“I am very good, but I could be better.”
“My official rating is 4.8/5.0. This is my opinion on the Razer Nari Ultimate. To start, and most importantly, they are quite good and of excellent quality, and I highly recommend them â 100%. They are very enjoyable. Let’s begin with the positive aspects of the product. The first point is that it’s a very comprehensive package; it comes with everything, including cables and guides for use. The audio is another positive aspect. It’s very pleasant and incredibly immersive when gaming or watching movies, especially within video games and, notably, horror games. You can feel the presence of something chasing you or breathing down your neck. The second point is comfort. They are quite comfortable to wear; I don’t feel any extra weight, and they don’t pull my hair. I also don’t struggle to adjust them to fit my head perfectly. The third point is Bluetooth. It’s the first time I’ve used headsets like this, and they’ve given me a lot of confidence, even though I tend to be quite skeptical about anything Bluetooth. As I mentioned before, I highly recommend them, and if you want quality, these are the best, and it’s worth buying them. Now, let’s discuss the negative points that I feel are somewhat unnecessary, but it’s important to mention the downsides as well. The first negative point is the battery and its charging system. I combine these because they are related. The headphones should have a bit more battery life; I feel that 4 hours is too short if I want to do something other than gaming, such as watching movies or listening to music. However, I believe this is due to their own power for vibrations and everything. Another issue is the cableânot that it doesn’t have a USB-C cable, but the problem is that if you use it for 4 hours, it gets discharged, and you have to connect it to another electronic device. It’s not very clear whether you can use a phone charger or if it’s mandatory to use a computer, gaming console, etc. I would have liked to know if I could connect it directly to a charger, and I don’t do it because in a power change, it could damage the battery. So, I better follow the recommendations in the manual. The third negative point, which I see more as a potential future issue, is the unnecessary wheel for adjusting the game or chat volume. I think they could have left it with buttons or something different because I feel that with its current design, it may wear out in the future, and finding a central point might become challenging due to wear and tear. As mentioned before, they could have left it more like a system with volume buttons, maybe with 3 or 5 levels for game and chat audio. I feel that there might come a point where I won’t know how to adjust that wheel to the central point. To conclude, the microphone has a peculiar issue. It seems to capture a lot of game audio, or more precisely, it picks up the voices of people around me, causing considerable echoing. The microphone itself is not bad; it’s quite good and compact, but the problem is the excessive bouncing of audio, at least in shooter games.”

Replaced my Astro a40 + Mixamp, I couldn’t be happier.
I’ve been using this headset for almost two weeks. I bought this after having owned the Astro a40 + mixamp for quite a while, a year or so? Maybe more. The dolby surround sound on the Astro’s sounded fine but was never really a good replacement for having multiple speakers around your room. The surround sound on these Razer Nari Ultimate’s isn’t great either. Both headsets sounded like I was either underwater, or just hearing some sounds while others were being washed out, after looking around at other reviews, it seems to be just what you get with this type of surround sound and the game and your media you’re playing through them will have a big impact on the sound quality as well. I turned off surround sound on my Astro’s long ago and never cared to turn it back on because everything sounded so much better than with surround sound off, the same is true for my new Razer headset, but the sound is somehow even better. Small background ambient details sound clearer, environments sound more alive. Maybe it’s because the headset does a better job at drowning out the background noise in my real world? The cup fits completely over my ear on my big over sized head. It doesn’t SQUEEZE my head like a vice grip. There’s no sharp edges or nooks and crannies to catch and pull and tangle my hair on even. The ear cups swivel up, down, left, right to make a secure fit over your ear, and they also feel comfortable when you wear them off your ear or partially over your ear. The padding on the ear cup is very soft, i’m surprised it even makes as good of a seal as it does on my ear but it’s pretty good at silencing the rest of the room when I’ve got them on. I was skeptical about the “cooling gel” padding but it’s the real deal. Very comfortable. Adjustable mic pulls out and pushes back in. I’ve not had issues where the mic is too loud or broadcasts the rest of my room. The controls for volume, and adjusting voice/game playback balance are on separate cups and while the headset is a bit bigger than what I’m used to, I don’t really notice any issues with the size of the headset. The Hypersense haptic technology is nice, I thought it was just going to give me a headache because I’m pretty prone to headaches if I wear a tight fitting headset that’s too loud for too long. The Hypersense isn’t something I leave on, but I turn it on if I’m watching a movie. For some video games there’s just too many low tones to activate the vibrating haptic bits and pieces and makes it sound like i’m listening to someone’s ghetto blaster subwoofer. Turning the setting lower makes it much more subtle and makes it acceptable for my games. Used responsibly, the Hypersense haptics feature is well worth the money in my opinion. The wireless is a godsend, I’ve been a firm believer that you need dedicated optical or input jacks for each sound channel for a long time. I’ve since converted. I sit close to my pc but it’s nice not having wires rigged to my scalp and tangling in my long hair. Hopefully the battery lasts longer than the one in my cell phone. The Razer Synapse software has lots of options to adjust or just turn off the lighting on the side. I like the lights, but with the lights on I get about 8 hours until the headset just goes dead without warning. When the headset runs out of juice it just shuts off, no warning, just a soft beep tone and silence, like you’re in a coffin underwater kind of silence. On the flip side it shuts itself off after 15 minutes of no sound from the pc. So if your computer is idling it’ll turn the headset off and save juice. It might be the most expensive headset I’ve owned. I really like it. $200 bucks at time of purchase, my kid will understand when he’s $200(+ interest) short on his college fund.

I decided to do post a review for these headphones as I decided to upgrade, and couldn’t find anything substantially superior to this, surprisingly.I tried out the Sony XM5, which have amazing ANC, sound amazing on mobile but terrible on PC, and both my ears and top of my head start to hurt after 2 hours of use, and even if I take a break for a while it quickly gets uncomfortable again. So then I decided to give the Razer Barracuda Pro a go, and they sound maybe a bit better than the Nari, have very seamless transition from the dongle to Bluetooth, but the ANC is terrible, I can hear white noise, and there isn’t a huge difference compare to ANC off. They are a bit more comfortable than the Sony’s XM5, but still hurt after a few hours on the same spots. So the Nari if by far the most comfortable of the 3 (I can wear them all day with no issues), sound quality is good (I am not particularly picky). 4 years later and the only issue that I have is that the microphone quality seems to have taken a dive, my friends frequently have issues hearing me. I haven’t tried to sort it out because I just switched to my laptop’s built in mic, so it could be something fixable with a driver update or such.Would love to have a Nari with the same bluetooth capabilites as the Barracuda (so it could be used on mobile), without a microphone stick and with decent ANC. Would tick all the boxes for me.
