For all your printing needs, you can have a laser printer, or a inkjet one. And then there is the trusty old thermal printer. For most jobs that is all you need. And add to that the absolute lack of the need for refilling ink, at, what can be exorbitant costs for some printers, and you have a winner. Simple caveat is that you have to buy thermal paper, but that is one purchase replenishment, rather than thinking about paper and ink all the time with regular printers. And if you buy decent quality thermal paper, you will get comparable, if not better quality printouts than your regular printers. Add to that the size, portability, the BT connectivity, and you have a printer that does it all without the cumbersome need to refill, or to worry about ink drying out on you. Overall, an above average product that does the job well. This review is for the â Phomemo Portable Printers Wireless for Travel, M833 Bluetooth Thermal Printer Compatible with Phone & Laptop,Support 8.5” x 11” US Letter & A4, 300Dpi Inkless Mobile Printer for Office, Home, SchoolPhomemo Portable Printers Wireless for Travel, M833 Bluetooth Thermal Printer Compatible with Phone & Laptop,Support 8.5” x 11” US Letter & A4, 300Dpi Inkless Mobile Printer for Office, Home, Schoolâ.

After downloading the driver from the website specified in the manual, it connected to my computer via USB cable. I went to printer settings and printed a test page. No problems. When I installed the drivers, it gave me a choice between USB and WiFi. I first tried USB as that is what the manual recommended. But I then tried to install via WiFi. Although it is recognized and comes up as a WiFi printer, it did not print. I didn’t spend any time seeing if I could resolve that problem as it was just a curiosity. Printing via USB proves that the printer does work with a computer and that is all I wanted to test.I have not tried connecting to my phone as there is nothing on my phone to be printed. And I don’t have a tablet so I can’t try that method. Therefore, this review is based entirely on its ability to print via computer. It comes with a roll of 8.5-inch paper. Since I don’t have any thermal paper of a smaller size, I could not try that, but the description claims it can print on paper as narrow as 2 inches.I had no negative issues with this printer. It worked well and the print out was clear. I give this printer a 5-star rating for use with a computer.

The product arrived in good time after ordering it and was packaged accordingly to ensure no damage during shipping. The build quality is good and this printer does function very well for travel with it’s compact size. The app is easy to install using the picture on the top side of the printer for phones and tablets and the instructions included for a desktop or laptop are also very straight-forward. I had no issues getting this device to work with all the supported devices and the print quality is good.I am happy with the quality of the hardware and how well it prints for a thermal printer. The only thing I I would like to see improved about this printer is better software for PCs and laptops for printer sharing. With how the software currently works, it has to be directly connected through a USB cord to the specific PC and cannot be setup through Bluetooth or printer sharing for PC and laptop cases. Because it is portable, that is not a big issue, but it would be nice to have the option to not need to move it from PC to PC when being used at home or in the office. I give it a 4.5 and rounded up as this is a great printer for mobile purposes and it prints very well.

This is a portable printer that you can easily carry in your backpack and weighs about the same as a laptop. I bought the portable printer to bring with me when I travel, and I wanted mainly to print files from my iPad or my iPhone. What I like about the printer is that the setup is quick, it prints relatively quietly, it prints quickly and it is easy to use. You can upload documents to your iPhone file folder and print PDF, MS Word, Excel or you can print documents in WhatsApp, Line, Skype, Kakao, Talk, and Gmail. You can also export supported files from other apps. The printer app offer options to print from the web (from Pinterest, Google, wiki, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit, Quora), print images and you can scan. The scanning function simply takes a photo but it does recognize the edges of a document and alters the contrast appropriately. The printer app is called Phomemo and it is easy to use. In the app profile you find a list of options such as:⢠Use Tutorial where I didnât find any information.⢠Product Manual that shows a user guide with a little bit more details than the quick start guide included with the printer.⢠FAQ where I didnât find any information.⢠Support that lists an email address, a phone number to communicate through WhatsApp and a Skype account.⢠Feedback that allows you to write feedback and submit it.⢠Live chat was offline when I tried perhaps because of the time difference.⢠Settings where you can select the model, language, privacy policy and agreement.⢠Also, it gives you options to join the social media community: Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. You can join the Facebook group which is a private group. There are pictures in Instagram of different printer models and in YouTube I saw a promotional video. When printing a document, you can setup how many copies, what page(s) you want to print and the orientation (vertical or horizontal). The print settings donât give you an option for a type of font. Instead it gives you three options for font thickness: light, medium, heavy. The printer came with two cables: one with a USB-C/USB-A connectors, the other a convertor cable for those people who have USB-A to USB-A cable, so they can connect to the USB-C port on the printer. The printer also came with a paper copy quick guide, sample paper, and it came in a cloth bag. There is no power supply cable since you can charge the printer using the USB-C/USB-A cable with a power supply connector like the one you use to charge your iPhone. The print quality is quite good. I printed a very finally detailed map and you can see all the detail on the printout. See the photo attached to this review. The printer will also connect directly to a PC but I did not test this functionality. My use-case for this printer is to take it when I travel. One thing I should note with thermal paper is that the paper will turn black if exposed to high temperatures. However, the temperatures donât need to be all that high. As a test, I preheated a small oven to just 140 F and I put in a page I had previously printed. After just 30 seconds, the entire page was black. So be sure to never leave your printer with paper in a hot car which could easily reach that temperature or higher. This is not to say anything negative about this particular printer, it is just the nature of thermal paper. The other attribute of the paper (at least when purchased in a roll) is that it tends to curl up after being printed.Overall, I like the printer, my only comment is that the options in the app that are empty should be completed with information otherwise they should remove them.

Try lugging around an inkjet printer and then you’ll appreciate this thermal printer. It needs thermal paper and the output does curl but the form factor is as small as you can possibly get. Printing is easy by bluetooth or USBC using the phone app or a pc/mac. Print quality is good and reasonably fast. Hard to beat for on the go printing.
