Customers say
Customers like the signal stability, ease of installation, quality and value of the network interface controller adapter. For example, they mention it’s more stable than WiFi, it doesn’t require any configuration and that it’ll improve your internet speed. That said, opinions are mixed on connectivity, speed and buffering.

Works with Roku Express 4K Plus
It worked with my Roku Express 4K Plus. It says it’s not compatible with Roku and it may not be compatible with some of the later models but it works just fine with mine. No issue and no lagging. Works for me.

Works great
Worked right out of the package. For some reason after 8 months of wireless my 4k Max stopped connecting to my top of the line router. Once I installed this ethernet adaptor it worked 100%. Very pleased.

Great product but watch out for fakes
If you get an authentic Cable Matters cable, it does exactly what it needs to do.I was originally using the Amazon Firestick Ethernet adapter before realizing that it could only connect at 100 mbps max, which is kinda of pointless for a hard lined connection. This Cable Matters cable uses a gigabit Ethernet port to maximize the speed of the hard lined connection (limited though by the micro USB connection on the Firestick so you will only see about 400mbps) still way better than 100 mbps that you would get with the Amazon adapter.I used this for a Firestick with power plugged in at one end of the adapter and Ethernet plugged in at the other. I also used this with a FireTV Cube with just the Ethernet plugged in. (FireTV Cube has it’s own power connection). Both configurations work great.Product is 5 star but Amazon needs to watch out for fakes. I originally received 2 boxes, 1 was authentic but the other was unbranded and looked different. Boxes were identical. The unbranded cable actually did not even work, my Firestick would be stuck in a bootloop. You can see from the pictures that the authentic Cable has “Cable Matters” imprinted on the housing.

Easy to install, does what it promises…
Literally just a minute install. Connect the cables and test it out with Speedtest.net (before and after to see the benefit). I found even my strong/fast wifi signal seemed to drop out in the middle of a show on my firestick. This appears to be the ticket.

Way more speed.
Way more speed than the Amazon OEM one.

>300/200 Mbps speeds on Firestick 4K
110% happy and more than satisfied with this adapter. Basically every other ethernet adapter made for use with the FireStick uses fast ethernet which limits you to a max speed of 100/100 Mbps even when they advertise speeds of up to 480Mbps (the max speed for the USB port on all Fire Stick and Fire Stick 4k models)–which is just plain dumb. However this adapter ACTUALLY has a gigabit ethernet port that allows you to break the hard 100Mbps cap every other adapter I tried was limited to . If you’re only streaming Netflix or Prime Video 100Mbps is plenty, but I mostly use my FireStick to play stuff from my Plex Server in which case speed quickly becomes an issue when watching Blu-ray REMUX movie rips where the file size can be up to 50GB per movie. And even though the FireStick’s Wifi speeds easily break the 100Mbps limit on most ethernet adapters, there’s just too much lag and buffering over wifi to make watching those kinds of files semi-bearable.Then I stumbled upon this adapter and my prayers were finally answered. As can see in the screenshot I took using a network speed test app on my FireStick 4k , with this adapter I consistently get download speeds of 300-350 Mbps and uploads speeds of 250-280 Mbps (I have Fios gigabit ethernet) which is amazing. Now there isn’t more than a split second of buffering at the very beginning with any movie/videos I watch, even massive blu-ray movie rips. It worked so well I ended up buying additional adapters for every FireStick in my house plus a few for my parents’ Fire Sticks. It’s been about 4 months now since I bought them too without any issues so I feel confident saying the quality of the product matches the excellent performance.(Note: if you’re wondering why the speed isn’t closer to 1000Mbps since the adapter uses a gigabit port, the reason is all FireStick models use USB 2.0 ports for power/wired network connections and USB 2.0 has a max speed of 480 Mbps, which is usually much lower when it comes to real world use–typically you can expect speeds of ~250-300 Mbps or lower for most USB 2.0 devices, at best made 375-400 Mbps if you’re lucky.)

Worse than Amazon 100M ethernet
Bought this so I could get above the Amazon brands 100M limit – hoping for a better picture quality. I measure ~315M with this which sounds great. With the Amazon ethernet TV never buffered. With the cable matters Iâm seeing buffering and sometimes a degraded picture. My guess is speed test is good but likely the throughput is not consistent. Went back to the amazon ethernet and even though its limited to 100M – buffering issue is gone. Past the return window so its just lost money.

The best adapter. What are other reviews even talking about?
I’m a tech enthusiast that for some reason was late for the Firestick party… I tried several different types of combinations. Using WiFi only, OTG adapters with USB connectors, USB Splitters with Lan adapters and all of them had been defeated by this adapter. I’ve always respected cable matters products throughout the years and this was no exception. Out all the tests and combinations i tested this one was always fast and consistent on a Firestick Gen 3 2023 4K Max. If you want a stable, solid, dependable smooth connection for you new Fire Stick, look no further. I already did the homework, this is the one to keep.

I have a few firetv sticks scattered around the house. Until recently, all were hard wired through Amazon ethernet adapters. I decided to give the Cable Matters Micro USB to Ethernet Adapter a try. Unfortunately it did not improve my speed. I tried it on a second FireTV stick and surprisingly it worked well, giving me 350 mbps. I decided to give the first FireTV stick a second try. Still only 93 mbps. I changed the ethernet cable and the Cable Matters adapter worked perfectly, also delivering 350 mbps. I will be buying this product again.

It doesn’t reach the full 480Mbps of course in the real world. but it does keep a rock steady connection of at least 300+ Mbps which is essentially enough bandwidth for all types of network needs for the firestick. If you experience stutters with wifi, especially with high bitrate/bandwidth requirements 50+Mbps; HIGHLY recommend this adapter.Reminder: Wifi is convenient, not consistent; speedtests are not a reliable measure of consistent throughout over wifi.

These are great for streaming. I rely on these to get consistent internet for the firestick. I did a lot of research and found that Amazon’s own Ethernet adapter maxes out at 100mbps. For a few dollars more it only made sense to grab these (purchased 4), that offer 320mbps download speed. If you are paying for 100+ mpbs internet, it only makes sense to purchase an adapter that does just that.I’ve read other reviews that these go on sale for $20. Sadly I paid a bit more but as I mentioned above they are worth the extra few dollars.Buy these! They are solid and I like that you can get rid of 1 cord running down the wall. Simply plug in to the USB port in the back of the TV for a more cleaner look. You will still have the eternet cord but I can live with that! 🙂
