A wonderful little digital camera, perfect for kids!
I ordered this camera for my 8-year-old daughter to use during our summer travels this year, and it’s been a big hit so far! We both gave a little squeal when we opened the box together, because this camera IS SO CUTE. Not only is it one of her and my favorite colorsâpinkâbut it’s smaller than I thought it would be, which somehow makes it even cuter! The size is perfect for little hands, as is the functionality. The camera has a protective silicone exterior, which is always a smart idea when pairing kids and electronics. There’s also a nice carrying strap/lanyard to help prevent drops in the first place.I played around with the camera for a few minutes before reading any directions, and it was very easy to figure things out. I handed it to my daughter next to see what she could do on her own without direction, and it was very intuitive. The icons on the rear screen are kid-friendly (even for pre-readers) and easy to see. It’s cool that the camera comes preloaded with fun frames and editing features as well as some little games. As others have mentioned, the picture quality isn’t the best, but for a kids’ camera at this price point (currently $14.99), it’s better than I expected. Not to mention the fact that kids are currently loving the old disposable cameras we used in the ’90s/early 2000s, so obviously image quality isn’t all that important to them, haha! 😉 It’s been really fun to scroll through this little camera and see what my images daughter chooses to capture day to day. There are adorable selfies with our dogs, pics of random toys, vignettes she created with her dollsâ¦it’s so much fun watching the world through her eyes and seeing the little things we tend to overlook as adults.

Keep in mind it’s for children
This is not the best, high-quality digital camera, however, it is a great starter camera for kids who are interested in photography. I’m thrilled that I can offer something that seems to be durable, has fun colors, and has real results for the child. Great starter camera.

Low image quality and needs TF card, but a fantastic product overall
I didn’t get this for a kid — I’m a professor doing research in computational photography and I got this to hack for research purposes. Thus, I’m going to review it critically although I’m sure a kid would be very happy with this — once you add a TF card.First off, what you’re getting for the price here is amazingly featureful and I would think a kid would be thrilled to get and use one of these. It’s not just a tiny camera with a color rear LCD; it actually has both forward and backward facing cameras, has a built-in rechargeable battery, and comes with charging cable and a nicer-than-average wrist strap. I have no clue how they can sell this for around $10; the main components alone cost significantly more than that if bought separately — which is why I bought this to hack. The firmware in the camera is pretty minimal in terms of camera control options, but has the usual fun filters and frames; it also has some simple games built-in. It is unfortunate that this doesn’t include a TF card, because you need one to get images off the camera. The camera pretty much does what the ad says it should do and, honestly, the images look great on the rear color LCD. Unfortunately, that’s about as high-resolution as the images really get. The ad states 200MP still resolution, which is a total halucination, but the camera can provide up to 48MP stills. The catch is, the pixel count isn’t the resolution. Yes, the two images here were shot with it and are each 7680×5760 pixel JPEGs, but the detail present suggests that the sensor is actually just 640×480 and very low-quality interpolation is used to scale up to a very blocky-looking 48MP. The JPEG compression is also a bit too aggressive, smearing away low-contrast details even at 640×480 resolution. Video was rendered at 1440×1080 (not the standard 1920×1080 16:9 aspect ratio) and looked about as good as one could hope for, but the audio didn’t record the loudly chirping birds in the attached clip. The other thing worth noting is that the camera does NOT present itself as a USB device when attached to a computer. Despite the ad saying it can be used for file transfer, the USB interface is exclusively for charging. You have to use the TF card with a reader to get the photos out; it will let you shoot to internal memory without a TF card, but I couldn’t get the images out. Incidentally, the camera end of the USB cable is USB C with a standard USB A connector on the charger end.In the bottom of the ad, they give some detailed specs, including that the sensor is a 1/4″ 640×480. Unfortunately, they also give a variety of obviously incorrect specs: an effective still resolution of 2MP (it delivers 0.3MP), “maximum webcam image resolution” of 200MP (it delivers 48MP, but can’t function as a webcam), say “compatible mountings” is Micro Four Thirds (it has no relationship to MFT), and say “viewfinder type” is optical (it is a rear LCD). These incorrect specs are likely to have been taken from component datasheets without realizing they don’t apply to the camera as built. In summary, this stand-alone camera contains the optical equivalent of two $3 webcams — which, given the price, is an awesomely good deal. Strongly recommended as long as you’re OK with 640×480 stills and decent-looking video that isn’t the standard aspect ratio and has audio issues. NOTE: you will need to buy a TF card to be able to get images off this camera; a typical max-resolution JPEG is around 2MB, so even the cheapest 4GB TF card would hold around 2000 images. You’ll also need a standard USB charger.

Can’t be beat for the price
I have extremely low expectations of a $15 camera. Everyone should. This, however, is an amazing value for the price. The LCD screen isn’t awesome or anything, but it’s actually way better than I expected. I was also pleasantly surprised that it included an internal rechargeable battery AND had a USB-C port rather than the much more fragile mini or micro USB ports often on inexpensive items. The picture quality is about what you would have expected from a low end phone about 10 years ago, but that’s still better than most kid-centric cameras. You do need to bring your own micro SD card to store pictures. I happened to have a spare 32GB one lying around that it was able to immediately adopt and use. The camera material is a soft rubber that feels like it can take the shock of a kid’s abuse, and we’ll see how it holds up over time. Overall my 4 year old really loves it, and that’s what really counts.

A nearly indestructible and easy to use camera for young (3 and up) kids
This thing is light and durable. It’s extremely easy to take pictures with but has a lot more features than I would’ve expected. In addition to video and stills it can do graphic overlays from a built in library or some simple visual effects like tone shifting. My 5 year old is getting pretty good at taking pictures of things she’s interested in. My 3 year old has figured out how to take pictures on her own, but is still trying to master putting the subject in frame. The only two complaints I have are 1) the optional lanyard is not choke proof and so we don’t use it and 2) the SD card slot is exposed on the side which means curious fingers might be able to get it out. Definitely NOT for children under three or who are still putting things in their mouth.

Small, versatile, camera for kids.
This is a small, versatile camera for kids. A great gift. The quality of images and video is surprisingly good (with realistic expectations). Great for very little budding photographers!I will update this review if needed based on further experience.
