Amcrest Active Gigabit PoE Injector Adapter, IEEE 802.3 10BaseT and IEEE 802.3u 100BaseTx Compliant, Up to 100 Meters; FSE801G
Generating up to 30W, the POE Injector supplies remote power for products such as wireless access points, Amcrest IP cameras, and videophones
Allows for POE power when a POE switch is not available
This Active Gigabit POE Injector allows you to run Ethernet cables from a POE Switch over long distances, and then split the PoE signal into separate data and power sources in order to run non PoE devices
The Active PoE Injector works with a POE splitter to split a networked PoE signal into separate power and Ethernet data source
Customers say
Customers like the performance, ease of use, build quality, value, and capacity of the network interface controller adapter. They mention that it works flawlessly, it simplifies installation of cameras in difficult locations, and it’s built to last. They appreciate the capacity, saying that it delivers a full 25W+ power budget for even the highest-power consumption devices.

Simple, Plug-and-Play PoE
Full Disclaimer: I was offered a discount off this product in exchange for unbiased feedback on this product (good or bad). While my main network switch can deliver power over ethernet to devices like my Amcrest cameras, the smaller, simple switch at the other end of the house does not. This injector worked perfectly to power a camera connected to that switch without forcing me to run an extra Cat5e cable back to the core switch. The Good:- Simple plug and play operation (one data cable connects this injector to your existing switch/router; one power cable connects this device to the wall; one data+PoE cable combines power and data for a single connected device)- Delivers a full 25W+ power budget for even the highest-power consumption devices (perhaps it goes all the way to 30W as advertised, but I didn’t have a device that would pull that amount of power)- Works with a range of PoE powered devices (tested with an Amcrest camera, a UniFi PoE-powered access point, and a Raspberry Pi with a PoE hat, all without problems – BUT see below)The Less Than Perfect:- Does not appear to be fully 802.3af or 802.3at standards compliant (at least according to my PoE tester; bear in mind, I didn’t have any issues powering the devices I tested, despite non-compliance – I would’ve deducted half a star, but the product wasn’t advertised as compliant with those standards)Overall, a great product that’s perfect for someone without the need to power many PoE devices (which might be better served by a PoE switch v. individual injectors) or one with a remote device that needs PoE power.

A no-nonsense, plug and play PoE injector. What more could you want?
Disclaimer: I was provided a discount for this product; in exchange I decided to leave my honest review.PROS: Works exactly as you would expect. It’s a PoE+ injector that can handle up to 48 volts. Plug in the three necessary cables (2x ethernet, 1x power) and make the needed connections. Works as expected.CONS: Size *could* be smaller compared to some other PoE injectors but not a deal breaker by any means.OVERALL:I have several years’ experience with PoE injectors. 99.9% of the time I run my cameras from my PoE switch so I don’t need to add something like this, however if that’s not practical I would use an Injector such as this. I would normally gravitate towards the TP-Link gigabit ones because they are very small (about the size of a pack of playing cards) and thus easier to hide, however they don’t provide the power for PoE+ devices. The first PoE+ injector I bought a few years ago was made by Rosewill and this comes in a very similar size. Perhaps it’s the additional power delivery that warrants the large brick. At the end of the day when you’re looking for a PoE injector, you want one that’s going to work without any hassles or additional configuration and that’s exactly what this does. Sure, the size of the power brick/transformer could be smaller but it does the job and does it well.

It does a great job.
This was my first POE injector as I have all my other cameras running off my two POE switches. This comes in handy since I don’t have any free POE ports so I can connect a 9th camera to one of the non-POE switch ports. I was very impressed by how substantial this unit is. The three prong AC power cord that plugs in directly to the unit gives it a much higher quality look and feel than other units on the market that use DC power plugs. The switch works as intended and both RJ-45 jacks as well labeled to avoid any confusion. Overall this seems like a high quality unit that should serve it’s intended purpose quite well and will stand the test of time.

Nice active POE injector
I was able to test this both with the Amcrest POE cameras I have at my house, and another device I have, an Axis P5512-E PTZ Network camera. Both devices worked flawlessly with this device. The instruction manual references a dip switch setting on a splitter to adjust the output voltage however that device was not included with the power injector and not needed in this installation I was using this in.Size wise this device is similarly sized to the Axis 30 and 60 watt power injectors that I am familiar with at a FRACTION of the price. I liked the channels on the sides of the injector which allows them to be connected cleanly together. The listing for the POE injector on Amazon lists it as 100baseTx, however the details in the listing on Amazon specify it as gigabit capable. The sticker on the back of the injector does not list any IEEE certifications or ratings, just that it’s “Non-standard gigabi ;max” I thought that label could be a bit more verbose in it’s information as it’s fairly spartan.

Did not work with Amcrest IP5M turret security camera. Customer service told me to return it
I feel bad leaving 1-star because Amcrest customer service was excellent when I contacted them because my new Amcrest IP5M POE security camera wasn’t working with this injector. Unfortunately the advice they provided me was to return the POE injector and replace it a POE ethernet switch. The switch works fine (random Netgear POE switch), so passing along Amcrest customer service advice: do not use a POE injector with your POE security cameras, instead buy a POE ethernet switch.

Good POE Injector
The product works as advertised. Not much to speak of on how to operate it. Just plug it into power, insert the network Ethernet cable into the DATA/IN port and the camera to the P+/OUT port. What I didn’t like is the fact that the adapter feels really cheap and plastic like. There is almost no weight to the product and seems like it would break if I stepped on it by accident. Now I only had one of the adapters but on the side, it appears you can connect multiple units together, this would make it easier to hang on a wall out of the way. It doesn’t cost much and works.
