Cheap, but great!
When my ZTE Grand X Max + finally crapped out, I hunted for a phone. It took me over a month to finally settle on 2 different ones. It was either ZTE Blade Vantage or Moto e5 Play. I tested out both phones and I found that I love the Blade Vantage much more than the Moto. I ended up sticking with the ZTE. When I got the product it was in the original package, unopened so that was a major plus, as I was not sure that it would be new or not.
Once I got the package open, it contained the charger, a charging cord, the phone, battery, sim card, and all the booklets. When I turned the phone on for the first time, the battery was at 85%, which was amazing and since my purchase I have put this phone to use. I did get a SD card for it and I was unsure if it would work with a post-pay plan, but according to Verizon, it will work with prepaid or post-paid plans. Which is another plus.
I have dropped this phone a few times already and still no issues. The camera works for everything that I need it for, which are basically a bunch of gym selfies and pictures of my food and the occasional video chat with my family. The battery holds a great charge and I have tons of apps installed and it is not slow, and it works really quickly.
The only issue that I had was the series of system updates that took about 2 hours to complete but other than that, no complaints what-so-ever. The screen is large enough for Netflix and gaming. The colors are great. Plus according to the paper work with the phone it has a warranty on it.
I also received this phone so much quicker than I expected. I ordered on June 15 and had it in my mail on June 17. If I ever need to get another phone, I am going with another one of these and for the price, it is totally worth it!

I’m Back with An Updated Edit of this Phone – !!!DO NOT PURCHASE!!! Zero Stars
>>>Updated Review Oct. 2021<<< I bought this phone 2 times, 1st phone I gave to My GrandDaughter (see 1st review below). The 2nd one I bought as a backup phone in spring of 2020 at $29, it's NOT worth 0.29 cents NOR the ridiculous $49.00 they've increased the price to. I didn't start using this phone until Oct 2021. This is a garbage .a. .s. .s. phone. When someone calls and I attempt to answer while the lock-screen is on the phone disconnects the call. So, I disabled the password for the lock-screen, that don't work either. This is also an issue even when the screen is sleep and a call comes in when I attempt to answer it still disconnects the call. The time when it works to allow for answering is when the phone is in "wake"/unlocked mode. I can only keep it in wake mode for up to a ½ hour. That will drain the already WEAK battery significantly. Aside from all these troubles with this phone, the battery charge is HORRIBLE!!! I didn't add any new apps. I even disabled unnecessary non-deletable apps and deleted stupid, useless pre-installed apps to reduce battery drain. As soon as I take this phone off charger at 100%, battery drain quickly starts dropping to 97% after a few minutes as if this is an old phone battery after an hour, it's down to 15-20%. Keep in mind, I purchased phone 4-2020 never used it until 10-2021. I don't expect a lot from a cheap phone such as this. I just need it for back up. But I never expected this nonsense from an otherwise unused phone. As soon as My Galaxy phone is out of the repair shop, I'm burying this phone in the garbage can. I see why much of the stuff that don't sell well in other retailers ends up on Amazon or eBay. >>>My 1st Review Of This Phone Apr. 2020<<< If You Have an Older Verizon PrePaid Minute Plan from 2005 this Phone is Not Compatible. I have an older plan that still works for Me (still works 2021). Verizon phased it out for new accounts on SmartPhones. I pay a minimum of $5+tax, I've been "GrandFathered" in. I get 10 cents per min up to 10pm and 10pm-6am it's unlimited talk to anywhere on earth. If I change to a smart-phone, I lose the benefit of paying $5 minimum. I only use the old phone as a back up phone. I don't want to pay $35 minimum for this ZTE SmartPhone while I already have 2 other Verizon accounts (a house phone & smartphone). I just simply thought I could upgrade the old phone - a button phone to the 2020's touch screen lifestyle. I even contacted Verizon on their chat-box they said yes I could prior to activation attempt. However, not at all. As I attempted to activate the phone by porting My current phone number I was informed to upgrade the plan to the higher $35 monthly price. I refused and decided to give the ZTE smartphone to My GrandDaughter. I guess this ZTE Phone is okay deserving 5 stars maybe, I gave it 3 stars due to this issue of not being able to use this phone and having to pay $35 for My back up phone I don't use much.

Great phone
The battery life is great. I use it all day to stream movies and entertainment while I’m at work. Lasts all day. The touch screen works amazing and it was well worth the money.

Good for the price… but!
I needed a 2nd phone to move my old number to, the number was simply being flooded by Indian telemarketers too much (80+ called every day). I troll them (even wrote a book “Trolling Telemarketers for Fun & Profit, it’s on Amazon) which is why they have been attacking it for years. So I needed another phone while I forward their abuse to their incoming sales numbers. This phone worked rather well for that. For the price, it’s actually a pretty decent phone, even if a little limited by missing a few features. Oddly enough, the camera is excellent! Considering the price, it’s hard to seriously complain about it. I was expecting a barely functioning crappy phone for the price, but was pleasantly surprised. If you have to buy a smart phone for a kid who is a risk for losing of breaking it, I highly recommend this one.
My only serious complaint is that the phone absolutely will not work with ANY of the call recorder apps. I understand that’s a google problem on newer android versions, but the version on this one shouldn’t be a problem. However it is. And that makes the phone much less useful to me than it should be. For my purposes, that’s a major problem. But for most people, that shouldn’t be a problem though. If you need to record your calls, this is not the phone for you. If not for that I would have given it 5 stars.
