3d printing is so cool
This thing has been the star of the house for the past few weeks. The kids are all over it.We connected it to the network in the house and to an ipad but still cannot send over wifi. havent had time to really figure out why.we found it faster and better to just put the files needed on an SD card. also some files we found on the interwebs require proper slicing and sizing. Using the weedo slicer app on windows is super easy. get the file and size it on the tray the way you want and then slice it into a gcode file that the printer can read. take the sd card back to the printer and you’re good to go .. print it from the menu.now, dont think 3d printing at this price point is super fast… its not. we’ve had some prints take two hours and the longest print we had was a 9 hour print.. the more items you put on the tray …the longer it takes.a few quirks . might be us and our learning curve with it.as you can see, we printed a bunch of things the first day with the filament that came in the box.. come to find out, theres bette filament and our most recent prints are coming out nicer.not sure what happened with the cat, I dont think anyone touched it while printing, but something definetly skewed it a bit.Theres something about the bed where the prints come out that I cannot figure out… thats how to clean the metalic tray. i think this is a by product of taking the prints off while its not cold enough. its hard to clean and im afraid to damage the surface.overall.. awesome entry printer for the pricepoint

Fun and easy to use 3d printer…
I found this 3d printer pretty easy to setup and get started with, though since it was the basic printer package, it doesn’t include the heated bed, Wi-Fi, or the ability to use it with an app over the Internet. But it does print from the SD card just fine. And you COULD print over USB from a computer if you wanted, but why introduce a possible point of failure? It included an 8GB card as well as a USB card reader with a USB-C adapter. I always backup the included memory card that comes with anything, and I found that I was able to use a 16GB SD card with the printer just fine after backing up the pack-in card.It also came with a tiny 100g spool of white PLA, a replacement nozzle and some tools. The included memory card come with a digital manual and some tutorial videos that are worth watching. After unpacking start-up was straight forward if you watched the video and follow the prompts. My first print was a 3d-benchy, which had some issues due to the spool hub having the end of the filament sticking out, causing the hub to drag at times during the filament feed. Cutting that nub off allowed the hub to rotate freely. I also hadn’t set the Z-offset yet, and once that was the done subsequent prints went fairly well (see the pterosaur print in the photos for example).Although VERY noisy (see video), this printer is faster than I would have expected. But my primary 3d printer is a Creality K1 with an upgraded extruder and the K1C style Quick-Swap nozzle update, so most other 3d printers seem slow to me! But still, not too shabby for such a base level printer. The bed is fairly small by today’s standards and isn’t heated, which limits what filaments you can print in actual practice – namely PLA. But the removable part of the bed is simply a magnet covered with masking tape and they included 2 more properly sized replacement tapes for when they are needed. But this is likely better done by using the wide blue painter’s masking tape when the time comes as it should work well here.At the current price point, the Tina2s with the heated bed, Wi-Fi, etc. is a better deal and somewhat more capable 3D printer. But this basic package is still a good value and is much easier to get running and to use than the upgraded version, particularly since it can be used 100% offline…

Amazingly easy to use! Had it set up and printing in minutes
If you’re looking for a great starter 3d printer, this is the one! I had this one out of the box and up and running in under 10 minutes. The instructions for setup are very good, and the SD card that’s included has several items pre-loaded on it for test prints and its easy and super cool to get printing with it.It’s quiet and puts out minimal order during the print process. There are apps that you can use to create different projects with and print via Wi-Fi from your phone or computer, but for me it was easier to work on print jobs on my laptop, then plug the SD card into the printer. The kit comes with a variety of adapters to plug the SD card into any device to setup for print jobs. This is a fun 3d printer to work with, and I’m very happy that I got this one!

Okay 3d printer as a toy, not a tool
For some context, I own other “low-end” 3d printers and personally wouldn’t recommend this one if you want to learn more about 3d printing.Firstly, I really like the fact that it has auto bed leveling. Some printers that are a little higher-end don’t even have that. I also liked that it takes minimal setup and is almost ready to go out of the box. The included filament is a nice touch too.One main thing I didn’t like was the price. Sure, you get a functional printer that does work, but the novelty wears off in time. It has no heated bed, so you cannot reliably print other materials like PETG or TPU. The speed is also a major downside. Other printers can print almost twice or thrice the speed, and they aren’t even far off from price.Overall, If you’re a maker or even someone interested in 3d printing, I wouldn’t recommend this. For just a little more you can get a machine that has more value.I would only recommend this if you just plan to make little toys and trinkets.
