Lessons for career minded professionals from beginners to CEOs
I downloaded this book to my Kindle tonight and was pleasantly surprised how inspirational and easy to read this book is. Couldn’t put it down until the end.Every young person starting out their career should read this book and take to heart the advices the author gives in very simple terms: things you might do that can destroy your career and things you can do to propel your career. I’ve seen CEOs that have ruined their careers by ignoring some of the things the author tells you in plain conversational style never to do.This book is a must read.John Crossman is a commercial real estate leader whom I have seen deliver lectures, promote diversity and mentor students and young professionals who will become the leaders of tomorrow with Mr. Crossman’s support and encouragement. Now he is earning the new title of “author” by demonstrating a unique skill in coveying his message through the printed word. I love the way he incorporates messages from public figures from Oprah Winfrey to Mahatma Gandhi to teach career minded people what to do and more importantly what not to do.The most critical attributes of an aspiring individual are integrity, dedication, lifelong learning and hard work, qualities the author conveys by living the example and promulgating to the next generation of business leaders.

Just Read It!
Whether youâre just about to graduate from college or are already in the working world, this book is a must read.Mr. Crossman draws out a very simple yet in depth and clear outline of the things that will help you thrive in your career and things that can destroy your career. He ties in real life examples which makes them all the more memorable and interesting to read. Not only does this book provide a guide to help you prosper in your current or future career (or job if youâre not in your career yet) but it also defines the difference between the two and emphasizes the importance of evolving towards that career that is going to get you out of bed, eager for the day to come.Iâve read quite a bit of books that have focused on specific facets of the business and working world, however, this is the first book that I have read that sets a very dynamic foundation on how to grow both interpersonally and career wise.

Great for the budding professional
Much of this advice is perfect for the soon to be graduate. If you have been in an industry for a while this may be second nature. Worth the money none the less.

No words (itâs that good)!
Thankfully this book is full of brilliant words. There are no words to give the timing justice of when I read it. The author is skilled. Itâs been a few years since reading the book and about to enjoy again with as much excitement as the first time. Looking forward to the insights revealed in this season. Thanks for the words of wisdom!

Informative and easy to read for anyone who works
For anyone desiring succinct knowledge concerning how to behave in the work arena, this book is for you. I myself am around the corner from starting my career journey, and I want to be as prepared as possible for it, so this book sparked my interest. It took minimal time and effort to read âCareer Killers, Career Buildersâ because all the information is right to the point and the language is accessible. Additionally, all the advice is brimming with real-life examples which sustains your interest. A section of the book I distinctly remember is when John Crossman describes how a mentoring relationship ought to function. One might think it would not be mutually beneficial due to the mentor having all the money and experience. But the author helpfully points out that the mentee does indeed have assets to contribute; they are simply in a different currency from the mentorâs. Examples of these different assets include free time, social media savvy, etc. Like myself, you are bound to find the information in this book useful and enlightening.
