Can’t complain
I am truly in love with this router. It has great range for a home network, and does not reduce speeds. As a matter of fact, we did a speed test on the following items.Hard wired laptopGalaxy S4Galaxy Note 10.1 tabletPC with a d-link wireless cardOur house is approximately 3000 square feet and rectangular in shape. The router is approximately in the middle of the house and extends well to the back bedrooms, and to the side rooms on the edges of the house, and out in the garage and driveway. The hard wired laptop was getting 32-33mbps using Ookla’s speed test. (we only have the 30mbps package with our isp)The phone was getting 29-30 and the tablet was getting 25-27. The PC gets about the same as the laptop. The best part is, none of the speeds really dropped from there, until we got out in to the driveway and even then it was only by a few MB’s.I realize that is not the best test, or the most detailed, but just to give an idea for the review. The set up is so incredibly easy. Although, I will say, we did have to contact our ISP to get the password for our modem, because it needed to be in BRIDGE mode. If anyone has connectivity issues, work on figuring out a hard reset on your modem and then get the administrator password from your ISP to set it to bridge mode if not already. The worse part about that was waiting for 1o minutes on hold to get the password….once i got their password and set it to bridge mode, set up took a few minutes. For basic networks, the basic set up is really all you will need. There are many advanced options though, which I may end up using on my 5ghz network since that does my streaming.I am getting better quality streaming videos on a consistent basis. I never get any hangups when streaming baseball games, WatchESPN, or any of those services. The network is very reliable for the basics.I will mention I ordered a “used” one first, that came from another seller, just sloppily tossed in a box. I wasn’t happy with it and it did seem to have some issues. Perhaps it was returned for a reason, and needs to be refurbished. I contacted Amazon and did a return and purchased a new one directly from Amazon, and am now getting these good results.(quick note for anyone using Samsung Galaxy….the message we’re all getting now that says “your network is unstable” has nothing to do with the router….this started after my last Samsung/ATT update and I realized it wasn’t the router after it did it on 4 other networks)I am very happy with this purchase. I even enjoy the shape of the router. Very different, and doesn’t look bad just sitting out.

Works well. Great range compared to predecessor D-Link 655 (which was great too)
For D-Link users the interface hasn’t changed over the last 5 years at least, so for me it was an easy setup. This think definitely has good range. I really bought it due to the boasting of its range, which I can confirm. I have it in our basement and it gives a good strong signal to an upstairs bedroom that is about 70 feet away through a variety of walls, etc. Good enough for streaming video.Throughput is great too. I went from about 100mb/sec to over 215 on a wireless n connection to a desktop from the same location as my old D-Link 655.Don’t have any ac capable devices yet, so can’t comment on those features. Still using good ole “n”.

Good router unless you need easy time limits, falls short on usability
I was attracted to the product by the promise of performance/range and I used to own a D-Link before (loyalty). The performance of the router is as D-Link promises – fast with very good range. Gaming, streaming, browsing – I never had any issues with it. It’s a pretty basic use case mainly devices communicating through the internet pipe.As I have kids in my household I need time limits though and that’s the cause of a lot of frustration. You’d think you can set time limits like “on weekdays from 9pm to 7am in the morning”. For some reason that doesn’t work (begin of the time interval on a different day that end?) and sending a note to D-Link customer support though their site did not yield an answer. Their help file is vague on this scenario. May just be a simple scenario, though it not working leads to more headache and wasted more time than necessary. The rules are enforced in a curious way – once there is a connection it will not be interrupted by a policy. That may sound good for an ftp transfer, and defeats the purpose altogether when the kid is on skype or facetime until the wee hours.Comparing with another ‘leading brand’ I found that the time limits are much more transparent to set up there and overall configuration is much more usable. That highlighted to me that D-Link offers great hardware and performance, but the interface and usability are stuck in the previous decade – hard to use and not always logical. The ideas such as defining schedules and being able to have rules to apply a schedule to a policy with many devices are good. The implementation is weak.Another thing to note – there is no easy way to wirelessly extend the range through a repeater. That’s compensated for by the smartbeam technology to a degree. However, in settings where you need to cover say 200ft through some walls it still won’t be enough. Other products seem to offer this wireless extensibility.I have to assume that households with kids are a large part of the user base for these types of routers and after 9 months and too many hours trying to tinker with the rules I have resolved to move to another product. Hence, two stars off.Admittedly, I may be using features that other may not be as critical to others. If so and you have a simple network config then this is a powerful product at a decent price.

Great router. B1 hardware version has a good easy to set up interface and manage it remotely via a pc and mobile app.

Configuración compleja para alguien que no sepa de informatica, anular la wifi del router de movistar y poner este ha sido mision imposible para mi.He quedado muy decepcionado.

Range not that great. Otherwise it’s a good Router but not worth the price.
