Velop’ s WiFi Extender, WORKS!
We have installed and used the Linksys Velop Two node Mesh System for two years and have had no problems from the get go. This summer, one of our daughters has been staying with us and working out of our house. She frequently tried to work out on our patio but found that the WiFi service was spotty. We purchased the Velop extender for our system, installed it and at the same time, upped our internet speed. We are happy to report that doing these things has given us faster and more reliable internet usage out on our patio. We ordered our Velop extender online from Amazon and it was delivered three days ahead of when it was promised. It was easy to install, as long as you follow the instructions. Read Instructions twice (maybe three times), install ONCE!

What a fantastic improvement in WiFi speed and converage
I bought an initial system of one router and one repeater unit as my “mesh”, replacing several routers and repeaters with the usual confusing array of channel numbers and names. The Velop mesh worked very well to improve speed and quality of WiFi connections. I found that in the most distant rooms, the coverage didn’t quite reach all areas and so I added a second “satelite”. The system practically installs itself so it was easy to do with very clear instructions. The result is I now have perfect coverage and excellent speed (250GBs) WiFi throughout the house and no issues as you move from room to room or floor to floor–the transition is seamless.

Easy to Use and Install Wifi Extenders
Simple enough to use and setup. We have two of these, one up and one downstairs, and so I think they work pretty well. Like all wifi it’s limited by doors, walls and other structures with in homes.I would recommend.

No more dropouts while mowing
Extended my range outside while doing yard work. Works great with my velop mesh setup.

Great range extension to my pool area
I have had the Velop 3 tower mesh system in my house for at least a year. It has been fantastic and trouble free. Great Wifi all over the house. My problem area is a pool house area down below my main space. It is a pretty good distance down there. Ethernet over powerline does not work since the pool house is on a different circuit. I plugged the Velop extension node in down there, and configured it with the terrific app in no time. It has totally solved the problem. My speeds are around 50 meg down and 10 up down there, which is totally adequate for web surfing, email, music, streaming etc. My speeds inside the house are perhaps double that, but it is irrelevant to my needs. So, I am very pleased. I have been looking for a solution to this admittedly first world problem ( internet by my pool…) for a number of years. Problem solved.

Very poor support
The basic Velop system works well, but this plug extender was a complete flop. The extender created interruption after interruption on the system. After less than 3 months the extender completely failed. NOW customer support is a complete failure and nightmare. I wound through the system for five hours and was finally approved for a replacement. Two emails were supposed to advise as to the return process. One arrived with no instructions and the beginning of another process that I could not complete even though I had a Case number with an authorization for replacement. This company proved to be a disaster when it comes to support, and of course remember that the product had failed within 3 months. I have been an electronics technician since 1949 and an electronics engineer working in networking since 1964 as well as a developer of Microsoft and Apple applications. I would advise staying away from this company.

If you have a Velop Mesh, this is a good way to extend your network
If you have invested in Linksys’s Velop ecosystem, you really don’t have a huge choice in a stand alone single mesh node. This one solves a nice issue in that it self contained, plugs right into an outlet and avoids the need to put it on a table or purchase a separate wall mount. It’s out of site which to me is a good thing. It’s really easy to set up and you can do it via your phone Bluetooth or via WiFi. And the price is right, a real plus. Now the not so good… This is only a dual band so if your Velop Router is a tri band, you will not be utilizing all the bandwidth you could. And you have your choice of colors, as long as that color is white!

Works first , Factory Reboot to new master node a total FAIL !
Beware on Factory Reset !! This booster works ok – but getting it to factory reset when you upgrade your master node is a nightmare !! And support – offshored to the Phillipines – is reasonably quick to and answer the phone , but useless in resolving it . I am an engineering leader in a tech company and I’ve restarted this device 10 times and the mobile app / device handshake on reboot just FAILs to work. I’ve bought the excellent new master node MX5 – and I recommend that to everyone (10/2020 Seattle ), – but I have two of these boosters and can’t get them to Reset. Going to be a $200 throwaway experience – despite phoning Linksys . The worst product member of an otherwise superb product line – don’t buy it !
