Monoprice Cat6 fixed length network cables are the perfect combination of value and performance. Available in a large assortment of colors and lengths, we have a cable to fit every situation. Each cable is made of 24AWG stranded pure copper conductor pairs with 50micrometer gold plated contacts (short body). Most budget cables skimp with only 10micrometer.Each cable features color matched, snag less, strain relief boots. Monoprice Cat5e and Cat6 cables are made of 100% bare copper wire, as opposed to copper clad aluminum (CCA) wire, and are therefore fully compliant with UL Code 444 and National Electrical Code TIA-568-C.2 fire and safety standards, which require pure bare copper wire in Cat5e and Cat6 communications cables.

Customers say
Customers appreciate the quality, functionality, and value of the electronic cable. They mention it’s sturdier than most budget cables, works great for hooking up a router, and is worth the upgrade. Customers are also satisfied with the speed. However, some customers have reported that the cable is very hard to remove once it’d been plugged in. Opinions are mixed on the length, connectivity, and design.

Cable is just right
The cable came fast and is made of decent quality for the price. It works great for what I needed it for. I recommend it for wifi use and simple things it works great for hooking a router up. It fits nice in place. The Appearance is nice as it came in a nice bag. Installing it was easy it just plugs right in. The weight is probably about 1ounce

Cat 6 Ethernet cable .. works well for permanent installation .. beware of the plug .. read on ..
This Cat 6 Ethernet cable is of good quality and rated for “in wall”, installation. I used it to run a permanent wire in the ceiling to a media room. It feeds an Amazon Fire Stick 4K and works well. The tabs on the plug are strong and covered under rubber boots. In my case, where I do not plug and unplug the cable with use, that works out great as I never have to worry about the cable coming loose. Unplugging it can be a bit of a challenge going “bare hands”. The trick is to use a small flat screw driver that enables you to fully push in the locking tab to release the plug; I think it is the rubber boot that covers the release tab that limits how far in you can push the tab making it seem impossible to unplug. If you have a need to frequently unplug the Ethernet cable then perhaps you may want to consider a different cable to avoid potential frustration; perhaps a cable without the rubber boot or one with a softer rubber boot. If you are using it for a more permanent setup where you do not unplug it after installing then this is a great value and it works well. Giving 5 stars for permanent use application which is my experience. For frequent unplug need, I would rate it 4 stars because of the rubber boot on the plug making it difficult to unplug; use of a small flat screw driver does help.

Difficult to unplug.
Difficult to remove. The cover over the push down clip is just totally in the way. And even when I am pushing all the way down on the clip itâs still difficult to remove. Itâs almost stuck and have to use quite a bit of force to pull it out. Normally this wouldnât an issue. But itâs for something I will be plugging and unplugging constantly. Plug in is easy.

For Travel
I needed a short cable for occasional use when traveling, something I can leave in my luggage all the time. I am using it with a travel router.

Stopped Working & Gets STUCK
After realizing the need for a longer cable, I ordered a 20-foot one. I connected it from my WiFi extender to my PC, but unfortunately, it functioned for just over 10 minutes. I meticulously checked all my settings, both on my computer and router, but the issue turned out to be the cable itself. (My spare cables worked perfectly.) I attempted to remove it from the WiFi extender, but due to its unusual shape, it became jammed. It required a substantial amount of force to dislodge it, a situation I’ve never encountered with previous cables. I’m puzzled as to why it was so difficult to remove because, even though my WiFi extender is designed for Cat5e, it’s compatible with Cat6 cables, and Cat6 is backwards compatible. In the end, I had to request a return, and they processed the refund without any hassle, which was a relief. It’s possible that I simply received a defective unit because, aside from the removal issue, this cable offers great value with its durable and robust build. Many other reviewers appear to have had success getting it to work too. However, the shape causing it to get stuck and the initial connection problems were of course problematic.

And slowly, the cabling nest gets simplified. You don’t need these short jumpers but really it cleans up your cabling alot.

Was super cheap when I picked it up, never had any connection issues and I get the full gigabit bandwidth on my computer. The wire was dragged thru two stories worth of insulation to get to my computer and the covering was well built enough to survive through it all.
