped the price on those GS110 switches, probably in response to the release of this one which is selling out like crazy. I already bought a second from Amazon and there’s a few weeks wait before it ships.

Fast 9+ Gbps throughput with the 10GbE ports
I purchased one switch and now have a second on the way.I’ve had no problem getting 9+ Gbps throughput with the 10GbE ports. And over 2.2Gbps throughput from the 2.5GbE ports. And the switch does not get hot. It has been well worth the price.I’ve done multiple 500GB+ transfers between the 10GbE ports and the 2.5GbE ports and have had no issues.Transferring from a PC connected to one 10GbE port and two servers connected to two of the 2.5GbE ports. Transfers have been consistently fast and smooth with the very large 500+GB of data. With file sizes over 70GB each.EDIT: I’ve been using two of these for five months now, and I have had no issues with them. I am currently using both switches inline. With a 10GbE uplink on one switch. And then the other 10gbE port going to the second switch. I then have my Plex UHD machine connected to a 10GbE port, on the second switch. And the eight, 2.5GbE ports are connected to eight of my unRAID setups.

Complete Garbage
Dropped packets and slow speeds. They perform worse than a cheap 10/100 switch. Don’t bother.

Great 2.5GB switch with 10GB
Excellent 2.5gb switch for the price.Works great for connecting local machines epically NAS computers
Akos Horvath –
No issues so far, have one 10gbps port connect to my modem (I have 8gbps internet) and the rest of my network connected to the 2.5gbps ports. A few ports running 1gbps and the rest 2.5gbps. So far I have not seen any slowdowns or link negotiation issues (as described by other reviewers), itâs been working 24/7 since I got it a few months back. For the price, Iâm quite happy with it.

Used a DAC to attach it to my UDM PRO and it worked immediately out of the box .

working perfect , took time for ship but ok

Changing my review for this as this was def a user issue and not a device issue.Works great over 10gb. Can get my full 3gbps connection to my main device now. Nas can also connect via 2.5gb. saturates the connection which is great.
