Works – Should be a accessory Amazon sells
Works as advertised. Makes the Echo Hub look like a professional installation. It should be an accessory that amazon brands and sells, though it should not be included with very purchase as it is extra cost that many would not need if they don’t require PoE. That said, this is very pricy for what it is – $50 is what makes sense. Anyway, the unit is larger than expected as several have said. But if you use a low voltage, not high voltage, single gang that doesn’t have a back it doesn’t matter – it just sits in the wall.

Works without issue as a PoE converter for Hub. Just need to deal with the bulk and flashing lights.
This USB-C to PoE Converter just works (with my Echo Hub).As a complete novice to this PoE experiment, I was surprised at how plug-and-play this aspect was.Note that, for this to work, I have to plug the converterâs USB-C input into the power port on the back of the Hub. Then I used a Cat 6a Ethernet Cable to plug in the other end of the converterâand the other end of the Ethernet cable is plugged into a port in my PoE network switch. One could swap out a network switch for an injector, but note that you still need to have some PoE injection as this converter doesnât âcreateâ powerâ¦it merely can handle the power and data coming from an Ethernet cable that already is transferring appropriate power and data.(Note: My PoE Ethernet switch is plugged into a power outlet AND has another Ethernet cable running from the switch to my routerâso thatâs how I end up injecting power and data into the stream).Back to the converter itself: it is, as others have noted, quite large. If itâs wall mounted, it might need a larger box or space to hide it.If you arenât wall-mounting wellâ¦you may run into other issues.First: this thing is constantly blinking orange (to show data transmission) and has a solid green light (to show power). Itâs the same lights that appear in many network switches, but not something that can be turned off.Second: it has a nice braided cable (the USB-C part)â¦but itâs too thick to work with the cable management grooves on the back of the Hub. So this means that I could not get it to work with the official Sanus tilting stand and also limits where I can place this device since it canât sit flush with a support (because the cable needs to bend outwards, towards the back, away from the Hub). And yetâ¦it does still work as a PoE injector for the Hub which is precisely why I got it.So I hope this is helpful for your needs!

Some Functional Issues and Risks
It does not say what power delivery profiles it offers, so it’s your risk as to whether it will work with your device. In testing we found it failed to reconnect ethernet data after rebooting or updating an iPad. You have to disconnect the USB-C cable and reconnect it.It also violates US patent 11,627,004. We support protecting US companys’ intellectual property.

Bigger than it looks like
Was looking for a PoE adapter to power the new echo hub! This thing does the trick NO OTHER PoE adapters will power the echo hub even if it meets the specifications required for power! Donât know if Amazon made some type of inside deal with this brand/manufacturer but at least it works. You will be hard pressed on finding ANYTHING ELSE to power the hub Iâve bought like 6-7 adapters none of them work!Side note: This thing is A LOT bigger than it looks in the pictures it definitely will not fit inside of a gang box.

Amazon Echo Hub PoE Perfection
This device simply works! I thought about taking the chance with another model because you will be paying a premium for this Converter. However you get what you pay for as it works great supplying Power and wired ethernet connection to my Echo Hub.

Very convenient
Doesn’t fit in a double gang extra deep junction box without modifications to the box. Good quality but overpriced.

Wonât fit in a single gang box for mounting Echo Hub
Product works with the Echo Hub flawlessly but see the video- it wonât fit in a single gang box.
