Simply the most dependable and cost-efficient way to add Ethernet to your (ethernet port-less) device.
For my purposed, the Cable Matters USB 2.0 to Ethernet Adapters are a great way to connect any Windows device without a built-in ethernet port (or a broken one) to a wired network. It’s plug-and-play in the truest send of the term. I plug it in, and seconds later it works (at least in Windows 7, 8 and 10). The drivers are there (I’m guessing that they’re stored in a bit of internal flash storage within the device itself, but it happens so quickly, you’ll be hard-pressed to notice it happening) and load up instantly. I’ve deployed hundreds of these with Yoga S1, 12 and 260 convertible tablets/laptops (none of which have an ethernet port) and they’ve worked flawlessly, and while I’ve had a couple of them fail, again, I’m talking out of hundreds here. This is a quality product, so if you need to connect your ethernet port-less tablet or laptop to a wired network and are running Windows, this is the most dependable, cost-efficient solution available to you.

Great for zoom meetings with Chromebooks
This is definitely worth the money! I had to buy these for my kids for their Chromebooks because they weren’t able to keep a good connection for zoom meetings. Once I got these and hook them straight through ethernet they haven’t had a problem yet. Definitely a great alternative to using Wi-Fi.

A lightning storm cause an electrical surge through the phone and ethernet lines — and took out my ethernet port. This was a quick and easy solution. My biggest complaint is there’s a noticeable drop in speed between this connection and the ethernet port on my motherboard. It may very well be that it’s because my computer is old enough to only have USB 2.0; maybe it would be just like the motherboard port on USB 3.0. I also cannot figure out how to keep this device from going to sleep, or at least not being recognized after a re-boot. I’ve gone into the device properties and told it to never go into sleep mode, but it still does it. So after my computer goes to sleep, or after a reboot, I have to unplug the USB connector and plug back in.The driver comes on the device…just watch for the popup window after you plug it in. Even though my regular ethernet port was blown, I still had to go into Setup and disable the Onboard LAN

This device is great for wired Internet with either the firestick or the fire TV. Used with host OTG 2.0 USB cable and 4 Port sabernet 2.0 USB hub. No buffering issues at all. Great device and half they price of Amazon’s wired intent device. Plus with the extra USB ports, you can hook up a keyboard and add flash drive or try the Flirc device to with with your Logitech all in one remotes. Really worth the money!

Great quality product, with fast speed
Very great product! This is exactly what I needed for my hp laptop, it comes with two USB Ethernet adapters. This is great because if one breaks you donât have to wait for a new one to be mailed. The speed is fast as well.

Simple ethernet connectivity solution
After a very violent lightning strike, we lost our entire network connectivity (router, switches and the NICs cards attached to the CAT-5e in the desktops). Afterwards I decided to use these as exendable ethernet connectors. They install quickly under Win7. The upside is that they work and are inexpensive. The downside is that they are 10/100 speed and not gigabit.

Not sure
Did not work in my pplication. I tried to connect a USB camera over its max length of 15 feet by using Ethernet cable. Did not work at any cable length. Otherwise it might be fine. In don’t know

Great ethernet adapters for tablets
I purchased these for my tablets as sometimes my router Wi-Fi drops dead or I’m too far from the router to receive a good signal and they work perfectly – I’ve never lost a connection. They work well and are reasonably priced.
