Great so far! Easy to setup too.
I just installed this today and it went very smoothly. I read a review beforehand that said to pair the smoke alarms to the base station before installing them onto walls and ceilings and I’m glad I did! They do pair a lot more quickly when they’re right next to the base station. I used a P-Touch labeler and labeled all the bases after pairing them and naming then so I knew where to put them. Tip: if you’re anal like me and want the XSense font on the alarm to face parallel with a wall or edge, just make sure one of the 3 mounting screws is “top center”. That way when you secure the alarm onto the base, the font will read parallel to the wall/edge!I have an old 1920’s home with 9′ ceilings and lathe and plaster walls, so it’s a pretty soundproof and dense house. The base station is in my foyer on the first floor and the smoke alarms are pretty much right above and below it through each level. I have one in the basement, one on the first floor, 3 on the second floor (2 bedroom, 1 hallway), and one in the attic. The app shows every alarm having a good signal. I also tested each unit and they all tested flawlessly. The old smoke alarm on the first floor went off every time I’d cook dinner, so I’ll probably accidentally test the system very shortly!

Great value and product
I wanted to have a networked fire alarm system. Honestly this was a great choice and I’m happy with it. My only dislike is the fact that you can’t connect it to Google home or at least this model you can’t.

Love it so far.
So far, love the product and seems great. I like that the base has a 9 minute silence in case the kitchen one goes off. I do wish the app had a silence mode for like 1 hour, so when cooking, we can set it and forget if silenced. Also, wish the app had a test mode to do a practice drill. I’d like to be able to trigger one in teat and see what happens when they all go off. Guess this only can be done with a real fire.

Great smoke detector
Really like them. Love the app. Like that I can turn off the led at night.

Best smoke detector system I’ve used so far.
This is an early review. I only configured the base station and on smoke detector, and haven’t even mounted the smoke detector in its location. So, I’ll probably learn much more in the way of likes and dislikes about it. Ironically, I’m giving it a very favorable review generally, but what prompted me to write a review is a short-coming. It is about the device location feature.I was very attracted to the locations feature, and I still think I’ll like it, but I wondered if it would prove robust enough once I got to using it. So, here’s the problem. It comes with 17 pre-defined locations, but I don’t think X-Sense did a good job of considering the most likely locations where a home-owner might place it. In my case, my first use and the reason I bought this is to replace 2 smoke detectors in my garage. One in the furnace / laundry room, and the other by my service entrance electrical panels. The pre-defined locations don’t even include “garage.” Nor do they include “laundry room” or “service entrance” or “electrical.” The closet they provide it “utility room.” I was pleasantly surprised to learn you can create “custom” locations, and I thought great. I’ll be fine. The problem with this is that the only use for these are in the associated app. When the device is triggered it cannot announce “fire in the furnace room.” If I want it to announce the location, it will only do this a pre-defined location, though it does let you associate a pre-defined location for this purpose. So, in my example, my main location name is my custom name, plus I have “utility room” chosen for the announcement. I realize this is a pretty fancy feature for a smoke detector to begin with, and that adding a feature to announce custom locations may be challenging. However, it would be extremely slick if they could do it, and I think most customers would love it. I may update this review once I get more experience with the system. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with it for now. One other thing to note is that the base station cannot be added to Wi-Fi with the router’s “smart connect” feature for automatic 2.4GHz/5GHz detection enabled. That must be disabled temporarily, so it looks like a clean 2.4GHz only SSID in order for it to connect. I haven’t tried it yet, but I suspect I can re-enable “smart connect” for on-going use, and it will be fine.
