Reliable Switch!
I found out that my new router would support 2.5Gigabit wired connections… I immediately purchased this switch to increase the amount of ports I could use… I found out the hard way, that my laptop, NAS and desktop only support 1gigabit. I then purchased a couple 2.5Gigabit USB adapters for my desktop and laptop (my NAS doesn’t support Ethernet via USB). I do not have any optics in my network, so the SFP’s did me no good.. however, the 4 port switch did hit the spot! I really enjoy the faster speeds between the 2 devices.. now to get my ISP to increase my speeds over 1 Gigbit, then I can really use the faster speeds.. (the “gateway” they have, only supports 1 Gigbit)… Please keep it in mind that your fastest speed is dependent on your slowest connection. ie. if your desktop is only 1 gigabit in speed, your 2.5Gb laptop will only go as fast as 1 gigbit between the two.. in addition, if your router maxes at 1gigbit, then the fastest you will ever get, is 1gigabit. Either way, I am very happy with my purchase of this switch, it is basic, and cheap, but provides what it advertises, 2.5Gigabit. I will agree with other reviews, it would nearly be a perfect switch if the power port was from the rear and not the front… Still great switch!!

LOUD FAN, speed and stability seems okay
Had it for a few days… here’s my big 2 issues with this:1) Fan is annoyingly loud compared to my netgear 10G switch, which is super quiet compared to this… I even swapped out the fan like one of the comments suggested with the Noctua NF-A4x20 Fans… nope, same loudness so it’s just the way the motherboard operates this fan inside this case. Ugh! Noise…..2) I noticed some dropouts when streaming. It’s definitely not the ethernet cord since that’s connected to my nvida pro. Streaming doesn’t stutter or lag when connected from my Netgear Switch, but here and there it does on this one. What? They’re both unmanaged switches, so nothing else is different when using the same ethernet cord.Other than that, I just moved my priority or high bandwidt devices to my Netgear and all else that I dont care so much for to this device. Sucks that I had to do this, but it’s the only workaround. Another option was to return this and pay a few hundred more for a better switch, but my other devices isn’t worth the price tag upgrade. Guess I’m just sticking to this one. Price tag is good otherwise, but you do get what you paid for! Definitely recommend only as a low budget and secondary switch. I would stay clear if it’s going to be your primary unmanaged switch!

Works very well
I got this 10 months ago. It’s been 100% solid and is used for data to upstairs of the house. Connected to the LAN via 10GB fiber and 10GB connection to a NAS.Works so good that I needed to install a similar setup and bought the 8 port version. Both work great.Good buy and quality

if you are in need of a cheap 8 port 10gb switch this is a good choice
This 10 GB 8 port switch has Auto negotiation intelligently senses link speed and adjusts between 5 speeds (10G/5G/2.5G/1000M/100M) to provide compatibility and optimal performance for all your devices.for about $300 is a good choice. I have it connected to my network and I added 10 GB network cards in my computers no problems. the switch comes with a built in fan and works with RJ45 Ethernet cables I use cat 8

Worst power cord on a switch.
When adding onto my network I find the more switches the better for keeping it working for me. Adding another 5 port gig switch is an easy choice for me. Out-of-the-box I couldn’t get over how small this switch is. It isn’t much bigger than the power cord’s DC transformer. Very impressive. The body of the switch is a metal housing. Very good for heat dissipation and protecting the internals from accidents. The network speeds are exactly as they should be in the 1 gig range. The LEDs on the front panel are bright and very clear when powered on.It is that powering on that is my biggest dislike about this network switch. The power cable has an effective length of 20″. Why??? That cable is so short it makes this switch practically useless without setting right beside an outlet or on the floor by a power strip. Unless this is setting in a network rack with a power distribution unit, where is going to set? I can’t understand why this company hampered a great product with this power cord. That said, it’s a pretty nice network switch outside of this micro power cable it comes with. If you are going to set right beside the power source it’s not a bad buy. However, until this comes with a better power cord, I do not recommend it in its current set up. 3 stars.

So far, FANTASTIC!
Ordered this on a whim and a need to start experimenting again with networking. Didn’t realize it, but this does come with a pair of 10g SFP+ ports! Setup…. Well, there wasn’t any. This thing is dead simple; plug it in to power, plug in your patch cables, and after a couple minutes of negotiation it’s ready to go. It’s a little shaky with my shared connection I have off of my main computers’ Wi-Fi, but I have a feeling that is more down to Windows and how it’s negotiating than anything. Currently, the only machine that I have that natively has 2.5g is my new rig, but planning on adding an add in card to my old computer. Regardless, this switch pushes the 1g nics to the max, sans overhead of course. Very enjoyable with my plex server being able to serve at over 900mbps in my LAN. Get a couple 10g sfp+ connectors and go to the races! Will definitely be buying again.

I added a 10GHZ card to my PC and to my Synology NAS on this switch and I get a 400MHZ data exchange link. The fan on the switch is a bit noisy but manageable.

Switch was easy to install and set up.Great value purchased at £223.98 in prime day sale.I was concerned the built in fan would be noisy, but it turned out that it was inaudible. I have it sitting in my Livingroom behind the TV.
