Easy to use, easy to install
This product is really easy to install (took probably 10 minutes total), the app is smooth and functions well, and the life of the battery is long so you donât have to charge often. I was worried because our curtain rod had a connector piece to lengthen and so it wasnât a perfectly smooth glide but this kit comes with a plastic piece to put over it and make it smooth. Works great! Would highly recommend to anyone with high ceilings or just doesnât want to yank on curtains to open and close all of the time. I want to get them for our whole house!

Great addition to smartphone setup
Easy to install on rod style curtain, and super easy to use. Works well without integrating into Alexa, HomeKit etc, by simply setting an open/close schedule, however it can also be integrated via addition of a hub. Also has a silent operation mode which is almost undetectable if the default operating mode is too loud in the morning. Overall very satisfied with this product.

Honest Review of SwitchBot Curtain 3: Quiet, But Room for Improvement
I recently purchased the SwitchBot Curtain 3 and thought I’d share my thoughts for anyone considering buying it.Pros: Does Its Job: First off, it effectively opens and closes the curtains as it’s designed to do. No complaints there!Cons: Battery Life: One downside is that the battery life hasn’t seen any improvements from the previous version. If you were hoping for a longer-lasting battery, you’re out of luck here.Main New Features: Quiet Drift Mode: One of the selling points is the Quiet Drift Mode which claims to operate at 25db. While it’s definitely quieter than the standard mode, I wouldn’t say it’s as quiet as advertised. Also, keep in mind that you can only enable this feature when you schedule the device to open or close. Magnetic Stop: The device is supposed to remember where to stop if you put the supplied magnet on your curtain rod. I haven’t had the chance to test this yet, so I can’t speak to its effectiveness. However, it’s worth noting that the magnet attaches with adhesive, so I’m not sure how easy it would be to move it to a different window. In summary, the SwitchBot Curtain 3 generally does its job well, but there are a few areas where it could see improvement, most notably in the battery life department. The new features are nice to have, although they come with their own limitations.Overall, it’s a decent product, but there’s room for improvement in future versions.

Works great, easy setup!
Iâve got a huge smarthome setup and have automated quite a few things, so when I ordered this I kind of knew what I was getting myself into. I ordered the product and just let it sit for a while because I was dreading the typical setup > get confused > something goes wrong > troubleshoot for hours loop that typically comes with this kind of product so when I finally got around to installing it, I was pleasantly surprised. The setup was super easy and instructions were clear and concise. It came with everything you need and there were no serious issues.Attached some videos to show the smooth running. I was actually concerned it would struggle with the bump in the curtain rod where the smaller one goes into the bigger one but it had zero issues with it.I also ordered the solar charger to go with it and it snaps right it and hangs from the base of the device, keeping it in sunlight to charge with almost zero installation outside of unboxing and plugging it in.A couple important notes for others that I didnât know before buying: these arenât issues at all, but just stuff to be aware of that I didnât see or didnât think about before hand.1) If you have a support in the middle of your curtains (like a 3rd bracket in the middle to hold your curtains up), youâll need a second SwitchBot to open both sides and canât use just a single one.2) The solar charger does hang down from the main switch bot and would be visible during the day if you had sheer curtains. Some folks may not like that. Also, if your SwitchBot is defaulting to having your curtains all the way to one side or the other, it may not have the solar charger in the window long enough to charge. You CAN fix this, however, because theyâve got a really neat feature built in where you can tell it to auto charge during the day by bringing the SwitchBot into the sunlight no matter where itâs at, when it needs to. This just means your curtains wonât be at your preferred setting for a bit while it charges, but it really beats taking it down and charging.3) Lastly, you do need a slightly thicker curtain rod – not crazy thick, maybe about the size of a US nickel or a little smaller. I have a pretty thin curtain rod on one side where I started, but itâs the telescopic kind so the other side is thicker and I flipped it over and it was fine. The little arms that hang on the rod actually have a lot of room to adjust to account for a lot of sizes, but they can only get so small so if youâve got very thin curtain rods, be advised. That stuff all told, Iâm very happy with mine and am planning to buy a few more now to fill up my curtains! Iâm enjoying it quite a bit!

Wait for the Curtain4 or better yet, Curtain5
Bought two Curtain3 devices to open a bedroom window curtain from the middle as they advertise. The first unit installed just as expected, worked great with the timer in Quiet Drift Mode daily. However, the second unit would not install and complete the connection to the app. Contacting the support personnel was nothing but frustration. First, no one answers the phone, second, contact through email resulted in nothing more than them parroting back the instructions provided with the unit and on the app. Finally, they requested a video of me going through install process, I guess to prove what I told them was accurate. After I sent them the video, they ghosted me. Meanwhile, I tried installing the second unit as a separate window which worked. EXCEPT, the unit could not make it over the telescopic joint in the curtain rod. Their solution, which is provided with the unit, is to apply a thin piece of aluminum wrapped around the rod. I tried installing it several different ways, none of which worked. Besides, who wants to look at an ugly clump of tape and aluminum in the middle of the rod when its open. Barring miraculous late response from the support personnel, the unit is going back.

Opens and closed curtains with ease. The quiet feature allows the bot to open at a much slower pace to ensure only a little noise is emit. It was also very easy to install.Recommend purchasing the SwitchBot hub so you can connect it to your google or alexia.

I have these Switchbot curtain rods now little over 2 months and I am very pleased with them. I use them in combination with Ikea rod and curtains and it works great. The opening and closing in silent mode is very quiet and the additional solar panels keeps the Switchbot charged during the day. With my additional Switchbot hub 2 I can control the opening and closing over wifi and via voice commands. Overall I’m very happy my my purchase and recommend these products.
