Budget stick that truly holds it’s own against the big boys.
I’ve been getting back into fighting games and I also play a lot of arcade games and Bullet Hell shooters on my PC so I thought an Arcade stick would be nice to have and mess around with. Of course I wasn’t prepared to drop over $100 on one when I wasn’t even sure if I’d like it. I had been eyeballing the Hori Fighting Stick Mini 4 for a while and have been wanting to pick one up but after Street Fighter V came out pretty much everyone sold out of them with no signs of when or if they might be back in stock.I saw the other Mayflash sticks like the V2 (the Ps2 and Ps3 compatible one) and the one that looks like it’s modeled after the Hori Fighting Edge. The feedback on them though was pretty mixed though with some saying the Joystick was mounted rather loosely and the buttons rest on the PCB and are hard to swap out. Then I came across this one. I saw some pretty decent reviews and opinions on it and heard it was built way better and is easier to mod than the other sticks so I finally decided to check it out. This stick is excellent for it’s price. I don’t have a lot of experience with other sticks but I’ve played with my friends Mad Catz Tournament Edition and various sticks in the Arcade and this definitely holds it’s own against other higher priced sticks. The stick isn’t very big but it still has some heft so it’ll stay in place but not so heavy that it’s uncomfortable in your lap though there’s only rubber feet and no cushion on the bottom. The stock buttons and joystick are nice and clicky and very responsive. I personally don’t feel any need to change out the buttons or stick until they start to give out. I might change the square gate to an octagonal gate though. So far it works great with everything I’ve used it in. Street Fighter (II Turbo HD Remix, III Third Strike Online and IV Ultra), Guilty Gear (XX Accent Core Plus R and Xrd), Skullgirls, Metal Slug, Mushimesama, Samurai Shodown, Raiden Fighters, etc. I play on PC and PS3 mainly and the stick was plug and play for both. I use the Xinput on PC so it acts like an Xbox controller and the Dinput on PS3 and have had no issues. Being able to switch between DPad and Joystick is pretty great as it does respond differently in some games. I don’t use the Turbo a lot but the fact that it’s there is still a nice touch for when I do want to use it.As I said I haven’t modded the stick at all but apparently this stick is incredibly easy to mod. The back of the stick just screws right off. The buttons all just snap in and out and the cables are all color coded. The Joystick though uses Microswitches rather than the 5 pin connector on say the Sanwa JLF or the Hori Hayabusa stick so if you want to change it to one of those you’ll need an adapter of some kind. Frankly if you just wanted to buy this stick and add all your own parts to it you’d still be saving money compared to a Hori Rap or a Mad Catz TE.Overall if your on the market for a stick but aren’t willing to take the plunge on the more high end sticks, this stick honestly holds up to it’s more expensive competition at a much more affordable price.

Pretty great entry level arcade stick.
I’m pretty new to this type of arcade stick. I didn’t want to spend $200-300 on a super high-end stick when I’m just starting out, and trying to figure out what configuration, and setup works best for me. Most people get arcade sticks for fighting games, which this works great for, but for me, it’s all about the shmups! The great thing about this stick, is that it works on every major console. I’ve got a ton of shmups on my Switch and PlayStation, and a smaller amount, but still fantastic games, on Xbox. I really like the heft of this stick. It’s not like smaller, cheaper, plastic sticks that bounce around while in use. It sits comfortably in my lap, and doesn’t move or bounce aroundð. The large metal plate on the bottom, is easy to remove, and the whole unit looks designed for easy upgrades, if you want to switch out for different types of buttons, or stick. For the price, right out of the box, I was quickly impressed, and would comfortably recommend this to anyone new, wanting to experiment with arcade sticks. Definitely worth the money imo.

Affordable and Versatile Arcade Stick â Great for Beginners and Enthusiasts Alike
As an old time fan of fighting games and arcade classics alike, I decided it was time to finally try an arcade stick for my PC and PS3 gaming sessions. I didnât want to spend over $100, especially since I wasnât sure how much Iâd use it. After researching various options, I chose the Mayflash F300. Hereâs my detailed experience with it so far:Build and Design:The Mayflash F300 impressed me right out of the box. Itâs compact yet sturdy, striking a perfect balance between portability and stability. I was expecting lower quality from anything under 100$ so I was pleasantly surprised. The stick has a solid weight that keeps it in place during intense gameplay, but itâs still comfortable to use on your lap. The rubber feet on the bottom provide good grip, though a cushioned base would have been a nice addition for extra comfort.Buttons and Joystick:The stock buttons and joystick are responsive and clicky, offering a satisfying tactile feel thatâs comparable to higher-end models like the Mad Catz Tournament Edition and arcade sticks. Iâve tested it extensively with games like Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, and Metal Slug, and it performs flawlessly. While the square gate joystick is precise, Iâm considering swapping it for an octagonal gate for a different feel â a testament to its easy modding potential.Compatibility and Functionality:The F300 is versatile and easy to set up. Itâs plug-and-play on both PC and PS3, supporting both Xinput and Dinput modes seamlessly. This means it can act like an Xbox controller on PC and a standard joystick on PS3, providing flexibility across different games. The switch between DPad and joystick modes is especially handy for different game types. It also features a Turbo button, which is a nice bonus for certain games.Modding Potential:One of the standout features of the Mayflash F300 is its modding potential. The back panel easily screws off, revealing a layout that makes swapping parts a breeze. The buttons snap in and out, and the cables are color-coded for straightforward customization. While the joystick uses microswitches rather than a 5-pin connector (like those on higher-end sticks), an adapter can solve this if you want to upgrade to a Sanwa JLF or Hori Hayabusa stick.Value for Money:Overall, the Mayflash F300 is an excellent entry-level arcade stick. It competes well with more expensive models, offering great performance at a fraction of the cost. Whether youâre new to arcade sticks or looking for a budget-friendly option, this stick is a fantastic choice.Pros:Sturdy and compact designResponsive buttons and joystickEasy plug-and-play setup for PC and PS3Great modding potentialExcellent value for the priceCons:No cushioned base, only rubber feetJoystick upgrade requires an adapter

This is a great entry-level arcade stick for PC. It says it’s compatible with various other consoles but I have not personally tested this. I’m not sure if it works with the USB directly. I would confirm, because I think it might work with the USB directly for PlayStation (not sure which one), you just may have to change the mode switch. On my box it says it works with Switch, PS3, PS4, Xbox (one, series X, 360), PC, macOS, streamdeck, Android, Raspberry Pi, and NeoGeo mini (I don’t even know what this last one is lol). A paper insert says it’ll work with PS5 and shows a photo of a wireless adapter. I would personally not get it if you require an adapter to connect to whatever you plan on playing on since that would add input latency and you likely are considering buying it to improve your performance. Then again, I wouldn’t use wireless controllers in general and prefer wired for this reason. You’ll notice in my photos I’ve censored the ball. That’s because I don’t want to be in the photos and the shiny blue and black surfaces are quite shiny and reflective, this is why I had to censor the ball! It is a nice, shiny ball. Too shiny for Amazon reviews.I have switched away from this device and went to leverless, but I think this is a great device and I’ll go over the pros and cons.Pros:- Seems to be compatible with a variety of consoles, and works well with PC- It displays both the Playstation and Xbox labels on the buttons, which is super helpful when the game shows icons and you need to see which icon that is on the stick, so it’s great for learning and knowing which button is which right away. My leverless only has Playstation buttons and I play on PC so I miss that feature that this stick has. There’s less on my mental stack when I can see both Playstation and Xbox labels.- USB passthrough allows me to plug in an Xbox controller and use it for navigating menus, since using the arcade stick for this purpose can be a pain in the butt. This is the feature I miss the most after switching to a leverless controller that doesn’t have a USB passthrough port.- Comes with a square gate (installed) and a hexagonal gate, which I understand might help beginners hit diagonal inputs better, but I haven’t tried opening it up and switching it, so I can’t speak to that experience- Nice clicky sound for the lever, though the buttons don’t have that clickyness.- Seems like you could customize it if you wanted to. I did not try to open it up and do so, but it lists compatibility with a popular button brand.- Available on Amazon means you don’t have to wait 2+ months to get it like some of the other more prestigious brands- The price is right! I paid $139.99 CAD. I wasn’t sure I’d like it, and even though I eventually moved to something else I like more, I think this was a good buy, and it’s nice to have around because I sometimes still want to use it when I need to do 360° motions, which is harder for me on leverless.Cons:- Buttons feel a bit harder to press than my leverless controller, requiring more force than ideal, resulting in fatigue and pain sooner than ideal.- The surface material of the buttons and stick seem to collect oils and skin particles really easily, and I seem to leave DNA traces after every gaming session. I think my skin is being ground off with every joystick movement and button press. I need to clean it after every session so it doesn’t look gross. I just use a microfibre cloth or paper towel for this, but gunk accumulates near the button ring, requiring a toothbrush- It’s quite tall and heavy. This might be a pro to some, as I hear some people like the weight larger arcade sticks have so they don’t move around while you’re playing.- I get random up inputs when doing quarter, half, and full circle motions. This is likely an execution issue on my part, but I find it’s easy for my inputs to be sloppy.I would recommend keeping the box and the foam insert. It looks like it would make it more hassle-free to travel with if you do plan on traveling with it since TSA tends to destroy things they don’t know what they are, but if it’s in a box with all the information on it, it might be less likely to get destroyed by TSA.Overall this is a high-value item that I think is a good buy for anyone trying to get into arcade sticks.

even though you can plug it into a ps5 without a magiboot you can only play ps4 games on the ps5 without it.

I play ranked street fighter matches and have been an avid player for years. Getting this arcade stick was like getting a love letter fromfighting games. I kid you not. This is one sturdy piece of equipment and those buttons wonât spoil easily. Easy to setup, plug and play. Additional drivers that let you switch setup to Xbox or PlayStation is helpful.
