Probably going to get a second one, BUT…
I’ve had this monitor for almost 2 months now. It replaced a 27″ flat screen which (I didn’t realize until I made the change) was washing out the colors. It’s important for you to know that for this review. After all, you jump from a 1997 car to a 2022 car, you’re obviously going to be amazed, right? My old computer died and I had to build a new computer. I figured while I was about it, I should get a sexy new monitor with it. One of my friends was going on, and on, and on, and onnnnnnn about how he was going to get a curved monitor, which I hadn’t even heard about before. Well, new computer, worth searching ‘curved monitor’, and here I am.I have a Radeon RX 6600 XT GPU. Don’t scoff, I know it’s not cutting or bleeding edge. I build my computers for affordability, and upgradeability. That USD $900 GPU card you’re trying to hijack Amazon drivers for today will be dirt cheap relatively soon. That said, almost everything I’ve put this monitor through has been amazing:Colors: Again, the old monitor was apparently washed out, but seriously vibrant colors, black is suuuuuuuper black.Resolution: Hit or miss. Sometimes content I’m streaming has black bars to the left and right. Sometimes I can’t go full screen because it just zooms in on whatever portion of the screen it feels like. Maybe it’s the graphics card, I don’t know. However, every video game I’ve played has been truly full screen so far. Civ 6, Killing Floor, World of Tanks, Fallout 4. Though I don’t use this for work, the monitor has worked amazingly for Word and Excel.Sturdiness: This monitor is sitting on my desktop. Once, I bumped heavily into the desk and freaked out that the monitor would tumble off the back of it (no wall behind the desk). It didn’t. The base is a sturdy metal, but it’s a ring. I don’t know if it would make a difference if it were solid, I think it would make a difference if that ring/ base went further behind the monitor than it does, but I don’t detract a star for my clumsiness. I will instead find some way of securing the front of that ring to my desk, preferably without having to screw into the desk surface, but that option is not ruled out.Price: I remember paying this much for my first, I think it was 20″, flat screen. Not only am I happy about the price, I’m starting to give serious consideration to getting a second one of these monitors (and possibly having to secure them using screws, ugh).Overall: Zero regrets. Perhaps I don’t have the refined eyes of the many nay-sayers in these reviews. But it’s amazing for gaming, it’s excellent for streaming, and there are no issues with Word or Excel. Everything I need, in a very reasonably priced package!

Best overall Monitor, not the best for gaming
Great ‘do it all” monitor with a lot of real state for regular office use. The quality on fast refresh rate is no the best, so gaming is probably out. For everything else, it is great for the price and size.

Spectre 305W-2560UN Gaming Monitor. 21:9 is only 12 inches high. Best suited for Gaming.
Overall, it seems like a good Monitor; didn’t rate for gaming, bought it for wide view home office. Picture looks good, VESA mount is attached to back of monitor with a single screw. Clever design as the four 75mm spaced Spectre mounting plate screws attaches to your Monitor stand VESA mounting plate and the whole shebang is attached with only a single screw to the monitor itself; one screw easier to attach than 4 screws. Not a problem if once in place you don’t change monitor position. For sit, stand, sit, stand, the monitor may feel somewhat less than 100% solid. The single screw is plenty strong enough, it won’t break or come apart. You’d have to see for yourself how that’s accomplished. This is not a deal breaker, the monitor is fairly light at 9 lbs. For most, not an issue at all. Though noticeable, wasn’t a big deal for me. My lone complaint, (this type of thing is so common, i.e. product ads leave out important detailed information. Should go to Manufacture website and download Manual before purchase). In this case, the Monitor is supposedly rated as being 16 inches high. I bought it based on that measurement. Wide-view at 21:9 is purpose-built for gaming. Monitor is actually only 12 inches high.16 inches height is including the stand, not mentioned on the Web Page! At 12 inches of 1080p vertical, some of my old 2012 Mac Mini software does not auto adjust the picture. works with 3:4 ratio, or 16:9. HDMI 1.4 should work, but Mini does not like 21:9. Too much screen real estate submerged below bottom of screen. You can scroll up and down, but picture is too big: Monitor too short — either way, take your pick. Macs and most PC’s no problem. The only way to tell is buy to try. For most, for gaming, not a problem. My opinion–For Home Office a 27 inch 2K 16:9 – 2560×1440. A 32 inch 2K, even regular 27 or 32 inch 1080p Monitor dimensionally better suited for home use. Other reviewers have rated it for gaming. If purchasing for gaming, lots of reviews. For Home Office, you may want to carefully consider all the relevant factors in making a decision depending on hardware and application. Monitor arrived well packaged and works like it was designed to work. I am returning the Monitor for reason stated above – Low height exacerbated by 21:9 aspect ratio. What would be ideal for me is 30 inch 2K monitor, but 2K only 27 or 32 inch. F.Y.I., you should always keep the original packaging, at least until return window is passed – maybe longer. While unpacking, I take special notice of how packaging is all put together so I can return exactly as It came to facilitate a smooth no-hassel Return.

May return. UPDATE RETURNING. Display Port Failure
UPDATE: 3/16I will be returning. Worked fine and now I am unable to use it. The monitor comes on but says no input detected. Tried a different display port and the same issue. SMH. have only had for 101 days.Works with my MacBook. When using hdmi change the resolution to 1920 by 1080 or the screen will stay black.I purchased a dock with DisplayPort and connected it that way. I was able to use the full resolution, but the screen kept freezing and lagging. (Itâs an Apple problem) I went to my settings and changed the display to scaled, then to 1920 X 1080, saved the settings then back to the âDefault by Displayâ and that solved my problem. Big enough to have 2 full size windows open.Text is super clear. 60hz with hdmi, 100hz with DisplayPort. The colors are awful. I didnât expect much, but I also didnât expect the blacks to be washed out.I donât use it for gaming but I went to Amazon Prime games to redeem a game for my son, never downloaded or played it, but for some reason on that page my screen was flickering and there isnât even any movement on the page I was on. (That was at 100 hz)Iâd recommend a different monitor if any of the above is important to you. Iâm mainly use it for typing, videos, and programming. All of which I have no problems with. Based on my experience with the flickering, I donât know how well it would work for gaming.

Very good monitor, colors are pretty close to my MSI main display and the bezels are quite thin making it good for multi monitor setups. I use it in the portrait orientation. Speakers are really bad, so I have them disabled in windows.
