Compact, Affordable, and Functions Like New
I donât print often, as most of my work is digital, so I needed a printer that wouldnât break the bank for occasional use. This refurbished HP laser printer was the perfect choice. The price was much lower than buying new, which was great because a brand new model can be quite expensive. Even though it’s refurbished, it functions just as well as a new one, and you wouldn’t know it had been used before. The fact that itâs a laser printer is a big plus for me since I donât have to worry about ink drying up, unlike with inkjets. It comes with a toner, and I love that itâs a all-in-one printer with a feeder, scanning bed, and copier functionality. Despite being a laser printer, itâs very compact compared to other models, fitting perfectly into my space. Itâs black and white, which is all I need. Overall, itâs exactly what I was looking for, and Iâm very happy with this purchase!

Worked Really well, for about an hour
It was delivered to my home yesterday and I put in the password on my router. So for a few hours, I was very fortunate until the machine just quit working and I had to put that 40 pound box in my car and take it to UPS since Amazon is apparently no longer Assisting in that need by having UPS pick it up.

Works great on my Linux system
This works fantastic on my Slackware Linux! It took a bit for me to get it all dialed in, and the printer itself had to do some downloading of drivers, which wasn’t in the instructions and kept me wondering what the heck was going wrong for about 15 minutes trying to figure it out, but once it got its ‘extra’ drivers, and once it established the wireless connection, it worked perfectly. It starts printing almost immediately when sent a job, and prints quite fast, for example a 44 page document that I needed to print I setup to print double-sided and hit start…it took about 2 minutes maybe. Very nice! The print quality is superb, even when using econo mode. The scanning is also quick. It holds a lot of paper, and yes, you have to open the paper compartment using two hands – one on each side of the tray to pull the tray out – but unless you’re just lazy it’s not a big deal.If you’re getting this for an office, make sure anyone using a computer has the ability to send their job to the printer from their computer so that they don’t have to mess with the controls on the printer itself. The reason being the control panel is really small – 2 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ – and if you have big fingers it’s a real PITA using it.Other than that one ‘con’ about this printer, I couldn’t be happier. HP supports Linux very, very well, and is the reason I had to get rid of my Brother printer because even though they had Linux drivers for their printer, they’re not very good and not for all Linux distro’s. Whereas HP comes almost standard on many distro’s using KDE or Gnome (I’m taking a guess on Gnome as I don’t use that DE (desktop environment)), and works wonderfully on your computer. This may be an older model, but it does what I want and need, the price is right, and really isn’t much slower or ‘less’ in any way from something newer, other than maybe the control panel (just guessing), and is going to pay for itself quite quickly with the saving of ‘ink’, etc.
