Very Impressive performance
I’ve had this laptop for 3 days and the package arrived in excellent condition apart from UPS delivery issues (Which seems like a common occurrence with stuff from Amazon).I can say it’s a very impressive laptop, fps in most games will be 90+ with no problem in 2k resolution (if the game supports 2k) the refresh rate is lightning smooth and I have not experienced any bugs or stutter so far, apart from the screen flickering while using an internet browser, but another review has addressed that and seems to have fixed the issue for me.Although you will have to update most things when you do power it up the first time. Such as apps listed in the windows store and also any updates required from the windows update tab.Read and write speeds are impressive. The CPU will run hotter than the GPU about 10-20 degrees depending on the task. The laptop construction has a lid that is metalic on the outside with a white illuminated ROG logo. The rest of the laptop seems to be of a durable plastic which does not get too hot, the keyboard area does tend to be a fingerprint magnet, which is a slight annoyance. So far the keyboard lighting has had no issues. And I have not had any trouble using the trackpad. The laptop comes equipped with Dolby Access which includes Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision if you’d like to change the audio and video profiles to the task that you are doing. Dolby atmos has a very impressive virtual surround sound feature as well. The screen can be a little dim with default settings, but you can manually adjust some display settings through the AMD software and Armoury Crate to get the most out of the display. There are no dead pixels or major backlight bleed in the laptop that I have received. The AC Adapter can get pretty hot under heavy loads, but that’s to be expected with such a powerhouse.Overall, I’d say for the amount of performance and features that you get under the discounted price, this laptop is more than worthy of a purchase.

Good Laptop with Initial Problems
Packaging was OK, as the other reviewer mentioned, ASUS packaging was 10/10 but Amazon’s was 1/10, box had a lot of dents and such. The Laptop is great and can play anything you through at it however, the Optimus software used that switches between the 4080 GPU and the Internal GPU is faulty. Sometimes the Laptop will crash with a blue screen during gaming. Other times the Laptop boots up and immediately freezes with no remedy other than force power shutting it down. I’ve installed the latest drivers, reinstalled drivers, reinstalled windows, etc. I ultimately disabled the 4080 GPU/Internal GPU Optimus switching and that helped. ASUS Support is no help, they point you to support articles that don’t really assist. Seems to be a big problem with these model laptops.edit: ended up refunding/returning the laptop. It kept shutting off in the middle of gaming at random times.

So far very good performance
I’ve only had the laptop for two days, but I’ve played several games at max graphic settings and the performance has been excellent. Games look amazing with the refresh rate at 240hz at 1440 resolution. The laptop is much more quiet than any of my previous ASUS or Lenovo gaming laptops. The display screen is fine, not great, but bright enough and games look great. The touchpad is annoying and takes some getting used to, but I use a wireless mouse so not really an issue for me. It’s a heavy laptop, but it’s meant for gaming or intensive video work, not for casually carrying around. We’ll see how it holds up.

Solid after updates and tweaks, great performance
Let’s get the venomous hatred out of the way. HahaI dislike that asus puts extra steps in the onboarding for the os. One more fn account.I dislike that it requires a bios update or two right out the box. See Jay’s two cents’ video about firing asus on YouTube for the reasons behind those required bios updates.I guess I didn’t verify the presence of native dp, it only has native hdmi and thunderbolt, which can be terminated in dp. Not a big deal.Another mistake on my part: I didn’t do my homework. The laptop 4090 only has 50% of the desktop performance. So rather than 24gb gddr6, I got 16gb gddr6. This rig costs around 5 to 7 hundred less than a desktop with a 4090, so that kind of shakes out.And I just generally dislike windows 11. For obvious reasons. Petty, I know.another petty gripe: this thing holds onto fingerprints like a division of SVU.Now, let’s cover the good stuff.Aesthetics, they’re very nice. It looks well made. The unit feels sturdy in the hand when transporting. Not something I can say for the msi 17 inch stealth i owned previously – which had noticeable flex when closed. The keyboard is nothing to write home about. The client software is a push, I like the steelseries engine better. The lid feel great on this unit. Very thoughtful design, and great tolerances. It doesn’t feel top-heavy, like it’s going to close under its own weight. There’s a small gap at the bottom to accommodate all that cake, which makes the monitor feel more legitimate somehow. Can’t put my finger on that one. Solid hinges. The glowing rog eye on the back is really cool looking, but I never get to see it. HahaThe best part of my experience was also the worst part. The bios update issue. Here’s the rub, some companies just let you figure out that you need a bios update. These guys put it in my face. They didn’t come out and say “hey we messed up on the am5 platform and chips are running hot, so here’s a bios update”, but they made sure I got what I needed. So, good and bad. Also my cpu Temps are down after the fact, so im pretty happy this didn’t end up being another rma.Another thing I need to address: the power supply could fry an egg. Do not store this thing in a crowded shroud without air circulation, thats just asking for it. I ended up buying a small Vornado clip fan and pointing it directly at the brick. I’ve got the brick in an under-desk cable management solution. The fan is mounted to the frame under the desk. It runs very cool now.I bought a second fan to point directly under the laptop. 25 bucks for some piece of mind. Which brings me to another point, it runs hot. Obviously that’s to be expected with that much going on under the hood. Temps are pretty good with the addition of a smallish fan, even under load. Now, performance. Let’s talk turkey. Baller, it does everything I ask of it. Cyber punk benchmarks on max settings look great, it’s breathtaking. I mostly play eso online, a nine year old title. I slam everything through the roof but cap the game’s fps at my monitor’s speed. So over displayport via thunderbolt I’m getting 165 fps, and it is delicious. Pair that with a samsung g5 34″ and it’s a wonder I leave the house at all.All in all, now that all the updates have posted and I’ve fixed all the wacky windows 11 settings and power plans, I love it. I’m happy with the purchase.

Epic!!!!!!!!!
I bought this and don’t regret it one bit!!!!!!!!!! It’s super fast, admittedly faster than my desktop, vibrant colors. It’s simply an awesome laptop, definitely feel after almost 5 months that it would be worth buying again!
