The traditional ATARI Arcade Yoke controller back in 1983 used potentiometers to generate control output for the Star war arcade machine. It was made with a combination of complex machining parts and mechanisms. This includes having to use a gear drive mechanism, potentiometers and a complex wiring harness design. The GRS Flight Yoke uses a complete redesigned mechanism, overcoming the limitation of the original design. The GRS design includes the following:
1. Non-contact mechanical structure with magnetic sensing technology to drive the Yoke controller.
2. No gears, no potentiometer. Maximize precision, durability and the stability of the yoke controller.
3. Support new games!! ( Elite dangerous, STAR WARS: SQUADRONS etc.)The GRS Flight Yoke uses the standard USB interface. It will be recognized as gamepad controller on Windows/Linux/Raspberry Pi and can be used in any emulation platform that supports an analog joystick or mouse with 6 independent buttons including the functional buttons. So it’s more than just a yoke controller.
4. Physical Inertia Centering mechanism, a more accurate result and less re-calibration needed for the analog joystick.
5. 2 Buttons + 2 Triggers + 2 Functional Buttons (6 total) are recognized as Independent gamepad controller buttons.
6. Complete metal structure is used(handle grips are made with high strength hardened engineering plastic).
7. Mouse mode: Allow more game flexibility. The GRS Yoke can be used for games that use a mouse over an analog joystick.
8. Vertical direction reverse switching: Allow user to switch the direction of pitch without digging into the input configuration.
9. Arcade1UP Star War Arcade ready. Arcade Quality replacement yoke for your Star War Arcade1UP.
10. Atgame compatibility with external build such as PC/Raspberry PI via OTG
11. Commercial Arcade Compatibility. Potentiometer signal output.
Analog control with 6 physical buttons
Gamepad controller support
Two mouse modes support
Pitch direction reversion
Compatible with Windows, Linux, Mac, Raspberry PI,Arcade1Up,*ALU(Only compatible with external build such as RPI/PC), Original Arcade

Worth the money. One of the best analog joysticks out there.
Installed this yoke controller onto my custom build arcade PC cabinet and the controller worked out of the box using a USB connection. Simple to install and instructions are easy to understand. It can be used as an analog joystick or as a mouse. It also has a power button to power it off if you plan to use other controllers with your gaming rig to avoid hardware conflicts.Word of caution: It is built like a tank and definitely heavier than the average joystick. The construction is top-notch.

An absolutely essential upgrade for the Arcade1up Star Wars Arcade cab!
The stock OEM yoke for the Arcade1up Atari Star Wars Arcade cab is serviceable for what it is but if you really want to experience true arcade style control then GRS has you covered with their arcade quality flight yoke. The difference is literally night and day. Made from all machined metal parts it has the heft of the vintage arcade yoke and the button controls are simply more responsive. Since upgrading my game has improved considerably.Itâs super easy to install. Just remove the stock yoke and wire harness and attach the GRS flight yoke with the 4 included long screws and secure with the included washers and nuts underneath the plate and simply plug in the wire harnesses into their designated areas on the control board. Thatâs it. Easy peasy!Shipped much faster than the expected ship date. It arrived in about a week after ordering. Couldnât be happier with the purchase! Making the upgrade is like making the jump into hyperspace! Yahoo!

Amazing Hardware!
Ok Glenn is a genius! This thing is heavy as an ox . Very sturdy piece of hardware. It was quite a challenge to get this thing fastened on my control desk! But still this thing is amazing! I would definitely recommend it. But perhaps invite a friend to help you fasten it to a control deck!Important note! I originally screwed it flat on my control it is impossible to maneuver in some/most games with it flat, so I had to angle it off the control deck by making a mount out of brackets and poplar wood!

Great Value and Quality
Glen’s GRS flight yoke is an amazing product. Glen is known for his quality arcade products and the flight yoke doesnât disappoint. The quality is a 10/10. The responsiveness and accuracy is a 10/10. He recommended an Atari sticker that I could put on it so it looked just like the Arcade 1up flight yoke. This product is built to mast a lifetime. With how arcade 1up is with their extra parts, I wouldnât hold my breath with them ever making one available. If you want to be assured if the arcade 1up one ever breaks, this is a no brainer. I definitely recommend this product.

Won’t work with my ALU 1.1
I have contacted everyone, yet no one will help me get it to work. Even asked if I needed the box they have to go with it, still no reply. I was sent a replacement and same issue set back. Company Rep won’t contact me.

More solid that the A1Up it replaced
I purchased the Thunderbolt Star Wars yoke to replace the original after noticing some latency issues on the original and watching Retro Recipes on YouTube where he was experiencing similar issues where is how I discovered Thunderbolt. Since replacing the flight yoke I haven’t experienced any latency issues nor drifting and it feels more responsive and is a more solid piece of hardware. I highly recommend this flight yoke

Having loved the Star Wars vector arcade games since the 80s, iâve never quite managed to get the same experience playing MAME versions with an arcade stick. The GRS flight yoke changes that⦠itâs a reassuringly heavy unit, which performs beautifully, to recreate the âarcade feelâ of the original. So much, in fact, that I plan to construct a sit-in cabinet solely for the Star Wars games.USB plug and play allowed me to be playing immediately. Also works with lots of other games – Outrun, Afterburner, Marble Madness, Paperboy – Any game that requires an analogue control.

Bought this for project, quick test analogue axis feel good, the actual buttons (face and triggers) feel pretty bad, triggers feel very cheap/thin with annoying loud click, very slow if needing quick response. The face buttons on each grip are just mini sticks which just push down, poor implementation and just feel weird, should of used regular controller face buttons. This whole controller could do with a complete overhaul, more buttons and better quality buttons, analogue triggers and also needs a POV Hat (more than enough room), I am told by GRS they are working on an add on, but time would tell, should just redesign from group up and should also not pre apply the face sticker but include seperate as optional as its quite ugly and tacky.
