Excellent kit, but things to know
The kit quality is excellent, but a couple of things you should know.First, youâll lose the 10 tables that are installed on your original PCB, because this kit replaces that. You can find the same tables (although different versions of them) for sale to download, but youâll be paying for them again.Second, youâll obviously be using the various pinball games available on your Nintendo Switch, which you will need to already own, or purchase one separately (again, more money paid.)Third, since itâs those games youâre playing, the angle of the tables will no longer look as though they are an actual playfield due to the fact that games like Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX3 have a dynamic camera that flies around the virtual table, and shows the outside of the table itself on the screen. So the illusion that youâre playing a real pinball machine is lost.Fourth, Iâve seen many of the Arcade1up pinball tables come with a 12v/3A power supply. This may work for the original PCB, but with this new setup, you will need to ensure that you use a minimum 12v/5A power supply. If not, every time your solenoids fire, the entire setup will switch off due to the current draw being too high and the power supply going into a shutdown protection mode.Aside from that, the kit is put together very well with what appear to be good quality components. Not top of the line, but good. The provided instructions can a bit confusing at times, but between those and the instructional videos you can find on YouTube about how to set everything up, itâs pretty simple.I would also suggest using some stand-offs to remount the new PCBâs without the cases to the body of the table as opposed to the back of the monitor for better air circulation. But that requires adding a wire to attach the ground to the monitor and getting an LVDS cable extension for the monitor so you can open and close the monitor frame without issues. In closing, now that the kit is just under $90, itâs well worth the price, IMO.Btw, there are a lot of Facebook and Reddit groups for Arcade1up mods that you can join if you need help with the kit install. Have fun!

Easy install, one issue
Very easy to install, I did mount mine at the front though, getting to the back of the machine would be a pain, 1 issue is the lack of a launch button on some tables. I have to use a pro controller, very inconvenient.

Great product for your Arcade1up pinball machine
I purchased this item after my Arcade1up Attack from Mars machine stopped working. I considred replacing the Main PCBA. However, the complete replacement parts from Arcade1up was $109 plus tax and shipping. The mod only cost me $89. The installation was very easy it took me about 45 minutes, and this is because Arcade1up had glued all the connections. Make sure you utilze an exacto knife to remove the glue. For the installation I followed TOYKADE on Youtbe. TOYKADE made the installation very easy. The pinball tables look great, better than the Arcade1up. Highly recommend moding your Arcade1up with this controller.

Works but it doesn’t fit
We will have to shave this board down in order to get it to fit. Installation instructions were hard to follow because our starwars machine had differences than what was depicted in the diagrams. We got it up and running we just wish it had fit.

Great!
Overall it’s a great replacement for the very flaky built in motherboard shipped by arcade1up.The most popular Youtube review of this product indicated you would want a HDMI splitter, but that is included in the shipping version of this device.I’m loving playing Zen Pinball FX and Ikaruga on my “Williams” pinball table.

You’re doing good shipping but little damage package
I were kit the new Nintendo Switch were installed on my Arcade 1up pinball machine but there have left flipper button not work. That not your fault!! they doesn’t building well without testing on board.

OMG, I’m eventually buying another one.
This worked out great ðð¾. The installation are vague and imprecise, caused a lot of back tracking and stress. But it worked out well. Have one issue with the back light staying on because it’s receiving power ð from the USB cord from the switch dock. Still have to figure that out.

Put simply this is a fantastic mod kit that breathes new life into Arcade1Up pinball machines. The design of the cabinets are fantastic but the built in PCB/computer is just too weak. The first real sign of that weakness was the pixelation when running stock games. The A1Up display is a 1080p display but itâs running Android pinball apps at 720p and the text and some design elements were barely legible, a poor experience. This kit now allows me to utilise my Switch to play pinball in native 1080p plus I can run a much larger library of pinball games from Zen Studios.Note:⢠Some purists might not like the fact you lose DMD functionality for scores as the mini DMD display becomes a (mirrored) horizontal nav system for the Switch UI but the fact is you still retain DMD functionality on the main playfield screen and it isnât a big loss.⢠The back solenoids fire randomly and can lessen the experience so I unplugged the back ones and retained front solenoids only and it works so much better that way (I really recommend you only plug in the front solenoids)⢠Itâs a bit of a tricky install experience and is hampered by A1Up glueing cable connectors in place but get yourself a soldering iron and melt the glue carefully and itâs a lot easier⢠Pinball FX3 and Star Wars pinball are AMAZING but the newer Pinball FX app has rubbish graphics in comparison so awaiting an update to their visuals to really complete the all round experience

Takes longer to install than you might think, no because itâs difficult but because the instruction arenât clear as some claim and arcade1up glue every connector together making it really difficult to remkve the exiting connects on OE boards. The solenoids randomly trigger detracting from the experience and thereâs no solenoid triggering on Pinball FX. Star wars cartridge they trigger, they trigger on pinball fx3 and i havenât tried zacharia app yet but will soon.Itâs nice having access to loads more tables but i wish they sorted out the solenoid triggering better, that and the dmd issue make this a meh score. Inky worth doing if you really must, not worth it if your good with the stock machine or pinner mod.
