Great and reliable switch
Starting with the packaging I felt the packaging was very well branded as well as user friendly to open and unbox. The presentation in the box for both the switch and the camera left nothing to be desired and was straightforward about knowing I have what I need to get started. First I unpacked the POE Switch. It felt very well built and was tastefully labeled. One of the first things I checked was to see if there was any way to mount the switch onto a wall. I did find the screws in the box however it took me a minute to grasp how it was meant to be mounted. The fact I must punch my own holes out of the switch is not something I feel very comfortable doing. As seen in the picture They don’t pop out easily with your finger and I would be afraid of applying too much pressure and stabbing into the box and hitting some of the components. If in the future some rubber grommets or something similar that could be popped out were applied, it would make mounting it way more user friendly. It was very easy and quick to both hook up to my router and hook up to the camera. I enjoy the longer cord on the power supply to be able to position it where I want it and not worry about being horribly close to an outlet. I also like the indicators to show the status of each port. It connected almost instantaneously.

Easy setup with no experience required
I have had many POE switch brands over the years and like many others this one worked with no issues. The switch was quick to detect the device being plugged in and didn’t notice any speed or lag issues on my GB network. This switch seems to be more robust than some other I have seen being made out of a metal enclosure. I do like how the lights are separated and labeled so that someone who does not have a networking background knows what the lights actually mean. Would recommend to anyone looking for a smaller poe switch.

Quality POE switch with plenty of power
I have had very good results with this Amcrest 8-port POE switch in many of my camera surveillance systems for my customers. With larger camera networks, this allows for local power supply and LAN interface with the main NVR controller. I would highly recommend this switch and other variants produced by Amcrest. My customers are very satisfied with the performance at just the right price point.

Heavy duty hardware that works great
This switch couldn’t be easier to use! I bought it to work with an Amcrest POE camera and Blue Iris. I plugged the camera in and was off and running! The camera connected to my home network and I was able to start setting it up right away. The switch hardware is very sturdy and made of a strong metal material. It looks like great craftsmanship. I would expect this to last a long time, and I don’t think I need to worry about a thing. It’s great having 8 POE switch ports available, and since I’ll be using this with my Amcrest cameras (or any POE cameras), I have lots of capacity and room for expansion. It mounted great inside my ‘smart home’ panel. It’s slim enough that it doesn’t take up alot of space.

Quick and easy to get up and running
I purchased the PoE switch as I am adding new devices (IP Cameras) that require PoE. I was previously using a single PoE injector and was looking for a product that will grow with my future needs. I had initially looked at simple 8-port PoE injectors, but I was running out of space on my main switch. This Gigabit PoE switch is able to free ports from my main switch, provide 96W of PoE, and will be able to meet my future needs. The installation was super easy–just had to connect to the power and connected the first port of the PoE switch to my main switch. After powering it on, it immediately connected and I was able to plug in additional devices. This also gave me an opportunity to clean up and do some cable management. It does come with screws if you want to mount it.I like that the device automatically detects and shows whether it’s providing PoE or just an uplink. Since adding two 4K Amcrest IP Cameras, I have not noticed any latency issues while streaming video to my tablet.I’m very satisfied with the product, although I wouldn’t mind if Amcrest introduced a rack mount in the box or as an accessory. Of course, I could get an additional shelf, but it would certainly make it more visually appealing. I’m now able to easily connect more devices and be up and running with my access point and IP Cameras.

Good POE switch for cameras
Received this switch to power 5 amcrest cameras I have. It works well and do not notice any issues with speed or power. Only complaint I have is that it will not power my POE TP-Link access point that my old POE switch would, but it works great on the cameras.

Truly Plug and Play
Ordered the Amcrest 8-Port POE Switch to accompany my recent Amcrest 4k AI POE Camera purchase. The package arrived quickly and came in a nice box. Inside the box was the switch, power cord, mounting screws, and instruction manual. Switch was packaged really well and safely inside.I really liked how plug and play the switch was to my existing network. I have a full Unifi network and connected the Amcrest POE switch to one of my managed switch’s port. Then connected the Amcrest 4k AI POE Camera to the Amcrest POE switch. Within a minute I was able to find the POE camera in my Unifi dashboard and connect to it.Overall I think this is a great product at the right price point. Giving you a ton of PoE ports that work without having to configure a bunch of things. It’s truly plug and play for most networks.

A great little desktop PoE switch
Iâve been needing a PoE switch for my Unifi AP and when I started using a PoE security camera I decided it was time to stop relying on my PoE Injector and get an actual PoE switch. This little switch is impressive, especially compared to other budget PoE switches Iâve looked at. Itâs small, but very sturdy. Itâs capable of powering a lot of standard PoE devices (i.e. APs, cameras, etc.). One thing that surprised me was that this switch didnât include any mounting holes to attach it to a vertical surface, but it does come with mounting screws. Iâm not sure if this is just a manufacturing defect with this particular switch or the screws are included for all switches and only select units have mounting holes. Itâs nothing that some double sided tape or a few 3D printed brackets canât fix.
