Excellent landscape lighting system – easy to install!
I bought these Philips Hue lights for my front yard since itâs very small (I only need 4 lights) and I wanted to do it myself (so it had to be easy). This product fit the bill perfectly! It was very easy to install – no need to add a transformer since itâs already included in this power supply. In addition to the power supply, I bought one Calla outdoor pathway light, three Lily XL outdoor spotlights, three cable extensions, and a Hue bridge. I am very pleased with the results. I was concerned that the light cast from the Lily XL spotlights would be too wide (I wanted to regular spotlights but they were sold out) but I find that these spotlights cast a lovely soft glow into a large tree and softly frame my front windows to accent the architecture of my home. I have an Echo Dot which can be used in lieu of the Hue bridge but opted to buy the bridge instead since I do not use my Echo Dot all the time. Set up was very simple. I downloaded the app and itâs easy to change light colors and routines. These lights are a little expensive compared to other landscape lighting options but Philips Hue landscape lighting was a better option for me since I didnât need that many lights. If I had a large yard and needed more lights or knew Iâd never want to change the light colors, it might make more sense for me to get other landscape lights. But this was a perfect option for me! Itâs rained several times since I installed these lights and itâs been below freezing at night. No issues so far.

Excellent product-good security
I use this to control my outside Hue lights. With this device it is simple to have the lights turn on when it detects movement. The app allows me to set very detailed areas that it will detect movement, time lights will remain on, and action on/off times. Truly an excellent product. No complaints. Recommended!

The new version is more sensitive than the old model
I have three of the older model HUE motion detectors. The older model has a screw in each corner of the back of the unit. This is what holds the rear cover on. This new model has one screw in the center of the back. The new model is a big improvement.I bought this new sensor to work in a zone with one of my existing sensors. But because this new sensor has such a better range, I don’t need the older one. I guess I’ll keep it as a spare. The older model has a range of about 20 ft from the sides and 30 ft head on. This new model is about 30 ft on the sides and about 60 ft head on.I use Hubitat for home automation. All of my sensors connect directly to the Hubitat hub. You don’t need the Hue hub for these sensors. I do have a Hue hub and the only thing I use it for is the one remaining Hue bulb that I have. One last thing on batteries, don’t use rechargeable batteries. It states that in the manual. I have noticed that the range of these Hue sensors drops when the battery voltages gets down to about 1.4v. New, AA batteries are about 1.55v. I generally get about a year out of my batteries before I have to replace them. Getting the rear cover off can be tricky. This year I put silicone grease on the rubber seal. Hopefully that will make the covers easier to get off in the future.

Expensive, Highly Sensitive, Built for the Outdoors.
I have been using an indoor motion sensor under an eave to provide motion lighting at my front door. It worked well down to 20’F, but any time humidity levels were high it went a little crazy, randomly triggering almost continually. I was glad to find this outdoor device compatible with my Hubitat Hub, but was a bit taken aback by the price, but, I needed it, as late Fall was here and the other sensor was starting to have problems. When I opened the box, it definitely seemed that this Philips Hue unit was built for the weather, as it is chunky and robust. I wanted to take the back off to see how the batteries were replaced (I do not rate the pictorial instruction very high in this regard), and it was stuck on. I eventually got it off without causing considerable damage. The batteries test full.Configuring it with my Hubitat C-7 Hub was a piece of cake, and the device configuration panel was well populated with fields to adjust the operation of the sensor. Installation on the wall in the same place as the prior unit was also easy with the provided flat wall mount & hardware, and the included corner mount was a nice touch. Philips does try to give you your money’s worth! It is Fall, and leaves are moving, and this thing was triggering like crazy! Eventually, the Motion Sensitivity was reduced all the way to Low, with still many triggers. The routine to trigger the Front Light was eventually changed to activate only if the sensor was active for longer than 10 seconds, while the sensors Motion Retrigger interval was changed to 10 seconds. That provided a better night time solution, but it seems to trigger when there are no leaves moving, so bugs must be moving (or traffic on the street trigger it +100′ away). On Low Sensitivity, the light awakens when our car is half-way down the drive, so this sensor does seems to reach out very far.Hopefully, it provides durable operation through our NEOhio winter weather. Hopefully sleet & snow don’t trigger it!!!

Very nice
I have my backyard lit up with these… have had them just before the covid lock down so I was ready….have had to replace them at least once as sometimes the lines burn out…the company was good at working with me. Now that I am out of warranty I keep having flood lights that just start flickering …..hub is where it needs to be and all….seems like another fault…can anyone help me out?
