Living room turned home theater
I love this sound bar. I have it hooked up to a Sony tv using an HDMI ARC cable and the compatibility is amazing. One of the things I looked for in a sound bar is clear audios, especially for movies that the music overpowers the dialogue. There are times where it feels like the sound is a little cheap but I want to blame that more on what Iâm watching/playing. Otherwise, the sound is so crisp my neighbors could watch my TV from my window and still hear everything if I have it loud enough. Iâve only had an issue with connectivity once but it was an easy fix once you get to know the system; a short nuisance if anything. I barely use the remote control since I control everything from my TV remote, but I do find it nice that I can use the sound bar remote to adjust the bass. I did get the speaker on sale, but I feel like itâs been worth every penny so far.

Good value for the peformance. Good Bass
This was easy to install on my Sony TV. The sound bar and bass makes huge difference compared to the built in sound of Sony TV. Excellent value for the performance and bass.

Good sound bar. No HDMI Included?
It’s a good product. The sub woofer paired to the sound bar automatically and it is a game changer compared to stock TV speakers. I was surprised the package includes batteries for the remote, but no HDMI cable. You get an optical cable instead. You should get an HDMI ARC cable for this setup.Extra software features such as Night, Voice, and Sound Field modes offer different listening experiences which could be interesting.

Impressed
I am not a hifi enthusiast but I am very pleased with my soundbar and subwoofer. Sounds really good. Pretty easy to set up. Very easy to control. I use it directly wired to the television and I have it connected to my phone and my computer by Bluetooth. It seems to know what I am using and the remote allows me to toggle from TV to Bluetooth. The subwoofer is powerful. For the sale price it was an excellent buy.

Excellent Value with Volume Level Display
I bought this bar for my parents who have an LG OLED CX TV that wonât properly display the volume level when using any soundbar it seems. With this soundbar the LG TV still doesnât display the volume but at least it can be referenced on the Sony soundbar to solve the problem. The drawback is that the soundbar always says âTVâ and I wish it would just be shut off after a minute. Also this soundbar isnât DTS:X or Dolby Atmos compatible but it has Sony Surround at least. Also the remote is pretty basic but itâs perfect for my parents who arenât enthusiastic to learn to use new technology. I think Sony soundbars are underrated for the most part and I would recommend this for the price, especially at the Amazon warehouse price I paid!

Doesnât even work right with a Sony TV
It would be difficult to describe every thing that I dislike about the sound bar. First, mounting it under a 42 inch top-of-the-line Sony TV is really sloppy because it has only two keyholes for mounting. So it really canât be mounted level or flush, but just kinda hangs there from the keyholes that are there. This of course creates a gap of light underneath your sleek TV and sound bar.Secondly, it is infuriating trying to actually get the TV program to match with the Sony sound bar using the Sony TV. Itâs constantly switching back-and-forth between TV speakers and the HDMI sound bar speakers. Of course you can shut everything down, which is easy if everything is hooked up to the same surge protector, and restart everything. Then for a short period of time the TV and the sound bar sound will work together. But thatâs just for a little while. Maybe within an hour, maybe the same day or certainly by the next day you gotta go through the whole sequence again to get things to sync . And then when the TV and speaker do come on together and you switch channels, well then then all is lost. This is just an absolute piece of junk.

HT S400 Sound Bar
I like the fact the unit was easy to set up and it doesn’t sprawl everywhere in my limited space. Sound was much better than I expected and I don’t need two remotes unless I need to change unit settings. All in all I am very happy with it

La Sound Bar se escucha genial. Tiene control de volumen general, y otro especÃficamente para el bajo (para quienes nos gusta que retumbe). En mi opinion fue buena la relación calidad precio y si lo recomiendo.

It’s an excellent sound system with Sony’s crisp clear sound quality and high quality built and materials. While it’s not a full theater sound system and does not provide a full theater surround system experience, it still is a huge step up from the TV speakers. It doesn’t give a huge “wow” factor but it does a great job providing a crisp clear sound. The bass is not over bloated and is smooth, which is great for watching the movies. It’s ok for listening to the music but it’s not what it is designed for.The TV used to pair this soundbar with is Sony Bravia XR X90K. I tried to use Bluetooth connection, which was immediately recognized by both devices and the sound quality was good with no delays or whatsoever. Also, tried with an 8K UHD ARC HDMI certified high quality cable through an eARC port on TV. The TV immediately recognized that there is a Sony Soundbar connected and offered to complete a setup. The bass lines do sound slightly crispier through the cable but the difference between BT and HDMI is hardly any noticeable.
