My Favorite Gaming headset
Over the probably 15 years of gaming semi-competitively I have come to use a lot of different headsets, from Razer to SteelSeries or HyperX, this is by far my favorite. The comfort of these headphones are otherworldly and I don’t experience ear fatigue after going long periods of time while wearing them. I have heard complaints about the depth of the spatial audio but have never experienced anything of the sort, as I am able to track footsteps in games such as Call of Duty and Rainbow Six Siege perfectly fine. The volume slider is analog and directly controls system volume which is a huge boon for me, but may not be for everyone. The microphone on this headset is currently the best in class (as far as I’ve seen, heard, or experienced in a headset) and is absolutely great. My only suggestion is that you change the microphone mode to broadcast in Razer synapse, as it makes your voice sound much nicer to people you are playing with.TLDR: Great headset, great audio, great microphone, great for gaming, great build, great comfort, great buy.

Just perfect! Good lookin’!
I needed a hadst with an amazing mic and noise isolation and let me tell you, this headset is on of the best for overall use, not just games. I use these for listening to music/Youtube videos all day as I draw. I have noisy people above me in an apartment, and these do extremely well in blocking their noises. I love the fact that i can listen to things for the entire day and the Highs and low noises in content did not hurt my ears, all sounds were still separate and balanced. Good example would be shooting guns in a game, sometimes ear piercing in a lot of headphone, but with these! They were not too loud, and I still hear footsteps of enemies very clearly C:As for the mic, my friends said my voice sounded better than me using a Yeti microphone, so that is amazing to hear considering I didn’t really change much of the mic settings in Synapse at all. Oh yea, and in Synapse, you can change not only equalization on the stereo, but also the mic, and THX/Spatial audio choice! So the price for these, for something that uses wireless and a Bluetooth option? Detachable mic and around 70hrs???? Totally worth it!

major plastic component irreparably shattered in under 8 months
that a headset of this price point would have a critical structural failure after owning it for less than a year is unacceptable. the plastic casing and multiple interior plastic components where an earcup connects to the headband spontaneously shattered under completely normal use while on a (probably) ordinary human head. i take special care not to manhandle electronics that i pay for, this failure rests entirely on razer’s poor manufacturing standards. efforts to carefully reassemble it were rendered impossible, because the problem wasn’t a screw coming undone, but the hard plastic pieces holding everything in place both on the outside and the inside themselves failing. as a result, the headset can (even after having to tape it back together as a last resort) no longer fully rest on my head.product works quite well on a technical level, make no mistake. if you weren’t born under an unlucky star like me, you probably won’t have any complaints. but a 200 dollar headset has no excuses to fail like this in under a year. razer would have to pay me or otherwise compensate for me to buy another one of these after this. my only option is to seek a hardware manufacturer who can approach this level of audio quality but doesn’t make the conscious decision to produce their premium devices out of cheap, brittle plastic (fat chance, though).

Great headset, but avoid if you have a bigger head
I want to start out that I actually loved this headset. Unfortunately, the headset is prone to failing for folks with bigger heads, like myself. The headset is designed in such a way that there ends up being a lot of pressure on the hinges at the base of the headband/top of the rails that act as the adjustable slider for the main driver housing. This pressure from taking the headset on and off, even when being careful, cause the plastic housing to break and then the ear piece to become detached from the headband, making the headset unusable.I had one set fail and did a replacement with Razer through their warranty program. While the folks at Razer were great to work with and they replaced the headset, it didn’t resolve the issues outlined above. Eventually, the second headset experienced the same failure, even with me being more cautious about over extending the headset when putting it on/off. For the price, I would expect better build quality and a more robust bracket than what is present. Because of this, I am pulling 1 star off my score. The sound quality is great. The large drivers on this give a great sound stage for a closed ear headset, with great balance between the lows, mids, and highs. The one drawback that some may find is that it doesn’t get as loud as other headsets/headphones I have used in the past. This meant there were times when I was really getting into the song I was listening to and was hitting max volume. The design also provides a lot of noise dampening. The closed ear design with the big ear cups meant that when I put these on, I would only hear very loud noises, such as lawn mowers right outside my apartment. The comfort was perfect for me. The headset was snug without being tight for my big head. The ear cups and headband had soft padding that meant I could wear the headset for long periods without discomfort. They were so comfortable that I would occasionally forget I was wearing the headset. The buttons and volume dial were responsive and easy to use. I never used the mic as I have a standalone mic on a boom, so I can’ comment on that aspect. The range is excellent. I could go anywhere in my apartment and still get perfect signal. It wasn’t until I went to the mailboxes on my floor with the headset on that it finally lost connection. I estimate that it was good for ~40 feet through multiple walls before it gave out.In the end, if you have an average to smaller sized head, I think this is a great headset. You do need to be careful not to torque the headset too much, but it is otherwise a home run. If you have a bigger head, then I would advise you look elsewhere as you will likely experience the same issues I did and be out ~$200.

Great headphones. The audio quality is amazing, good fit and they perform consistently for longer sessions. I couldn’t be happier with them. We will see durability but so far they looks very promising.

I’m editing my previous review of 4 stars and dropping it down to 1 (consider it 0 if you’re reading this, but i can’t leave a 0 star review).A quick note before i get to the rest of this headset review – I bought this headset as soon as it was released because i was in the market for a new one and this seemed to check all the boxes – great mic, long batter life, comfortable, wireless. I was initially happy with the headset, and a few months later i bought the brand new Basilisk V3 Pro mouse that they just released also and that mouse was a nightmare – I had to get it RMA’d 4 times before i got one that worked properly. I also picked up their new Razer Atlas mousepad when it dropped because I was going into full Razer mode. But just like some of the other reviews you’re seeing here in regard to build quality of this headset, mine broke in the EXACT same spot. I’m always super careful with my electronics, especially when i’m spending over $300 on a pair of plastic headphones (WHICH I EXPECT TO LAST LONGER THAN 10 MONTHS), and i have never dropped or smacked these into anything. The other day i was just taking it off my head and the force of simply separating the ear cups off of my head sent plastic bits flying. The only positive i can tell you about this headset is the battery life, and that’s IT. It was not comfortable to wear for extended periods, always left my ears hurting because the cups are poorly designed. It also has wireless connectivity issues, it’ll turn off without any notice on me for multiple times in a session, and sometimes the audio is will be working fine 1 second and the next it’s all crackly and distorted, forcing you to turn it off and on again to have it work properly, which is not ideal at all when Iâve had it happen in critical points within a game. Also the buttons on the headset are very poorly thought out in terms of design and their functions.Razer is a company that continues to live off initial reviews of their products, the ones that donât have enough time with them to understand the horrible build quality that they offer. This is absolutely the last Razer product i buy in my life.
