Arrived like NEW: Jedi-Audiophile mind trick excellence.
Stereo imaging champion. Sennheiser intimate sound, like sitting in a studio, with additional soundstage. Great detail, clarity. Tabbed as reference analytical, but the warmth and bass extension contradict this. It is flat but almost too musical and dynamic to be boring flat. THERE IS BASS AND BASS EXTENSION- perfectly blended and tuned. At the very least, a good dac/amp does this headphone justice. For me, Monoprice Monolith USB dac/amp, HELM Bolt, THX Onyx. The Monoprice is so underrated and overlooked, but the 560 loves it and it loves back. The build quality is good, it looks great, and the cable is long but good in getting the perfect sound with an included dongle. So, I have the long cable, the included dongle, the dac/amp and the dac android adapter. Several couplings. After all that, who cares? Almost a perfect headphone!! Jedi-Audiophile magic. Combines the best qualities of many headphones into one device. Plays with your mind because it is so great and versatile. Be aware that this is an intimate experience overall, not really focused on horizontal and vertically big sound. More refined, rather than raw vibrancy and big. Jaw dropping and FUN for long listening.

Great sound with great feel
I spent ~$100 on these refurbished a little while ago. They were also my first open-back headphones and let me tell you, they are awesome. The first pair I have ever thought “I don’t *need* to EQ this.” The audio is great for all the music genres that I listen to. The spacial audio for competitive gaming (I play R6 and CSGO) is also great so long as you are in a quiet room as the “open-back” is very open; I can hear everything in my room almost perfectly clearly with these still on. They are also so comfortable that I forget they are even on sometimes. The felt-like ear pads grab up dust and hair so they need to be cleaned every so often (or they look dirty) but *boy* are they comfortable.Even though I paid $100, I would be willing to pay $150-175 for them in a heartbeat.

Awesome all arounder for music listening, production, and gaming
This headphone I admittedly got both on sale and renewed, so came in at a much lower price than usually listed, and better than the headphones I had to compare it against. Those were the Beyerdynamic 900 Pro X headphones. Both sets were great, but for the price I got these at, it seemed a much better investment. The penny-pinching, situational benefit aside, these are great for considering at full price. While the Pro X may have had a little more “oomph” and some folks may prefer that, I actually quite favor the flatness/neutrality of these Sennheisers (and if you want to mess with things, certainly one can go add more bass, etc. with equalizer tools and such). My main goal was to get a great open-back for eventual music mixing, and these look like they will do the job great. I enjoy listening to music with them and catching nuances I hadn’t heard before with lesser headphones. I admit I don’t appreciate an especially big “soundscape”…but I don’t seem to pick that up on the other open-backs I tried either, so maybe that is just my own limited perception. That being said, I note different instrument placements enough that I can see the benefit for use in mixing music and again, they really do just sound really good to me either way you slice it either for music analysis, music enjoyment, or even for gaming. If I don’t recognize a notable soundscape for music generally, I certainly am able to place sounds within a game very well with these headphones. Very much impressed and pleased with the purchase. Go get some.

Sound Range is Good
The refurbished HD 560S I received was in great condition. I got them when there was an extra discount sale. I first thought maybe they are getting rid of the worst of them, but as you can see I went for the deal. So far they are better than expected. The first time I put them on for awhile – it was gripping my head almost too tight, but after using them a few times for about a week – they were more comfortable. The HD 560S have an expansive frequency range for listening to different styles of music. I took them for a spin listening to different kinds of music: dance, rock/metal, hip-hop, funk, …,etc. and all sounded good. On the go I still will use a closed back type of headset. I mainly got these to replace a closed back headset – the headband broke. I use them for when playing and tracking DI guitars, so my audio box has a pro-headset driver that can handle any high or low impedance headphones. In my DI guitar set-up the tone sounds better or more accurate tonality with HD 560S (particularly when using distortion modeling plugins / amp effects). Yet, I do notice there is a little more low-end or low-mid end making it sound little muddy (but not too bad) compared to DT-990 Pro. An EQ cut can address that, and that is with a single instrument and not in the full mix. That’s just a noticeable difference when I compared it to DT-990 Pro headset. HD 560s has a long cable and not coiled (DT-990’s is coiled) and I prefer non-coil type of cable. Both (HD 560S & DT-990 Pro) don’t allow the cable to be detached. Most other headsets I’ve had allow the cable to be detached. I like the option to detach the cable for less strain on the connection when packing it if traveling with them. I probably won’t travel with them anyway: they don’t fold, open-back, cable not detachable, and it does not come with a little travel bag. Therefore, HD 560S are not intended to be traveling headsets. Traveling with them is not the reason I got these HD 560S headsets.Overall these are a good sounding open-back headphones. If looking for a good pair of open-back headsets at refurbished prices, then give these a try – even if you go with brand new and not refurbished, yet the refurbished I received was in great condition – and looked new.

Got the “Renewed” (refurbished). Some light marking. Fits snug (I have a slightly bigger head) but not uncomfortable in my short listening period. Audio quality is good. Only gripe is the “6.3mm to 3.5mm flexible adapter” is missing. Contacted the seller, waiting on response.

On seller’s site product adv. as: Condition: NEW. Item received was refurbished. Seller argues that it is also described as a “RENWED” item. Thought it was a newer or improved model. In fact it is “refurbished”. The worst part is that the sound was horrible, muffled, no bass, no treble exactly the contrary to all comments I have read. Item returned & credited. Sennheiser will loose their credibility with this US distributor.Ghaber
