IR works like a dream!
The infrared emitter on this remote must be pretty strong, because I donât even have a direct line of sight to my Xbox and it STILL works! I wasnât expecting that at all. I was expecting to have to grab some IR repeaters to carry the signal back to the console, but it wasnât even necessary this thing is so responsive. I highly, highly recommend this over the PDP media remote. I got myself a ânemesis media remoteâ before I purchased this one, and it was awful in comparison. Iâm returning the PDP and sticking with this awesome one instead. Everything from the build quality, great feel of the buttons, to the backlight that helps you see the remote in the dark, this truly does feel like the most premium option for an Xbox series media remote.

Amazing remote
When it arrived I was excited to try it out. After inserting the 2ÃAAA Batteries, it worked right out of the box, nice to have a remote like this to easily turn the system on and off without using the controller, but I know people want to know how this works with the Media apps like YouTube, Peacock, Etc. that you can install on your Xbox console, and the result is, it works well, great feel and fun to use. A good remote for the price. Although I secretly wished this was like the 8BitDo wireless game controllers and had a rechargeable battery inside, but always a minor gripe until the product gets an upgrade, and it does have a built-in low battery warning system and the AAA battery replacement won’t be a chore as long as everyone keeps an eye for the signal to replace.

Mostly Works
Overall this is a really solid remote for those of us who don’t want to fumble with a gaming controller when watching streaming services and Blu-rays. The back light is great, too. Needs line of sight with your console, but that’s not a deal breaker.Only issue I’ve had is pausing stuff. It’ll pause just fine, but trying to resume play doesn’t work. It’ll light up, but none of the buttons will actually work until you remove, and then put back, the batteries, or if you pull out your controller and hit play from there.

Excellent product!
This this is just awesome to use. The remote just works and works well for a media remote when wanting to control whatever youâre watching instead of having to use the regular controller. Does it have the same functionality for media? Yes. But this is something youâll want if you watch a lot of videos on your console and use it as a streaming box. One of the best things about it is that thereâs no pairing whatsoever. Literally open it, stuff the batteries (AAA*2) in and point it and press a button. Even if you have multiple Xboxes it just works just carry it to the other Xbox in the other room and it will work like magic. Another good point is you can turn on and off your console with it too!

Not all the buttons work with Xbox One
I use my Xbox for media a lot and I wanted a remote to substitute for my controller so it wouldn’t be going to sleep and to have a little more functionality with the additional fast forward buttons, etc. I am happy that I now have a remote that does all the same things an Xbox controller can, but I a little upset with this product because any button that isn’t normally on the controller does not work. Fast forward, skip, etc. This was one of the selling points for me and that was kinda a let down. Otherwise it connects right away and works with no issues. No complaints besides that one.

Best Xbox media remote!
Some reviewers have said you have to point this directly at the TV. I don’t have to do that with the Xbox Series X console. I can point it at the living room ceiling and it still controls the Xbox. Some reviewers have said that it doesn’t control the TV volume. That might be the way they have things set up. I have a my soundbar hooked up to my TV, and the remote volume keys work just fine with the soundbar turned on.Some reviewers say that the media forward, backward, skip, etc. buttons do not work but they work for me just fine when I stream YouTube on the Xbox. So I’m not sure if they only work for certain apps and not others. I have not tried it with the Amazon Music app or Tube app yet, but I suspect it will work just fine. All in all this is a great remote.Pros:1. Well made, nice pebble plastic feel to buttons and case. Definitely not cheap.2. Responsive keys, with a good click feel.3. Guide button (below the B key) , which can be programmed for various functions, not just the guide.4. Buttons light up when you lift the remote, and fade out after a few seconds, which is just the right amount of time.5. Saves batteries on XBox controller since you are not using it for streaming, just for games.6. Battery cover slides off and on nicely, with a nice click when closed.Cons:1. The home (Xbox) button looks nice, but does not light up. But it’s large and white so you can’t miss it.2. The home (Xbox) button feels more like rubber. Since it does not light up like the other keys, it would have been nice if the button was the same material. But it does stand out with the glossy raised surface.Glad I chose this remote!

No issues so far, but requires extra cable purchase to control volume and TV power on Xbox One
I like this remote pretty well after a week, looks better in person than the stock photos. I bought this over the PDP remote because I didn’t like where the back button on the PDP remote was located. Seemed like it could make using streaming apps cumbersome. No real complaints other then the inherent downsides of using IR connectivity, but even the old official Microsoft remote used it.I bought to use with my original Xbox One. Can operate using the IR receiver built in to the console, though you need to buy an additional IR emitter cable that hooks into the back of the Xbox One to control power and volume of your TV through the remote. Note: remote doesn’t have a power button, but you can set the TV power to go on/off with the Xbox. I just bought the one-headed IR emitter cable, but it might be a decent idea to get the 2 or 3 headed one to get better responsiveness out of the IR remote. Bonus is that having an IR emitter will let you control the Xbox from somewhere else other than just the front of the console.I had trouble getting the volume function to work even after hooking up the cable, finding my TV’s remote code on ueisupport.com is what got it working.

I have bought 3 other remotes that worked but they struggled to send signal to the Xbox. The buttons were not always responsive and you had to have the sweetspot of an angle pointing towards the console.I’ve only had this one for a week but it works great and has a wide range of signal compared to the others. Very glad with this purchase and the other remotes are going into the trash.

Es resistente. Funciona a la perfección. Ni muy grande ni muy pequeño. Solo una cosa botón del logotipo de xbox es como una estampa, no ilumina y se termina por caer. Pero solo es estampa el botón funciona bien.

Got this as my Xbox one was starting to fail and wow this is a good media remote! Backlighting is perfectly done and I like the ABXY on it! Well done 8Bitdo!

Not the greatest. But for the most part does what you need it to do. Beats turning on the controller just to press play.
