Great 10 GB switch at a good price
has been working great so far. I like that it has a cooling fan so it does not get too hot. All devices work at their top speed, 1 gb 2.5gb 5gb or 10 gb very happy with its performance.

10-port 10G Unmanaged Switch Under $30/port
Needed a cheap 10G switch for Mac Studios, Synology NAS and Linux boxes in home office. The price of $30/port in a 10-port form factor happened recently and pulled the trigger on this switch. So far, after a few days everything is running very well. Best thing about this is if it breaks I can have a replacement here in a few days and revert everything back to old 1G switches if necessary. Very little downside, throughput is very good, performance is wire speed and the unit is very compact and well ventilated.

Well I couldn’t expect much for a 10g switch for $300….
Update 5/27/24: I had to return the switch the following day. The switch would knock any clients offline, randomly reboot and it was horrendously loud.Update 5/29/24: I was contacted by GigaPlus about a full refund on my switch and a request for pictures of the packet loss. I have already returned the switch and received a refund from Amazon. I did not take pictures of the packet loss.Good: Its a cheap 10g switchBad: The fan in this thing screams like a modem from 1997Ugly: I’ll be honest it seems like a complete PoS. I have had it for about 30 minutes and its had some packet loss, definitely the noisiest fans I’ve heard outside of a rackmount server. I recommend just walking away honestly just wait for 10g switches to come down in price this is not worth it.

8 Port 10Gb Ethernet Switch Unmanaged – fans have a high pitched noise.
Switch is good and fast but the high pitched noise is killing my ears. I will probably return.

Noisy
It is a decent, very well built equipment, if you donรขยยt need to seat at the same room.

Stay away for now
Started having cyclical packet loss every 10-15 minutes. I have been waiting since April 21st for a replacement. At this point I’m going to request a different switch as a replacement because this one isn’t worth it.

I’m not sure what is going on with the listing for this item. The item I chose and received was a 5 port passive switch rated at 100/1000 Mbps bandwidth. When I click the picture, it is taking me to a listing for a 6 port 2.5 Gbps with 10Gbps SFP uplinks. Just to be clear, I’m reviewing the 5 port 1Gbps switch. It seems well constructed and functions as well as most other switches in the same price bracket, so I am content with it. For a simple home network that’s wired with cat5e, this is more than sufficient. For other scenarios, like a larger business network, you probably want something with more ports and bandwidth and possibly a managed switch. For your average Joe trying to make a small home network, this is a pretty good little network switch that gets the job done.

This is the perfect example of the basics. This is a basic switch used to give you more ethernet ports in your network. That’s it. No VLANS or static routing involved at all. (I realize this is a plus and a minus). Plug in one ethernet cable to provide networking to the switch and you have 4 more ports to provide network to different devices. All metal design is nice and the small footprint makes this easy to hide. Just remember one thing. This is a gigabit switch and all routing will be done through the one port providing the network to the switch. If you have 4 devices that are hungry for bandwidth, you will see a drop per device. However I always got around 900mbps in my use case. This was due to not having such bandwidth hungry devices connected. For basic networking this is perfect and I would recommend this to everyone

This is a fairly decent (albeit basic) 5-port GigE switch that’s well-constructed and works as expected without issues (as they all should be at this point in time). It’s an unmanaged switch so there is nothing to configure and all it needs is a power source which can be provided via the AC/DC adapter supplied although it’d been better if this is powered by standard USB interface (with a USB/DC cable and wall charger provided of course). The wall charger does NOT have a safety certification which is a bit of a bummer but it works just fine for now. I should mention that I have come across dozens of these and the AC/DC adapter is actually the most often to fail, if it’s going to fail, so just keep that in mind. Btw, there is a green power LED on the AC/DC adapter which is nice. There is power LED at the front along with a LED for each of the 5 ports but there are no lights at the back where the ports are. The power port is also conveniently located at the back that most people might prefer. The entire case/shell is made of metal which is nice and although it’s not exactly business grade, it is well-constructed and I do prefer the all metal construction over plastic ones any time. Btw, it also has 2 mounting holes at the bottom which (again) I do prefer and indeed I find them useful. It’s about 101 x 52 x 27 mm in dimension for those who are interested.รขยยก ValueAll things considered, this is a fairly decent basic 5-port GigE switch that’s well-constructed and works as expected without issues. It’s ultra-compact and slim and can easily fit behind (or even stuck onto) the TV with ease. However, it’s powered by the usual and typical DC/barrel connector with an AC/DC adapter which is a bit of a bummer. It would’ve been great if it’s powered by standard USB so I can save a port on the surge protector. It’s very reasonably priced at $16 for what it provides and its overall build quality, usability, and performance.

This is a great switch which was very easy to install. The metal case makes for excellent heat dissipation unlike cheaper plastic models from other vendors. The ethernet ports are easy to use, and overall the product feels like a solid switch that will last.I replaced an older plastic switch with this one, and the upload and download speeds are consistent with a 1Gb switch, even with a streaming device and a NAS box running, it handled the traffic no problem. Now when it came in the box it said “SMART SWITCH” which it is definitely NOT. Might be just an issue with the packaging.Only real gripe I had if you want to call it that … is the AC cable is VERY short so you will need to ensure it is mounted or placed close to an outlet or power source.

Out of the box, I had a very good impression and expectation of the product. The frame and heft of the switch gives confidence that it is at least a decent quality build. It is also very tiny, especially in comparison with my other network switches! The indicator lights are quite bright on both the power brick that is provided to power the switch, along with the status lights on the switch itself. Initial tests on my network show no loss in internet speed, so that is a good sign. All ports have a solid connection and fit quite snugly. Everything was working on first try, with no troubleshooting required. The unit is also very silent, with no audible noise coming from the switch. The only issue I would have is the angle at which the power plug comes off the switch, but not something that I can’t work around. Overall very good.
