Solid Advise, Quick Read
It’s all too easy to go into a networking situation thinking you can just wing it, just be yourself. If you are not purposefully and prepared, you will get out of it what you put into it. This is a simple and easy read that will have you smacking your head and saying, “now why haven’t I been doing this?”. Obvious advice some might say, yet most of us don’t practice it.

Game changer for networking
This book has been an invaluable guide to successful networking meetings. I’m exploring a new role in a new city, and following this book’s structure for concise and productive conversations has been a game-changer for making professional contacts and learning about local opportunities in the field. The easy to follow formula is helpful to this introvert to ensure the conversation keeps moving. I’ve gotten positive feedback from contacts that our conversation was valuable to them, and it was one of the most enjoyable networking calls they’ve had. Quick read, effective process – buy it and try it now!

Back on the market
This quick guide is essential to job seekers. I read and followed it loosely during Covid, but now the market is tighter and i recognize following each step of the process will be the difference maker.

Not really applicable if you are looking for a job in IT
It is always good to network. However, the networking techniques described in this book is more suitable for someone looking for a job where more soft skills are needed. IT world is driven by what tech stack you have and what an employer is looking for. These days, it tends to be very specific. If you don’t happen to possess a high demand tech stack, networking probably will not be the most effective way to find a job.

Valuable read
Great book that provides a nice framework for getting yourself organized for the meeting. Glad I read it. My only issue was I ordered it for my basic Kindle. There were a number of live links in the book so that the reader could complete worksheets. That wasn’t possible with my Kindle so I didn’t have access (at least that I’m aware of) to the complete book.

Easy, fast read. A lot of it is common sense, but it’s helpful to be reminded of it and reinforced.

Top notch book! Very relevant and practical way for executives to approach networking while in transition. I thought I knew what networking was all about and how to go about itâ¦until I read this book! Very practical advice, addresses some of the common preconceptions about networking, and gives you a very reasonable framework for how to approach your efforts going forward.I felt extremely encouraged and energized after reading this book!
