Waiting to test
I just got this gas monitor and waiting to put it to the test. Took a while to charge it to the point that it would operate. I will report back on my tests.

Barely detected natural gas pouring out of my grill
Charged the unit immediately after receiving it. To get an idea of how much will trigger it, I put it into my natural gas grill, turned the gas on full from one knob and closed the lid. I waited 1 minute and the area around my grill smelled horribly of natural gas. The unit only showed 6 l/mmol of Ex. I turned on the second burner (without the flame obviously) and closed the lid. Same thing. The whole area around my grill smelled horribly of natural gas and this thing barely detected it and didn’t alarm. Useless. Can’t wait to return it.

Rechargeable CO monitor
The portable CO detector includes a zippered, black carrying case that protects it from drops. It has a large display with time and date on top and battery level. It has three buttons – up and down and a red power button that also functions as a confirmation button. To charge it, I slide down a cover on the left side to get access to the USB port. On the back, I have a stainless steel clamp to attach the monitor onto something. When I power it on, it takes a few seconds to boot, and I get information on what values the alarm goes off and what unit is used. When I press the up button, I can see the current charge, monitor time, the date and time. Pressing the down button, I enter the menu. The menu has many sections, starting with Alarm Record. So far, mine still has no data because I had no high level of CO. I can set the low and high Alarm values. I can perform a Zero Adjust and Calibration. I can set the time and date. Set the Backlight to turn off automatically or normally on. I can secure the menu by setting up a password. Under channel, I can see lower and upper alarm values, the range and unit used. I can set the language. I can set the unit between ppm and micro mol per mol and lastly, I can exit the menu.I haven’t found a test button, which I commonly see in many CO detectors to manually test the alarm function.

Terrific – very good quality and a solid value
This detector is rugged and well constructed. It is hard to believe the modest price given the really nice quality, but I’ll take it!I think the accuracy is pretty spot on, based on trying it out side by side with an older and more expensive unit. They were neck and neck, which was surprising. At this price, I would say this is a hands down no brainer. This is as good as it gets in terms of quality and value.

A Serious Professional tool!
I’m difficult to impress, it doesn’t happen too often. When I opened the box and powered this little tool on, I wasn’t expecting it to talk to me. It does a power on test when you first start it, to make sure everything is functioning right. You know it’s not playing around, has a detailed screen that’s backlit. Shows you in real time the CO in your vicinity. The top has lights on it to alert you of dangerous levels, there’s no way you’ll miss a alert. It will get your attention. Solid little unit, feels like it’s designed to withstand impacts too, if that wasn’t enough, it comes with a nice case where you can keep the charging cord, instruction book and the unit itself. It’s a professional too for anybody to use, it’s not complicated or difficult to understand. You just power it on, and it does the rest. Has a belt clip that’s handy to take anywhere with you. A must have for safety, this will definitely be my go to tool from now on.
