Truly Simple to set up, works perfectly!
I had a Ubiquiti system that got taken out by lightning, so I bought this cheaper, less complicated system to replace it. THIS SYSTEM IS TRULY PLUG-N-PLAY! The units are already sync’d to each other, and once you turn them both on and THEY JUST WORK. Zero loss of internet speed over the 200ft distance. And they cost 1/3 what my last system cost.My previous ubiquiti system I’m sure had better specs, but I don’t need 10km range. I need 200ft. The problem with the “U” system and many other point-to-point systems is they are very difficult to configure. I spent HOURS with the “U” system settings up nerdy details of IP addresses and subnet masks, etc. I’m pretty knowledgeable about such things (but not an IT guy) and it still was difficult. This BrosTrend system is how they all should work for a simple residential system. Truly PLUG-N-PLAY. I highly recommend it. And if it dies due to lightning, it only cost $70, not $250.

Decent Wireless Bridge with easy configuration
Living in the desert means stucco and wire mesh surrounding your house. Any Wireless signal to other buildings no matter how close is suspect at best. These wired in quickly on both buildings and configured without problem. I get plenty of speed to run streaming on the Garage TV and have had no real problem with drops or delays in streaming.Having said that, I did place them under the eaves on both buildings where they are mostly protected and they are only about 100′ apart so I cannot speak much for the range. Getting them pointed at 100′ took about 6 seconds. They did the job I asked them to do, and I am happy with this purchase.

Finally able to get a wireless connection through my home’s exterior
I have a house with a stucco exterior and low-E windows that is problematic for getting wifi outside without an exterior access point. The steel mesh applied under the stucco and the metallization on the window glass form a pretty effective barrier to RF unless you find a corner where the signal can leak through.I’ve tried a number of high-gain wifi antennas and dongles with mixed success and they have been generally unreliable. I was skeptical that the BrosTrend bridge would be any different so I put off testing it for quite a while. But I was wrong. The BrosTrend bridge has solved my problem. My application is for remote astrophotography to be able to get a connection between an outside computer and my home network. It’s not a long range use, but it does require a strong high-gain beam to get through my almost-Faraday shield house. For my use as a bridge there was no software setup required at all, which is good because I was unable to ever find a way to log into any configuration/setup screen by following the directions. I did have to study the instructions to try to understand where the transmitter and receiver units should be connected, and as it turns out the transmitter module is connected to my home router and the receiver module is connect to the outdoor device’s LAN port. As of now the outside device is a homemade Raspberry Pi 5 – based “AllSky” camera that I use to monitor sky conditions throughout the night to better understand what other remote telescopes are capturing and to let me know if conditions are deteriorating. The BrosTrend modules are presently used to simply replace a wired ethernet connection. I did not have to configure anything in the receiver or transmitter at all (good, because I can’t figure out how to get in). All that was necessary was to power them up together and then locate them at the router and remote device. They can be powered with the included 12v adapters either directly through the 5.5×2.1mm barrel jacks on the bottom of the modules or by using the included POE adapters so that you only need to run a single ethernet cable to the module. I ended up using POE at the router end but because of space limitations inside the allsky camera body I use separate power at that end.The modules have removable covers that provide some degree of weather protection for the cable connections, although I wouldn’t consider them to be very waterproof. I also put a second hole in the bottom because running both power and ethernet through the single hole was a little tight.I was initially baffled by the curved mounting bracket which had a built-in radius that didn’t seem well suited for either flat wall mount or a typical small-diameter pole. As it turned out I strapped it to the side of a 4″ diameter pipe used for my camera body and the radiused bracket came out to be a pretty good match. It also allows me to slide the receiver module around as need to always face the transmitter located inside the house. If I have any complaints at all it would be that the enclosures and the fixed mounting brackets aren’t quite as robust as I would like to see for permanent outdoor exposure. Otherwise for my sheltered use it is working great.

Long range, wifi bridge good for building to building
Low bandwidth building to building link I use for sprinklers on my grandfathers farm. Setup with relative direct Line of sight, I was able to get this from farm house to barn at about 900ft with a good 480KBps without issue. No problems after a month of usage – just a little worry as to water getting in. Might buy a waterproof enclosure, but will wait for fall before deciding. Setup Was super easy, almost the same as ubiquity in size and setup.

Works great
I recently set up a wireless bridge, and itâs been excellent. It significantly improved my network coverage and connectivity in hard-to-reach areas. The setup was straightforward, and itâs reliable with minimal interference. Itâs a great solution for extending Wi-Fi range and boosting signal strength.

Excellent Long-Range Connectivity Solution for Outdoor Areas
Special notes- easy plug and play but the browser may fight you- may need 2 routers- speeds vary on location and network traffic-not a wifi extenderI am thoroughly impressed i thought this was going to be a huge flop, to be honest. Thanks to its “plug and play” functionality, setting up the device was a breeze. Even without extensive networking knowledge, I could get it up and running within minutes. The included instructions were clear and concise, guiding me through the process effortlessly. The performance of this wireless bridge i solid. It effortlessly covers the 1 km distance as advertised, providing strong and stable connectivity between distant points. I’ve experienced consistent speeds and minimal latency, making it ideal for streaming and everyday internet use in remote areas. The build quality is good, and the IP65 rating ensures it can withstand various weather conditions. This reliability gives me peace of mind, knowing that it will continue to perform well even during rain or winter.

Great option to get high speed Internet into an out building etc. Easy to get going and I found the speed was great, very fast, and very quick responses to web site access. I had to change the I.P. addresses in the units as my network is not on the same network as the default the radios are on but simple enough using the web interface. Without any obstructions you should be okay at 1 km. I highly recommend it.

Buena calidad. Y la conexion es estable.

The BrosTrend 5Ghz WiFi Bridge is a good option for those looking to establish a bridge where there is a line of sight, and where environmental conditions are tempered. The connection is reliable once established, and worked well for me when sending data across ~200ft. Not blazing fast, no where near 800Mbps, but not bad. My principal concern, as articulated by others, is the longevity secondary to ruggedness. The units do have IP ratings, although it’s clear continued water exposure during repeated storms will reduce the lifespan. All in all, however, the price is reasonable – especially if you are considering this for indoor application.
