A rugged steel case that will survive in our shop
If you’re looking for a fairly compact unmanaged ethernet switch, you’ll enjoy the simplicity & utility of this device. There is a manual (of sorts) included that pertains mostly to POE switches & managed switches that this company also manufactures apparently. You won’t need the manual – this is just a simple plug-n-play ethernet switch. If you’re buying this item, you probably already know how to use it. It’s simple, it’s rugged and it does its job.The power adapter has an output of 5vdc @1A which is happily the same as a standard USB accessory charger. The cable on the power supply is only about 2 feet long, but usually there are AC outlets or a power strip nearby your modem/router. Happily the power jack is a fairly standard 5.5×2.1mm coaxial barrel connector…I found that powering this switch from a USB cable that has a coaxial barrel connector of the identical size (from my junk box) and just plugged the USB-A end into my power strip! Luckily my power strip has a few unused USB power outlets. Very convenient for me as all of the AC sockets are occupied. Please note that although there are 8 ethernet ports on this device, 1 will be used for your LAN return connection – so there are really only 7 device input jacks for ethernet. Very obvious but I had to point it out.The green ‘activity’ lights (labeled 1~8) on the top of the device are not extremely bright and only indicate activity on each port. As long as I view them head on, they’re pretty easy to see through the tiny holes in the metal housing. Not a bad thing but worthy of mention.Fixing this to your wall or cabinet is best done with velcro tape or just double sided tape. The keyhole crosses for screw mounting that are stamped into the metal housing are a bit shallow for any screws/screw heads that I had available. Maybe use a flat head nail if you must…but regular screw head just won’t fit such a shallow clearance. Please note that the latches on all your ethernet connectors point down to the bottom of the chassis on this device! If you want to unplug a cable, you can’t depress the latch to release it from its socket without dismounting the switch from the mounting surface. In actual use, this switch performs very well. I have 6 IP cameras connected to it from our shop and can now run 1 single ethernet cable back to the rack mounted switch in our office – a tremendous reduction in cable clutter…and there’s still one spare ethernet port on this switch to connect a PC!Overall, this is a very good utility level switch that is made well (nice metal housing) and it has performed VERY well for our surveillance cameras on a 24/7 basis. It’s a very nice, albeit simple switch. Two thumbs up ð

MokerLink 8 Port Gigabit Unmanaged Ethernet Switch
This is awesome! No need to be a I.T. technician to install this gigabit 8 port router. Its literally just plug and play.I am using it iny living room home theater gear.I used to have to plug my high speed Ethernet cable to each source as needed and that is a hassle since I’m disabled and it’s hard for me to get behind the gear, now I have my large TV,av processesor, PlayStation,Roku box,blu ray player and the wireless doorbell station plugged into and have space for more if needed. It works great, after plugging in all my sources I power up the box and voila…!!It works! It a must have in my opinion and the price is right.

Comparable to TP-Link Un-managed Switches – Easy and Sturdy
This 8-port unmanaged switch has a good, hefty, sturdy build quality and is generally comparable to a similar grade TP-Link unmanaged switch.I replaced one of my 5-port (TP-Link) switches with this 8-port one and it seamlessly associated with my network and worked as advertised.A good, simple-to-use plug and play switch for those who don’t want to or can’t manage a complicated home network.Beyond pleased with this switch.

I’ve got a handful of Mokerlink unmanaged switches, and they have been good for me. So I figure I’d try the managed one now. Unless my item is defective, the unit factory defaults every time the switch is unplugged from power. So unless you never plan to unplug this switch, it probably works well enough. But for me, it’s a non-starter
