Setup immediate & simple
Homekit add with QR code. One and done. Simplest add I’ve done. Meross better figure it out or this company will crush them. Matter is best!

Works Directly with Google Home
These smart plugs work great. They work directly with Google Home. There is no third party app required to make them work. Once set up, they are controlled directly through Google Home.
Setup was a breeze. Add a new item in Google Home. Scan the QR code on the smart plug. Then pretty much follow the prompts. That’s it!
The only issue I had is that one of the four plugs went offline. So I had to setup the smart plug again. Hopefully, it doesn’t happen again to that and any of the other plugs.

Works Great!!!
Not sure what everyone else was talking about but if you are using Apple Home it connects right away after scanning the QR code.

Reliable and Quick Pairing !
I have many smart plugs in my house, but this is the first one which I got with Matter support. I have been using it for the past month, and I must say it is incredibly reliable. The best feature of this plug is how easy it is to pair. As soon as I plugged it in, I received notifications on all my Pixel phones to set up a Matter device. I didn’t even need to open the Google Home app or Smart Life app. The next step was to scan the QR code, add a name to the device, and boom, it was set up in the Google Home app. It is very simple.
You can also set it up in the Smart Life app, but for that, you need to open the app on your phone. It will immediately show the notification for setting up the Matter device. If your Smart Life app is linked with Google Home, it will also appear in Google Home. The only small advantage of using the Smart Life app is that there are explicit buttons to set up schedules and timers with this plug, whereas with Google Home, you need to give verbal commands like “Switch on my plug every Tuesday at 9 PM.” The Smart Life app also supports restoring the plug to its last state (on/off) in case of a power outage. Another cool feature only supported with SmartLife app is the child lock, which requires you to press the physical on/off button four times to switch off the plug. The child lock feature needs to be enabled every time the plug is switched on.
One important point to note is that your phone must be connected to the same 2.4GHz network you want your plug to connect to before you start configuring it. This plug only supports a 2.4GHz network. If your phone is connected to a 5GHz network, you will see the notification to pair the new Matter device, but it will keep trying to connect and eventually time out.
Overall, I am very happy with the performance and versatility of this plug, given its Matter support. I definitely recommend it.

Once set up thse work great, but I had some difficulty getting them to connect to Alexa.
The standard instructions for adding one of these to Alexa is outlined in the Alexa app, but it cannot be used to connect them. I found if I plugged them into a socket, my phone would automatically detect them and you followed the on screen instructions which involve for me telling my Android Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra NOT to use the Google Home app when prompted and to select use another app. Then select Alexa if you are going to integrate them with Alexa. I also found after quite a lot of experimentation that the plugs have to be VERY close to your Alexa device or it won’t connect. I was about 15 feet away at first and found that if I moved it to an outlet right beside my Alexa I could get everything to enumerate and connect.
So keep that in mind when trying to connect these plugs to an Alexa device. I actually set them up where the Alexa was within 10 feet or less and then once it was set up, I unplugged it and moved it to the part of my house I wanted to locate it. It reconnects with no issues by doing this – the plug remembers all of the setup information and it comes right online after moving it to its new home. I took a couple stars off of ease of use as it took me a couple of hours to get the first one to pair as I was using alternate instructions that did not work. Once you know what to do and how to do it they are pretty painless. You’ll likely have to change your phone to a 2G connection – or at least I did and seem to recall having to do this for other smart devices just to set them up, then you can go back to a 5G connection once the plug is all registered.

Good Smart Plug with a Caveat
This Eightree Matter smart plug is one of the most easily connectable plugs to any smart hub that belongs to Matter Alliance including the SmartThings which I use. I always try to find any smart accessory that is compatible with either native SmartThings or Matter protocol to avoid complicated pairing process or use of extra third-party app.
Install is very easy. Just plug in, then it will be ready to be paired showing blinking lights (if not long-press the power button). The easiest and simplest way is to scan the Matter QR-code on the device and follow the instruction on your phone. Itâs simply painless and smooth pairing process unlike other protocols.
I want to point out the most problematic design flaw is that the size of the plug; the size of the plug is just too big and two plugs cannot fit into the standard outlet. It would be strongly advisable to make them smaller in diameter or change the profile to either square or flat at the top and bottom to be used side by side (up and down) in the standard AC outlet. Is the Chinese standard outlet spacing different from the US standard outlet?
Other than the size problem, this plug is as good as any smart plugs. 10 Amp rating should be good enough for most smart and automation applications. This will only work with 2.4 GHz WIFI connection, though.

So Convenient
I have a couple of “appliances” that are a little pain to have to manually switch on/off. These plug ins are perfect for those items. I can just use my phone to turn them on or put them on a timer. So easy to use.

Added easily to my Echo
I used the Alexa App to add this plug using my Echo 4th gen. You scan the QR code on the device and then it gets added to the App. You can then use the App and your voice to turn it on and off. Pretty simple, no fancy features. The device is ETL tested which is good. They put the QR code on the side of the unit, but I wish they put it on the back. No need to be able to see it after its installed Max load is 10 amps, so be careful of loads that are higher than that. This unit does not provide power monitoring.

Works with Alexa, Google Home, and Siri! I have 3 of these devices and they can all work simultaneously. 10/10 will recommend.
However, not recommended for connection to plug-in heaters.
It overheats this product and makes the heater uncontrollable even when you remotely switch on or off.
Lesson learned, but best smart plug-in ever.

These smart plugs work well with Alexa for voice control and appear to have a good antenna in them as I have not had any lost connections even placed on a different floor of the house from the Echo Show and router.
I have quite a few smart devices including switches, environmental monitors, motion detectors, IR blasters etc. Pairing of these was no more of less difficult than most devices. If you have done a number of devices you should be able to pair easily, but if not the web page that the manual has a QR code for has good instructions on how to do this.
There are two issues with these to be aware of. First the maximum current these are rated for is 10A, so you can not use this for devices that draw near the maximum rated wattage of a 15A circuit – like space heaters, some coffee makers etc. Make sure you check the wattage/Amps of what you are planning to control with this. The main use I have for these is lighting (floor lamps, table lamps) which these are fine for. The second issue is the size/shape of these. Plugging one into a Decora style plug blocks the use of a second smart plug due to their shape and size. I did not have any issue with plugging in other cords however, including both cords with and without ground prongs. I suspect this design is on purpose ads the Wifi signal may have trouble if two of them are plugged in so close together, but this is just a guess.
I was also curious how much power these draw on their own. When off they draw approximately 11mA (this translates to close to a couple bucks a year per plug). That power draw doubles to 20mA when turned on with nothing plugged into them.
Good smart plug that was easy to hook up to Alexa and build a couple of different routines for. They have not dropped the connection since installed.

The EIGHTREE brand smart outlet plug adapter 4 pack provides user ability to activate and control âsmartâ devices via a smart phone from virtually anywhere in the world. This compact 2 inch diameter and depth, unobtrusive, and innocuous looking device can literally enable the user to turn their smart phone into a remote control for virtually any electric device in the home.
The process begins by downloading the app available for both Android and iOS phones. This is followed by inserting the plug into a 110 V household receptacle and scanning the QR code using Bluetooth and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection. The devices are ETL and FCC certified providing additional safety and security assurances.
Once enabled, the plug is free to accept verbal commands through any of the major Matter Alliance platforms (Alexa, Siri, Google home, etc.). The Matter Alliance is a unifying standard designed to offer reliable, secure connectivity for devices to work seamlessly together. There are practically no limits to the number and types of possible connections between objects within the realm of the so-called âInternet of thingsâ
The present product under review provides a 4 pack of adapters that will enable any household or Wi-Fi connected ecosystem to effectively control any device or devices connected to a 110 V household power source. At a price per unit cost of approximately $10, the price/value metric is extremely favourable. This little 2 inch diameter device is a microphone, an electric plug, a computer processor, a digital communicator, an enabler, and so much more. It snaps to attention at the sound of your voice and faithfully follows your every command without drama.
This reviewer has a physical disability and there are several hard-to-reach electrical devices and light fixtures presently in the home environment where the adapters will be installed to allow remote control via the phone.
Conclusion: The EIGHTREE brand smart outlet plug adapter 4 pack provides user ability to activate and control âsmartâ devices via a smart phone from virtually anywhere in the world. An overall product score of 5/5 is assigned accordingly.

This is my third set of smart plugs, but definitely my first rodeo with matter-enabled plugs. Setup was a bit more involved for me than with other plugs (see the other review here for more details, your mileage may vary depending on which platform you’re using, wifi settings, and your mobile device to get a better idea). At the time of this review, the price was $39.99 (using a $10 coupon), so it works out to $10/CDN per plug, which I felt was good value. They have worked fine for me since the initial set-up hurdles, so I am not removing a star over that because your mileage will vary according to the factors listed above. I’d recommend them.

Nice! So far, this is working perfectly. Adding it to the Alexa app was nice and easy once I knew what to do. The instruction booklet wasn’t great, but there’s a little QR code that links to a ‘how to set up’ web page and that explains exactly what you need. It shows a bunch of different devices to connect it to, as well, so hopefully if you get this you should be able to find a guide to setting it up on your device via the website.
You have to choose ‘Other’ as the device in the app, then when it asks what type of device it is you choose Matter, then tell the app to use a QR code. There’s a QR code on the side of the plug to scan (it needs to be plugged in as you do this, though). Once you’ve done that, you can control it with Alexa!
I set up three of them in the basement and made a ‘routine’ in the Alexa app so that I can turn on the three plugs at the same time, and it’s working really well.
So far, so good! Happy with this. Matches the store page description and it’s a good price for four smart plugs like this. The only downside is the design of the plug – it can make it difficult to plug more than one thing into a double socket, as it’s a little wide. Not a huge problem for me, as the plugs I have are quite widely spaced, but could be an issue if you want to use a double socket.
